Paris-based fuzzheads RED SUN ATACAMA have release thier debut album "Licancabur" on More Fuzz Records.
A trio formed in 2015, comprised of bassist/vocalist Clément Màrquez, guitarist Vincent Hospital and drummer Robin Caillon, the French fuzzers have releasaed a six-track/35-minute long-player issued through More Fuzz Records.
The title "Licancabur" is from the volcano located in said desert traditionally worshiped as sacred by the Atacameños people who live nearby.

"Wasteland" is the fifth full-length release for the British psychedelic rock band UNCLE ACID AND THE DEADBEATS (UA) led by Kevin Starrs, "Wasteland" was recorded at the iconic Sunset Sound studio, Los Angeles and was released on October 12th 2018 on Rise Above Records.
As we know the band by now, a wonderful and mysterious musical journey is expected in the dark-blown 60-70's cult film-inspired rock.
The same ingredients have been used to create "Wasteland" that the band is know for. The album opens up with "I See Through You" a rock driven and wilful catchy piece that rolls out the red carpet for "Wasteland", great tune indeed. It follows up with a ballsy heavy riff in "Shockwave City", a heavy rocker that could have been made in the 70's. "No Return" is a nine minute sluggish, creepy thing that follows the band's classic path that ooze psychedelic dizzy on an abandoned cemetery. Early IRON MAIDEN comes to mind when it's time for "Blood Runner" and "Stranger Tonight", two tunes that with high tempo and galloping twin guitas, lumbering riffs and great hooks stands out abit. The half pace title track "Wasteland" is a real epic, a lighter approch, acoustic guitars, softer vocals. The two last tunes on the album are horn and organ featuring tune "Bedouin" and the spaced out ending in "Exodus".
Sum: "Wasteland" is high-watermark album from your favourite freaked-out uncle.

"Boogie with Canned Heat" is the second album by the American rock band CANNED HEAT, released in 1968. Unlike their debut, it features mostly original material. It included the top 10 hit "On the Road Again," one of their best-known songs.
Today's tune "Amphetamine Annie", a warning about the dangers of amphetamine abuse, also received considerable airplay. "Fried Hockey Boogie" was the first example of one of CANNED HEATs boogies, or loose jams.
This is a song with a message. ("I don't care what a Limey says. I got to get it on! "). CANNED HEATs hit Going Up The Country doesn't represent their usual John Lee Hooker Boogie style. "Amphetamine Annie" was written by Adolfo De La Parra, Samuel Lawrence Taylor, Alan Wilson, Henry Vestine and Robert Jr. Hite.
CANNED HEAT is an American rock band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1965. The group has been noted for its interpretations of blues material and for its efforts to promote interest in this type of music and its original artists. It was launched by two blues enthusiasts, Alan Wilson and Bob Hite, who took the name from Tommy Johnson's 1928 "Canned Heat Blues", a song about an alcoholic who had desperately turned to drinking Sterno, generically called "canned heat" (from the original 1914 product name Sterno Canned Heat), After appearances at the Monterey and Woodstock festivals at the end of the 1960s, the band acquired worldwide fame with a lineup consisting of Hite (vocals), Wilson (guitar, harmonica and vocals), Henry Vestine and later Harvey Mandel (lead guitar), Larry Taylor (bass), and Adolfo de la Parra (drums).
The Norweigan rockers LYDIA LASKA's highly anticipated second album, "Ego Death" have hit the stores. The European release was on October 5th, while the North American date is set for October 26th.
LYDIA LASKA hail from Stavanger and Oslo, Norway. Forming in 2002, its members come from a diverse musical background, including (but certainly not limited to) the early black metal scene as well as prog/krautrock, punk, and good ol' rock 'n' roll. The band's recorded debut came in 2006 with the "White Trash Attack" EP, and was followed by two more EPs - "We're Nothing Compared to Ourselves" (2007) and "Could I Have a Go On Your Girl, Please?" (2009) - but it wasn't until their debut album in 2010, "Krankenhaus", where the LYDIA LASKA aesthetic truly took flight. A devilishly dark, boldly bewildering, but above all perversely catchy sound emerged, drawing in such disparate influences as the VELVET UNDERGROUND, FAUST, David Bowie, ROYAL TRUX, THE STOOGES, and old-school black metal. Not long after its release, "Krankenhaus" went on to be critically acclaimed and served as an admitted prime influence for fellow hybrid-benders KVELERTAK. LYDIA LASKA soon became notorious for their chaotic live shows - to the point where they actually had to stop playing gigs since they were generally banned from most venues.
The second album. Fittingly titled "Ego Death", this is the sound of LYDIA LASKA becoming both brasher and smoother, rougher and more come-hither, swaggering and silky. LYDIA LASKA chose to record "Ego Death" with esteemed producer Emil Nikolaisen (ÅRABROT, Todd Rundgren, Serena-Maneesh).
The album have some guest appearances by: Gildas le Pape (SATYRICON), Ådne Meisfjord (120 DAYS, Serena Maneesh) and Emilie Lium Vordal (CLOSING EYES, A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS).

