"Dallas 1 PM" is a tune taken from "Strong Arm of The Law", the third studio album by the English heavy metal band SAXON. It was released in 1980, four months after "Wheels of Steel", and debuted on the UK chart at No. 11.
"Dallas 1 PM" concerns the assassination of John F. Kennedy. "We thought, 'Should we put one shot in there or should we put three?'" recalled singer Biff Byford. "In the end we went down the conspiracy theory route and had three shots."
Yesterday did SAXON play a show at Fryshuset, Arenan here in Stockholm. A great show with amazing tunes and a good portion of SAXON humor. See the setlist of tunes below.

The Swedish heavy upbeat rockers ODCULT have released a new video for the latest single "No One Gets Out Alive", taken from the bands debut album "Into The Earth". The video is have some old school violence, booze and guys in demins, see the video below.
The members of ODCULT has for many years played in various bands and projects together and have a past rooted in punk and hard rock music, which are genres that always has been located close to their hearts.
The members Coffe, Andy and Dennis decided in 2013 to cancel all old projects and instead start up a new band with a new concept, name and fresh songs.
The original idea for the music was to capture the feeling from that good old rock music that was created during the 1970s, and then add the energy that you can hear in the punk genre.
And since the members individually are influenced by quite different bands, it probably could be a pretty unique sound when it all comes together.
Coffe Fransson – Vocals, Guitar
Dennis Åhman – Drums
André Svensson – Bass
In October will the band take a trip to Germany with Marco Mendoza (DEAD DAISIES, THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE)

"Rolling in the Deep" is a song recorded by British singer Adele for her second studio album, 21. It is the lead single and opening track on the album. The song was written by Adele and Paul Epworth. The singer herself describes it as a "dark blues-y gospel disco tune". The largest crossover hit in the United States from the past 25 years, "Rolling in the Deep" gained radio airplay from many different radio formats. It was first released on 29 November 2010 as the lead single from 21 in digital download format. The lyrics describe the emotions of a scorned lover.
The tune became popular and has been covered by various artists including, the American rock band LINKIN PARK, David Cook, Ariana Grande, Haley Reinhart, Nicole Scherzinger, THE OVERTONES, rapper Lil Wayne, Scottish band KASSIDY, John Legend made an R&B a cappella version among many others.
In 2014, Aretha Franklin covered the song on her Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics album. It was released 29 September 2014 as the collection's lead single. This version peaked at number one on the US dance chart, giving Aretha Franklin her sixth number one on the chart. Franklin thus becomes the first female, and fourth artist overall (following Lil Wayne, Jay Z and James Brown), to place 100 songs on the charts (with her first entry on the chart being "Today I Sing the Blues" in 1960). This version of a "Rolling in the Deep" was Franklin’s Last single to be released before her death in 2018.

Rolling Stone said the album contains “10 charging, head-spinning ragers,” Revolver dubbed it a “28-minute blitzkrieg” and the LA Weekly proclaimed: “The band’s self-titled debut is a 28-minute burst of pure punk force, and is easily the most vitriolic material that either Lombardo or Patton has been involved with in many years.”
The CD and LP comes in glow-in-the-dark packaging with the vinyl available in Clear/Red/Black Swirl and limited edition metallic gold.

Tuesday, 25 of September and it's a special day for at last few mortal music freaks on this planet, where one of them is the author of this blog, although there is nothing magical or different with this day except that you are treated a bit better.
The dominant influence of planets Venus and Neptune form the personality and characteristic traits of individuals born on September 25th. While Venus is the ruler of the zodiacal group, Libra, Neptune governs the date in which these individuals are born. Together, the two planets determine the distinctiveness of the September 25th individuals. Talking about the positive traits, Librans with September 25th birthday are family oriented people with high regards and values to family and friends. They are honest, sincere and perceptive. Their intuitiveness and insightfulness are unique aspects which make their individuality different from fellow Librans. However, not all is good with these people as they are prone to bullheadedness. Once this is tamed, these people can be mature and receptive. In unfavourable situations, September 25th individuals may even be stubborn, unforgiving, fault-finding or insensitive.
