All Them Witches - Diamond

By most bands’ fifth LP, the sound is pretty set. Parameters established. Refinement dissipated in favor of formulaic execution of what’s worked in the past and with the new single from the Nashville psych-rock experimentalists, ALL THEM WITCHES is sounding really promising.

In 2017, the Nashville four-piece offered what might’ve otherwise become their own template in their fourth album, "Sleeping Through The War". Their second for New West Records following 2015’s mellow-vibing "Dying Surfer Meets His Maker", Sleeping brought larger production value to dug-in heavy psych blues jamming with oversight from producer Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson). Good or bad, well I have learned to like it true time, even if the older one is more playable for my ears.

The new album is mixed by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile) and introducing keyboardist/percussionist Jonathan Draper to the fold with McLeod, bassist/vocalist Charles Michael Parks, Jr., and drummer/graphic artist Robby Staebler, the new eponymous record isn’t self-titled by mistake.

Today's tune "Diamond" is taken from the upcoming album "ATW", set to be released September 28. The Video is directed by Robby Staebler.

Additionally, the band has announced a US headlining tour, kicking off at the Desert Daze Music Festival in Perris, CA on October 12-14 where they will play alongside the likes of MY BLOODY VALENTINE, TAME IMPALA, KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARD.

Tame Impala - Elephant

Tame Impala is a band from Perth, Australia, the psychedelic rock project of Kevin Parker. The band came to prominence in 2010 with the release of their debut album, Innerspeaker. Their name refers to the impala, a medium sized antelope. They like to see themselves as "a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melody.

Tame Impala is the movement in Orion's nebula and the slime from a snail journeying across a footpath. To humans however, Tame Impala is more of a 'music ensemble', but its various other forms should not be disregarded (colour that humans can see is only a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum, the rest is just as important to other things!)

Tame Impala are Kevin Parker, Dom Simper and Jay Watson. The Tame Impala sound is one equally informed by The Beatles as it is beat poetry, by Turkish prog as it is by Turkish delight, and by English folk as much as homeless folk, and it's a breathe of fresh air that reeks of all of these at times and none at others.

Tame Impala return to the European stages in October with a series of dates that coincide with the release of the sequel to the 2010 Inner Speaker and spread the psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock music.

The tour begins in Germany, moving through France, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Holland before ending in the UK at the beginning of november. Sweden show is set on Oct.20 at the club What We Do Is Secret at Debaser Medis in Stockholm.

The new album is Heavily inspired by Todd Rundgren's 1973 album A Wizard, a True Star, Lonerism represents somewhat of a musical departure for Tame Impala.

Todays tune "Elephant" is taken from the upcoming second album "Lonerism", set to be released on 5 October 2012.