BACKWOODS PAYBACK, from West Chester, Pennsylvania released their new album "Future Slum" a few weeks ago. This three-piece band consists of guitarist/vocalist Mike Cummings, bassist Jessica Baker, and drummer Erik Larson.
"Future Slum" is a really good album where music is like Stonergrunge, it heavy, dirty and partly very punky :) Mlny Parsonz of ROYAL THUNDER hurls out a scream on the tune "Whatever". My favorite tune is "Alone", a heavy and very groovy tune, slow pace with a real thickness that the distorted riffing get stuck into the wall when passing five on the volume control, if more is given, your wall will be gone.

Meet ENDLESS BOOGIE, the best-kept secret in New York's rock scene. They have a pretty cool name (taken from John Lee Hooker's 1971 album).
They have released a new animated video for album track “Back in ’74”, which tells the story of Kiss playing at a kite festival in St. Louis, where he was injured on an acid trip.
They just want to rock with you, preferably all night long. "We try boogie sometimes, but boogie's hard," says guitarist Jesper Eklow (aka "The Governor") self-effacingly. "Boogie takes skill and we haven't honed those skills yet." The band's sound is a meltdown of metal, psychedelic and classic rock with a heavy dose of riffage, a kick-ass beat and super-cryptic lyrics. It's thunderous and mellow at once. To put it another way, it goes well with beer. Aside from Eklow, the band is made up of Paul Major (aka "Top Dollar") on guitar and vocals, Mark Ohe (aka "Memories from Reno") on bass and Harry Druzd on drums. Needless to say, their collective knowledge of music is so expansive it's a little scary.
ENDLESS BOOGIE did a team up with legendary Swedish psych outfit TRÄD, GRÄS OCH STENAR a few weeks ago for a US tour, including stops at Cropped Out Festival, Ohio’s Wexner Center and New York’s Music Hall of Williamsburg. This will be ENDLESS BOOGIEs first extensive US tour since the release of 2016’s "Vibe Killer", which Uncut Magazine called “a masterclass in choogling.”

"Electric Messiah", the eighth full-length studio release for the Oakland, California-based metal band HIGH ON FIRE led by Matt Pike.

HIGH ON FIRE has once again hired the producer Kurt Ballou, to assist in the album making of "Electric Messiah". The trio has really challenged themselves to evolve their beloved creation to something really marvelous and interesting.
The album opens of by a blast of bombast metal, straight into the face with "Spewn From The Earth". Then to the nine minutes of wonderful monotone and grinding riffing in "Steps Of The Ziggurat/House Of Enlil", a monstrous piece that you will play more than once. The title tune "Electric Messiah", with lyrics written reportedly to paying tribute to the legendary Lemmy Kilmister and it's like a MOTÖRHEAD tune on 45 rpm, fast and unmistakable galloping with a loud and raging fury. The sinister melody of "Sanctioned Annihilation", a ten and half minute masterpiece with pummelling tribal rhythms will keep you on track, being the longest song HIGH ON FIRE have ever written. The more metal jamming tunes like "The Pallid Mask" and heavy riffing "The Witch And The Christ" makes the old days shine true with a clean Matt Pike behind the michrophone. The aesthetic high-octane rocker "God Of The Godless". "Freebooter" is a thunderous piece, fast and full of rage riffing with blistering drums and a breakneck rhythm. The melodic closer "Drowning Dog" is a real upswing, more classic and catchy in the hole, great riffing, great vocals, great drumming, inventive rhythms that make this tune a great standout tune at the end of a marvelous album. The album has eleven hard-hitting tunes that will please you as a listener from start to finish, great job guys.
By 1980, more than a decade into their career, JUDAS PRIEST were ready to take on the world. With the release of their sixth album, the classic "British Steel" and the single "Livin After Midnight" they were really delivering the goods.
The song title came about when Glenn Tipton awakened Rob Halford with his loud guitar playing at 4 AM, during the band's stay at Tittenhurst Park to record British Steel. Halford commented to Tipton that he was "really living after midnight", and Tipton replied that Halford's comment was a great title for the song he was working on.
On live performances, the line, "I took the city 'bout one a.m.", is sometimes changed to the particular city or venue the band is performing. For example, on the DVD Rising in the East, lead vocalist Rob Halford sings, "I took the Budokan 'bout one a.m.", in reference to the stadium in Tokyo, Japan, that hosted the concert. On the Westwood One recording from the 1983 US Festival Halford recites, "I took some acid about 1 a.m ..."
The music video, directed by Julien Temple and shot live at the Sheffield City Hall, begins with drummer Dave Holland playing an invisible drum kit. During the guitar solo, fans on the front row play along with their cardboard guitars (which were the prominent fan symbols of the new wave of British heavy metal movement).
This song has been covered by THE DONNAS on their album "The Donnas Turn 21" (2001), by Saul Blanch on the tribute album Acero Argentino: Tributo a Judas Priest (2006), by L.A. GUNS on Hell Bent Forever: A Tribute to Judas Priest (2008) and by IRON SAVIOR as a bonus track on the Japanese release of their Condition Red (2002) album.
It was covered by DISTURBED on the Tribute to British Steel (2010) CD by Metal Hammer UK music magazine, incorporating the opening drum salvo from "Painkiller". It also appears as one of the bonus songs available with some distributions of "Asylum" (2010), and also features on their B-sides compilation album "The Lost Children" (2011).
The guitar solo in the song is played by Glenn Tipton.
The song packed a real one-two punch that woke up U.S. fans to the power of the Priest. "Livin After Midnight", with its simple, almost KINKS-like riff, was a perfect melding of metal and pop, in the best sense of both worlds. In just over three minutes, Priest packed all the power of their metallic sound into a simple, direct pop track. Leaving behind earlier, more complicated songwriting, the band turned in a riff, melody and driving beat that was irresistible to rock radio. Record buyers also got hooked, giving JUDAS PRIEST their first major hit.