A few other cool peoples have their birthday today, like:
The American Actor Will Smith, Michael Douglas, Michael Madsen, Mark Hamill, Christopher Reeve, Danish Adult Film Star, Actress Bodil Joensen and the Swedish Actor Mikael Persbrandt. The American Actress Heather Locklear and the Welsh Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The Radio Personality, Famous Baseball Players Phil Rizzuto, Emperor of China Qianlong Emperor, German King Frederick William II of Prussia, American football player Matt Hasselbeck, Rapper and Actor T.I., The Japanese Samurai Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, The American Guitarist Daniel Alexander Kessler, The French Music composer and theorist Jean-Philippe Rameau and the Russian Composer, songwriter Dmitry Shostakovich.
It's also a sad day, as it the day when the English drummer and songwriter John Bonham passed away (b. 1948 - d. 1980)
So to celebrate me, Superman and Luke Skywalker and pay the best tribute to John Bonham we play one of my favorites.
"What Is and What Should Never Be" is a song by English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and was included as the second track on Led Zeppelin II (1969).
"Book of Bad Decisions" CLUTCH’s 12th studio album that had a worldwide release on September 7th, 2018 via their own Weathermaker Music label. The album was recorded at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN by producer Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, THE RACONTEURS, THE DEAD WEATHER) and consists of 15 tracks that run at 56 mins. The album cover was designed by renowned photographer Dan Winters
CLUTCH is one of the best rock acts of the modern era that refuses to follow the mainstream industry or fall back into some retro act, they just play some simple real rock.
"Book of Bad Decisions" is a brilliant follow up to 2015's "Psychic Warfare", it's wise and deliberate, stylish and freaky and funny, that will make you fiddle after the "repeat" button. Fallon's lyrics are amazing, I wonder what's going on in his head when it comes down to write a tune and how the hell does he explain his ideas to his wingman's and the tightest band he could ever work with, guitarist Tim Sult, bassist Dan Maines, and drummer Jean-Paul Gaster.
The album is filled up with heavy rocket-fuelled blues and weaponized boogie funk and it kicks off with a real firestarter of "Gimme The Keys"
that follows up by the boogaloo of "Spirit Of ’76", to the hard-charging riffs in "How To Shake Hands", after that comes "In Walks Barbarella" that will stun you with it crazy and freak out lyrics, apparently, not everything has to be serious. Some classic in the Rock n' roller "Vision Quest" to the groovy "Weird Times" and the powerful "Emily Dickenson", the straightforward old-school kitchen crab cakes bluegrass of "Hot Bottom Feeder" to the closing winding tongues of "Lorelei".
Sum: Another superb release from Maryland's finest.
Today's tune is the recipe for Marylands crab cakes "Hot Bottom Feeder" is taken from "Book of Bad Decisions", enjoy!
"Sultans of Swing" is a song by British rock band DIRE STRAITS from their eponymous debut album, which band frontman Mark Knopfler wrote and composed. Although it was first released in 1978, it was its 1979 re-release that caused it to become a hit in both the UK and U.S.
The song was recorded at Pathway Studios, North London, in July 1977 and quickly acquired a following after it was put on rotation at Radio London. Its popularity soon reached record executives, and DIRE STRAITS were offered a contract with Phonogram Records. The song was then re-recorded in February 1978 at Basing Street Studios for the band's debut album. The record company wanted a less-polished rock sound for the radio, so an alternative version was recorded at Pathway Studios in April 1978 and released as the single in some countries including the United Kingdom and Germany.
The music for "Sultans of Swing" was composed by Mark Knopfler on a National Steel guitar in an open tuning, though Knopfler did not think very highly of it at first. As he remembered, "I thought it was dull, but as soon as I bought my first Strat in 1977, the whole thing changed, though the lyrics remained the same. It just came alive as soon as I played it on that ’61 Strat which remained my main guitar for many years and was basically the only thing I played on the first album and the new chord changes just presented themselves and fell into place."
The inspiration for the song came from witnessing a jazz band playing in the corner of a practically deserted pub in Deptford, South London. At the end of their performance, the lead singer announced that they were the "Sultans of Swing", and Knopfler found the contrast between the group's dowdy appearance and surroundings and their grandiose name amusing.
