The concert was arranged by Tony Johansson (Fas3, KSM3 etc.) and Johan Johansson (KSMB, John Lenin, Strindbergs, KSM3 etc.) when they learned that Tommy Ekengren, who was the soul of Ultrahuset and Kafé 44, received a miserably small pension.
All artists performed for free, Södra Teatern lent Kägelbanan for free, the concert sold out in seconds and even the extra concert sold out at the moment.
"Eyes Of Oblivion" marks the first time THE HELLACOPTERS had released a full-length album of new material since 2008's "Head Off", and the first full-length album with Dregen since 1997's "Payin' the Dues". It's with a warm welcome back to one of Sweden’s best rock bands

"Eyes Of Oblivion" and fourteen long years have passed since the last album, we lost the guitarist Strängen, so I was a little bit apprehensive about a new album, but when I heard the album's lead single, "Reap A Hurricane", my mind got changed, as this tune is a real rocker with a catchy melody, a true high class that falls into the typical sound that they once created. Then the band released the album's title track as its second single and holy Moses this new album will kick some ass as the single is amazing. This was followed by the third single, "So Sorry I Could Die", on March 4, 2022, and they serve us with a slow bluesy number that I do really love, it got that magical feeling that lance your soul. (Lance is a pole weapon designed to be used by a mounted warrior or cavalry soldier). "Eyes Of Oblivion" contains ten new tunes with a playtime of just under thirty-five minutes, where all the tracks are highly enjoyable, tunes that have that classic HELLACOPTERS sound that covers the early and the later era, which eventually becomes a very varied album, with a hungry and very playful band. As Andersson described the album as "THE BEATLES meets JUDAS PRIEST, or LYNYRD SKYNYRD meets THE RAMONES, but the best way to describe this album is that it sounds like THE HELLACOPTERS today". And I can only agree with that. “Can´t Wait” follows the more classic sound that could fit any of the older albums. “A Plow And A Doctor” is a groovy piece that waves to the old KISS nerv, great rocker that follows by “Positively Not Knowing”, where they pick up the pace a bit, strong rocker with a catchy chorus. The guitar-driven "Tin Foil Soldier" takes us back in time where their idols get hailed. The very catchy "Beguiled" is probably next in line as a single, excellent tune with a groove to kill for. "The Pressure´s On" has a nice old-school Swedish pop flavor over it, with a great swing in the guitars and vocals. The album closes up with heavy riffs in the bombastic "Try Me Tonight", magic infectious hooks, an excellent tune to round off this marvelous release. I'm sure this one will end high when the year is going to be summarized. Today is a great day to be Swedish!

Born in a Dalston basement, "Quatermass Seven" by Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto could only have been produced in the colourful streets of sprawling London. Driven by the three contributing musicians’ 25-year plus journey through multiple genres and inspirations, what you hear within its seven tracks is the ‘60s British blues explosion colliding with a mid ‘70s Bronx block party; Haight Ashbury acid rock mashed up with Manchester’s summer of love circa ’88; or a prime slice of UK freakbeat broadcast from New York’s jazz underground, emerging kicking and screaming above London city tower blocks.
This meeting of minds between guitarist Barrie Cadogan, bassist Lewis Wharton and drummer Malcolm Catto represents a re-birth of sorts for Little Barrie, with these their first recordings since 2017’s critically received Death Express album, and the sad and untimely passing of friend and drummer Virgil Howe. Following a difficult period of soul searching for both Barrie and Lewis, they made the decision to record again: knowing they weren’t looking for a replacement for Virgil, or to replicate past glories, alleviated some of this inherent pressure. “I’ve never seen the point in making ‘Death Express’ or ‘Surf Hell’ again, and we said quite clearly to Malcolm that we wanted to do something different”, states Lewis. “I just saw it as me, Barrie and Malcolm running through some ideas – as the mixes evolved and shaped up, it made sense that it became the next Little Barrie record.”
What "Quatermass Seven" delivers is a darker, deeper and more expansive set of grooves, layered with frazzled and flawless guitar lines and flowing melodies, as well as pointing toward a future of exciting new musical opportunities. “Still here, so fine, just a little darker state of mind” sings Cadogan on ‘Steel Drum’: words which sum up hope in times of uncertainty, whilst (maybe) unintentionally offering a perfect description of the music contained herein.

THE DRIPPERS brings you the dirty high octane garage punk ’n’ rock where the new single ”Time For Some Action” is the first taste of THE DRIPPERS’ upcoming sophomore album, which follows their acclaimed 2019 debut "Action Rock".
THE DRIPPERS did a lot of rehearsing, pre-producing and writing prior to entering Sunlight Studio to record thier second album. "Time For Some Action" was just an idea we had started jamming on a couple of times, but in the car going to the studio William said "we're gonna record it for the album". So when they rehearsed and arranged it in the studio with Tomas Skogsberg (aka the Overlord of distortion) and recorded it while still learning the song. It always gives an extra edge to do it that way, you just let your instinct take over. It had a good groove and a commanding title, so it felt appropriate to choose it as the first single. Last in, first out! Boogie!