The band was formed in 2013 in Lafayette, Louisiana, FORMING THE VOID have not only become one of the city’s most talked about heavy rock bands, but they are also now widely considered to be a dominant and rising force in the genre. GHOST recently sold out the very prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London, and METALLICA just announced the Swedish band will be special guest on its 25-date European stadium tour next summer. GHOST will headline its two-act "A Pale Tour Named Death" fall North American tour that starts in Dallas on October 25. The North American trek includes two headline arena shows, The Forum in Los Angeles, and New York City's Barclays Center, see all the dates below.
The video is also notable as it tells the backstory of GHOST frontman “Papa Emeritus,” and how he got his iconic look. A woman seduces one of the men, who emerges with “Papa’s” iconic face paint and punches him in the eye creating a blue and bloodshot left eye. The song itself touches on how many people coped with the Black Plague in Europe back in the 14th century by dancing and partying until they died. In other GHOST news, a lawsuit filed against GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge by former bandmates was dismissed in a Swedish court. The judge ruled in favor of Forge, forcing the ex-GHOST musicians to pay the frontman’s legal fees.

From the album "The Wall (Redux)" have the Arkansas doom metal band PALLBEARER put thier teets in the iconic Floyd classic, "Run Like Hell", here did they got the chance to really think outside the box and make thier own version with galloping, up-tempo, early-Maiden-esque classic-rock hard rock, sounds splendid. Instead of David Gilmour's simple reverb-heavy guitar lick, the melodic-doom quartet opts for a chugging, churning approach, leaning heavily on the gallop that exists in the original and bringing it to the forefront.
"Run Like Hell" is a song by the English progressive rock band PINK FLOYD, written by David Gilmour and Roger Waters. It appears on the album "The Wall", 1979. It was released as a single in 1980.

A good rule of thumb for covers is don't do them — unless you are either 1) completely revamping the song and giving it a different feel and sound, or 2) improving on the original. PALLBEARER has definitely achieved No. 1, and only time will tell if PALLBEARER have done No. 2, but we'll be damned if they aren't pretty close.

I’LL BE DAMNED was founded in Aarhus, Denmark in 2010. They quickly started to make a fuss with their energetic live shows, which showcases four guys delivering a thunderous foundation for the enigmatic, howlin’ and preaching frontman, Stig Gamborg.
I’LL BE DAMNED is pissed off about politics, religion, the media and society in general. Armed with influences such as CLUTCH, DOWN and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, the band fuses a potent yet melodic and groovy punch in your face with lyrical sharpness and unifying paroles – with an attitude, great swing in the tunes make I’LL BE DAMNED a fun band to rock to.
Despite playing a lot of shows in their own right, I’LL BE DAMNED has supported the likes of METALLICA, D-A-D, AIRBOURNE, and STEEL PANTHER as well as they have been featured on a lot of festivals home and abroad – among others Copenhell and Rock Harz.