Today's tune "Sultans of Swing" is a fully-formed, blues-drenched tune that set the musically standard and trademark for the band. Today's version is Alchemy Live, Recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 22–23 July 1983. Enjoy!
By most bands’ fifth LP, the sound is pretty set. Parameters established. Refinement dissipated in favor of formulaic execution of what’s worked in the past and with the new single from the Nashville psych-rock experimentalists, ALL THEM WITCHES is sounding really promising.
In 2017, the Nashville four-piece offered what might’ve otherwise become their own template in their fourth album, "Sleeping Through The War". Their second for New West Records following 2015’s mellow-vibing "Dying Surfer Meets His Maker", Sleeping brought larger production value to dug-in heavy psych blues jamming with oversight from producer Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson). Good or bad, well I have learned to like it true time, even if the older one is more playable for my ears.
The new album is mixed by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile) and introducing keyboardist/percussionist Jonathan Draper to the fold with McLeod, bassist/vocalist Charles Michael Parks, Jr., and drummer/graphic artist Robby Staebler, the new eponymous record isn’t self-titled by mistake.
Today's tune "Diamond" is taken from the upcoming album "ATW", set to be released September 28. The Video is directed by Robby Staebler.
Additionally, the band has announced a US headlining tour, kicking off at the Desert Daze Music Festival in Perris, CA on October 12-14 where they will play alongside the likes of MY BLOODY VALENTINE, TAME IMPALA, KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARD.

Brian Wright is an American singer-songwriter from Waco, TX. His debut album, Dog Ears was released in 2006, quickly followed by a sophomore effort, Bluebird in 2007. After signing with Sugar Hill Records, Wright has recorded two more albums, 2011's "House on Fire" and 2013's "Rattle Their Chains".
For Brian Wright, life as a traveling troubadour began in Waco, Texas near the highway and the trains where he found music at the age of 13. That is where his father took a job that required a great deal of travel, making the family VW van Wright’s first crib. He started as a drummer but found the guitar more to his liking (though he can play almost any instrument with keys or strings). Wright spent several years playing in Austin and Dallas bars before moving to Los Angeles in 2002 with his drummer. There they formed the band "Brian Wright and the Waco Tragedies". Several different music styles later, Wright settled on an infusion of folk, country, and rock music while defying all three. The album Dog Ears, in 2006, was his first release, followed soon thereafter by the album Bluebird in 2007. The band began to develop quite a following. Consequently, Wright feels most at home when on the road, and this movement has helped shaped Wright’s sense of bare-boned lyrics and achingly beautiful songs that seem both distant and intimate at the same time.
Today's tune "Accordion" is taken from 2011's "House on Fire" album, enjoy!
"AD/HD", the new video from Gothenburg, Sweden-based rockers HARDCORE SUPERSTAR. The song is taken from the band's 11th studio album, "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll", which will be released tomorrow, September 21. The album have 12 tunes that almost for sure is totally ear splitting!
Recorded throughout 2017 and early 2018 at the beautiful Österlyckan (Wooden Hybrid) studios near Gothenburg, the album was produced by the bandmembers themselves and mixed in Stockholm by Dino Medanhodzic.
Said the band: "'You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll' isn't just a statement of confrontation and rebellion, it's a celebration of everything we love, the music, the lifestyle, this is our religion, it's our choice, and it's everything we believe in."

California-Nashville rock outfit RIVAL SONS offer a look at stage performances on the road and behind-the-scenes snippets in the video for their new song, "Do Your Worst". This is the first new music to be made available from the band's forthcoming LP, expected to arrive early next year on Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb's Low Country Sound imprint via Atlantic, which was recorded at Studio A and the equally legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
"Do Your Worst" is a great rocker with a gritty lead guitar riff, rough and catchy drumming and powerful vocals with catchy chorus.
Buchanan said he and RIVAL SONS guitarist Scott Holiday wrote “Do Your Worst” during a session in south Tennessee. “Sometimes environment really shapes a song,” he said. “Hunkered down in a threadbare shack deep in the south Tennessee woods we (Scott and I) sweated it out and just wrote for a week straight. We were set out on an old causeway surrounded by neglected reservoirs and overgrown with shit you don’t want to see and yes; infested with all manner snakes. The song is a whiskey nightmare crawling with copperheads to me.”