"I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)" is a song written with music by Annette Tucker and lyrics by Nancie Mantz, which was recorded in late 1966 by the garage rock band THE ELECTRIC PRUNES. Released as the band's second single November 1966.
It was also the lead track of the band's debut album, and became more widely known as the opening track on the influential Nuggets compilation of garage rock and early psychedelic music, released in 1972.
The title is a play on words, namely on having "too much (alcohol) to drink": its lyrics describe how the singer has woken from dreaming about an ex-lover.
THE ELECTRIC PRUNES originally formed as THE SANCTIONS at Taft High School in Los Angeles, renaming themselves in 1966. They were introduced to record producer Dave Hassinger, and after a series of rehearsals at Leon Russell's house released a debut single, "Ain't It Hard". Despite its commercial failure, Reprise Records agreed that the band could record a second single.
Convinced that the band could not write their own songs, Hassinger sought material from the professional songwriting team of Annette Tucker and lyricist Nancie Mantz. One of the tunes was "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)", a song that, according to some sources, was originally conceived as an orchestral piano ballad. However, according to Tucker, "I came up with the title one day and called Nancie. She loved it and we wrote it the next day in one half hour....The words were there and my melody came easily. I was influenced by the Rolling Stones at the time and that is how I heard that song being recorded....Nancie and I envisioned this as a rock song." A demo version recorded for Hassinger by singer-songwriter Jerry Fuller (in some sources wrongly identified as Jerry Vale), may have been the source of the story of the song's origin as a ballad.
At the time, THE ELECTRIC PRUNES comprised singer James Lowe, lead guitarist Ken Williams, rhythm guitarist James "Weasel" Spagnola, bassist Mark Tulin, and drummer Preston Ritter. The oscillating, reversed guitar which opens the song originated from the rehearsals at Russell's house, where Williams recorded with a 1958 Gibson Les Paul guitar with a Bigsby vibrato unit. According to Lowe, "We were recording on a four-track, and just flipping the tape over and re-recording when we got to the end. Dave cued up a tape and didn't hit 'record,' and the playback in the studio was way up: ear-shattering vibrating jet guitar. Ken had been shaking his Bigsby wiggle stick with some fuzztone and tremolo at the end of the tape. Forward it was cool. Backward it was amazing. I ran into the control room and said, 'What was that?' They didn't have the monitors on so they hadn't heard it. I made Dave cut it off and save it for later."
The single was released in November 1966. At first it was caught up in the Christmas rush, but in early 1967 it made steady progress up the US chart and finally peaked at #11. It also reached # 49 in the UK chart. Its success enabled the band to tour, and to release an album and a successful follow-up single "Get Me to the World on Time".
TEKE::TEKE is a 7 piece band featuring a Shinobue (traditional Japanese Bamboo flute), a Taisho Koto and a trombone alongside fuzzy guitars and a rhythm section to create a sound reminiscent of 1960’s – 70’s era psychedelic Japanese soundtracks, while remaining undeniably modern and punk. Their debut album entitled "Shirushi" (or ‘signs of great changes to come’) takes you through a vast array of imagery with themes of identity, spirituality, rebirth and the profound exploration of oneself.
TEKE::TEKE was first an homage to legendary Japanese guitarist Takeshi ‘Terry’ Terauchi and has quickly evolved into a band of its own by blending Japanese ‘Eleki’ with elements of modern music such as shoegaze, post-rock and noise. The Swedish rockers ROTTEN MIND will serv us with a tune "City Rats" for this friday. A band that combining elements of 70’s punk, post-punk and garage rock.
"City Rats" is taken from the bands fourth full length album "Rat City Dog Boy". As one of the four original bands affiliated with Lövely Records, ROTTEN MIND had released three studio albums; “I’m Alone Even With You” (2015), “Rotten Mind” (2017) and “Fading Into Oblivion” (2018), their style evolving from the early, fairly frantic, punk thrash of their debut through into more mainstream indie-rock, and it was this mix that ROTTEN MIND displayed when doing live performances in Australia, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, UK, USA, Spain and Czech Republic.
With “Rat City Dog Boy”, ROTTEN MIND return to their musical roots. There are a few new influences in there, to create an album that sounds mostly vintage 70’s punk that to me will appeal mostly both fresh and vintage, making the band more appealing to old-school punks than to broader indie-rock fans.

NIGHT BEATS, the Texas-born brainchild of Danny Lee Blackwell, did release their fifth full-length album "Outlaw R&B" on June 4th, 2021 via Fuzz Club. Made during the height of the California wildfires (where Danny now resides), rioting in the streets, and a nation in lockdown, "Outlaw R&B" deals in psychedelic and R&B-infused garage-rock and raucous technicolor rock’n’roll sound that’s “bathed in post-apocalyptic bliss”.
The album arrives following the 2019 and fourth "Myth Of A Man" LP (produced by Dan Auerbach of THE BLACK KEYS and released by Heavenly Recordings) as well as last year’s ‘That’s All You Got’ 7”. The other album now behind them are their self-titled 2011 debut, 2013’s "Sonic Bloom" and 2016’s "Who Sold My Generation".
NIGHT BEATS have garnered a reputation as one of the finest purveyors of contemporary rock’n’roll hedonism around.