Los Angeles band, THE FREEKS, know that as the Earth revolves the sun and the Universe infinitely expands, it must be shared with as many different kinds of life as there are stars. A bold statement coming from a bunch of FREEKS. This is not a new concept, however, an ever-recurring one dating back to Ezekiel’s biblical account to even further back with evidence from ancient Egypt and Mayan times. After 4,000 years the theory continues strong as we enter 2018.
THE FREEKS also enter 2018 with the completion of "CRAZY WORLD", their fourth full length “LP” and second release for Italian based HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS RECORDS. A studio record with eight songs that take you on a psychedelic journey from hidden moonlit distilleries all the way up to the Mothership and back down to Mother Earth. It could have happened in 2700 BC and it’s definitely happening again now as THE FREEKS continue to ferment their ethanol infused fuzz rock, bead their songwriting to reflect a heavier content and extract added amounts of psychoactive chemicals from the minds of their listeners.

"Rock På Svenska" is the postumt album by Strängen. During his career, he played guitar in HELLACOPTERS. Now one and a half years after his death, a new album with Strängen's original ideas is released.
The Story about the album.
Chips Kiesbye tells us that "Strängen" came home to him once a week, for six months. The seatings were like a mix of therapy meetings and songwriting. They reviewed each line of text and discussed what he wanted to say with the songs. They also set up their own "dogma rules". That means that all words must be true and right from the heart. No worn-out rock clichés was allowed. In December 2016 they considered having a really strong ready written album. They selected some of the songs that felt most obvious and booked the studio for a first session. It was not necessarily the strongest songs they chose first, but songs that they thought were appropriate to begin with. Unfortunately, it was only one session so they did not do everything they had imagined to do. Another things came in between.
Last year Robert "Strängen" Dahlqvist was taken away from us. He suffered from epilepsy. And just a few days after he had been in the studio together with the band, he got a strike at home in the bathtub and drowned. The producer Chips Kiesbye, known from SATOR, spoke with "Strängen" relatives. Together they decided to finish the recordings on the basis of the ideas "Strängen" and his band had been talked about during all the discussions and planning meetings. "Rock On Svenska" is the result of this work.
"Rock På Svenska" is a rocker with a great swing, in the native language he sings sensitive with very personal lyrics about his upbringing, it's real, it's honest, it's true. The album opens up with "Thriller" a real rocker, dirty AC/DC riffs, catchy chorus, the tune is about that he is scary and fragile. "Farsan Söp Ihjäl Sig" is a fast paced rocker with a real sad story about his alcoholic dad. After that, it is very appropriate to ask "E de OK", he says that he is fine, everything is OK, but "All feelings gets into tears / When the air goes out " he sings. A sensitive tune. The pace goes up a notch in the rocker "Inte Min Vän". The loving "Din Hand" is a great sunny reminder of all the things that's are nice in life. A nice melody thats accompanied by beautiful guitar riff. "Rocken É Inte Död" is a cool rocker about the radio the plays synth pop and not great rock music that his. "Bangatan" is a powerful and melody-strong rocker that was released as a single a couple of years ago. The album ends with the captivating tribute to the daughter, "Ingrid", a beautiful piece that reaches its emotional culmination.
"Rock På Svenska" is a relaxed and strong 80's embossed rockalbum that is delivered so much heart and is emotionally charged and naked that "Strängen" can remain and receive all the praise for a job well done.
Sum: This album is a beautiful and worthy monument of a talented musician who was pulled away from life too early.

"Listen to the Music" is a song recorded by THE DOOBIE BROTHERS on their second album "Toulouse Street". This tune was THE DOOBIE BROTHERS' first big hit in 1972, it remains a concert staple and is one of The Doobie Brothers' biggest hits.[citation needed] This song is usually played as the last song at THE DOOBIE BROTHERS' concerts. It was written by Tom Johnston, who also played guitar on the track.
Tom Johnston says about this time: "It was all based around this somewhat Utopian view of the world. The idea was that music would lift man up to a higher plane, and that world leaders, if they were able to sit down on some big grassy knoll where the sun was shining and hear music - such as the type I was playing - would figure out that everybody had more in common than they had not in common, and it was certainly not worth getting in such a bad state of affairs about. Everybody in the world would therefore benefit from this point of view. Just basically that music would make everything better. And of course I've since kind of realized it doesn't work that way."
The studio recording used both a banjo and a prominent flanging effect, audible from the bridge until the fadeout. When released as a single by Warner Bros.
The commercial success of "Listen to the Music" helped the album "Toulouse Street" rise on the charts. The song remains a staple of adult contemporary and classic rock radio. The band also uses it as an encore song during live shows. Patrick Simmons, the second guitarist and vocalist in the group, sings the bridge of the song.
During the 1982 Farewell Tour, the song was the last one played on the set list as the encore with drummer Keith Knudsen singing the lead vocal.