Today's tune "Do Your Worst" is taken from the upcoming album, enjoy!
"Rainier Fog" is the ALICE IN CHAINS third record since the death of its iconic frontman, Layne Staley. It's has been five years since the released their stellar sophomoric release "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" with William DuVall on vocals.
"Rainier Fog" is ALICE IN CHAINS sixth full-length release for the Seattle grunge metal band, the album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, DEFTONES), who produced Black Gives Way To Blue and The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.
"Rainier Fog" opens up with the leading singles "The One You Know" and "So Far Under", two tunes that really making the rounds of the album. Guitar based classic AIC tunes, where the chemistry between Cantrell and DuVall is like a loving couple, riffs, harmonies and vocals just fit perfect. The title track "Rainier Fog" is a rocker with heavy riffing, tougher vocals and great energy that drives the tune. "Fly" is a beauty, half-paced melodic piece that makes you set peace with yourself. Great heaviosity in "Red Giant" with some real crunchy guitars and the doomish track "Drone", with heavy riffing and trailing vocals that drain you like a punctured rubber duck. "Never Fade" is the album standout and have some really marvelous vocals, excellent guitar slinging work signed Cantrell and the rhythm section by drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez. The light paced tracks "Deaf Ears Blind Eyes" and "Maybe" that takes the slower melodic way to shine. The hypnotic closing by the tune "All I Am", a slow piece with an epic ending.
"Rainier Fog" is a flawless record, still modern but unconcerned with fashion, a real and exciting piece of work that only ALICE IN CHAINS could produce
Sum: "Rainier Fog" is like a flower that has just blossomed up, full of life!
Today's tune "The One You Know" is taken from "Rainier Fog", enjoy!
"All Right Now" is a single by the English rock band FREE. The song, released in 1970, hit #2 on the UK singles chart and #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. "All Right Now" originally appeared on the album "Fire and Water", which Free recorded on the Island Records label, formed by Chris Blackwell. In 1991, the song was remixed and re-released, reaching #8 on the UK singles chart.
According to drummer Simon Kirke, "All Right Now" was written by bassist Andy Fraser and singer Paul Rodgers in the Durham Students' Union building, Dunelm House. One of the engineers during the recordings of "All Right Now" was Roy Thomas Baker.
Prior to their time in BAD COMPANY, Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke had already realized a few rock and roll fantasies of their own with FREE.
Their signature number "All Right Now", was created by a group who were just in their teens when they first got together, with bassist Andy Fraser just 15 years old at time. Success wasn’t immediate for FREE. Being as it was buried as the last song on the second side of their third album, 1970's, "Fire and Water", it’s fortunate that "All Right Now" was so much of an immediate earworm that it demanded attention and didn’t get lost.
But listening to "All Right Now" now, how could you miss it? Luckily, Island Records president Chris Blackwell heard the magic as soon as he heard the song. Which is lucky, according to Fraser, the band themselves “weren’t that keen on it.”
The tune was laid down live in the studio for the most part, with Rodgers adding his vocals after the fact. As it became a big hit, critics took aim and claimed that the main riff had been lifted directly from THE ROLLING STONES "Honky Tonk Women". Fraser points to a different influence, telling Classic Rock magazine that he was trying to imitate Pete Townshend, who he calls “the best chord player." "All Right Now" was well received amongst FREEs fellow musical peers, with Steve Miller later admitting that the intro to "Rock N’ Me’" was a nod to Free guitarist Paul Kossoff and the soon to be famous intro from "All Right Now". The inspiration was karmic because both tunes had been born out of a desire to inject a heavy dosage of rock into an otherwise mid-tempo set. They needed a number to get the audiences on their feet and "All Right Now", with a healthy helping of cowbell added in, proved to be just what the doctor ordered.
At the height of the band’s popularity, they performed a rough and tumble version of "All Right Now" for over 600,000 people at the Isle of Wight festival, all of whom were unaware that the same song would someday be used to try to pick up a delicious blonde on a bus (via a classic Wrigley’s commercial). Although inner band turmoil and wildly fluctuating record sales would eventually cause Free to break apart (followed tragically by the drug-related death of Kossoff in 1976), "All Right Now" remains a blistering feather in their cap.