His vocals are very hypnotic and the rhythms he creates are like a psychedelic drug. It’s a gorgeous batch of tunes that perfectly balances on the line without getting cheezy or over-made. An album that is riotous, acid-fried rock’n’roll to lose your head to and leave this world for almost 40 mins and eleven guitar-heavy tunes, each wearing magic and spellbinding hooks. "Outlaw R&B" is made with a big heart and a happy soul!

Saturday and you won‘t find Farfisa organs, amps or fuzz pedals in the tidy garages of respectable Viennese mansion blocks (that‘s where the keep their Mercs), and there‘s definitely no surfing in Graz. The spiritual home of garage punk this clearly isn‘t, and yet there is a band that has set out to turn their Austrian hometowns into unlikely breeding grounds for undomesticated, irrepressible teenage noise.

Sun is shining, the spring is finally here for real. So it was more than welcome to get some Blues-Roots with the American rock duo THE BLACK KEYS and their new album "Delta Kream".
"Delta Kream" is the tenth album, released through Easy Eye Sound and Nonesuch Records on May 14, 2021.
"Delta Kream" is a cover album with their own rendition of the Mississippi artists who inspired them over the years. So this is an album full of hill country blues songs. Here you get some covers of songs by Kimbrough, Burnside, Mississippi Fred McDowell, and others. Each of its 11 tunes sounds like it's really handpicked from their stash of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney’s favorite tunes, with some nice company of the slide guitarist Kenny Brown, who is known to be playing on some of Kimbrough’s finest albums and the bassist Eric Deaton, a former sideman to R. L. Burnside.
The album opens up with the first single, a cover of "Crawling Kingsnake", a version of Big Joe Williams and John Lee Hooker, where they do an excellent rendition. "Mellow Peaches" is another nice one of Big Joe Williams's creations. Dirty hilly billy blues in the best possible way. Junior Kimbrough is the one who was the inspiration to all this started and his tunes are the most played in their own versions, like the tunes "Stay All Night" that turns out to be more lay back than Junior Kimbrough even if the soundscape is way bigger. The same goes with "Do The Romp", "Sad Days, Lonely Nights", "Walk With Me" and the very soulful and sensitive version of "Come And Go With Me". R. L. Burnside's tunes "Poor Boy A Long Way From Home" have a great stomp, while he sings with a light voice on "Going Down South". Mississippi Fred McDowell's tune "Louise" gets a sleek caress and the old Ranie Burnette's blues classic "Coal Black Mattie" with the marvelous lyrics gets a really dirty rendition. "Delta Kream" is an excellent blues honor record, even if this might feel like a collection of single b-sides and bonus tunes for many KEYS fans. But I do like what I hear and during these spring days it works brilliantly and I'm almost sure this will be played a lot in the upcoming months.

DEATH is an American rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan, United States, in 1971 by brothers Bobby (bass, vocals), David (guitar), and Dannis (drums) Hackney.
The trio started out as a funk band but switched to rock after seeing a concert by THE WHO. Seeing Alice Cooper play was also an inspiration. Music critic Peter Margasak retrospectively wrote that David "pushed the group in a hard-rock direction that presaged punk, and while this certainly didn't help them find a following in the mid-70s, today it makes them look like visionaries." They are seen by many people as one of the first punk bands in the world. The band broke up in 1977 but reformed in 2009 when the Drag City label released their '70s demos for the first time.
Today's tune "Keep On Knocking" is taken from the album "...For The Whole World To See", a studio album released in 2009 and consisting of various demos originally recorded in the mid 1970s.
In 1975 the band entered a studio to record a 12-song album. After refusing to change their group's name, DEATH was turned away by Clive Davis of Columbia Records. Only seven songs were completed and the album was never released. The surviving songs were released as ...For the Whole World to See in 2009 by Drag City.
Just prior to and right after the record's release, the songs on "...For The Whole World To See" were performed live by Rough Francis, a band formed by the three sons of Death's original bassist. With the record's critical acclaim and praise from many other musicians, the two surviving members of Death reformed the band with a new guitarist to promote the record themselves.

The garage rock duo BLACK PISTOL FIRE is working and the sixth album is on the way.
A single "Hope In Hell" has been released in July, a tune that was written and recorded almost 2 years ago, this song resonates with BLACK PISTOL FIRE as a band in a much deeper way today. The band was wrestling with many internal struggles during the writing process, the words feel even more relevant during these strange times.
It’s been a year since we last heard from Kevin McKeown and Eric Owen, the guitarist and drummer behind BLACK PISTOL FIRE, and three years since they dropped their excellent full-length "Deadbeat Graffiti" in 2017.
The Austin-based group has finished their sixth studio album will be released next winter on Black Hill Records, the album which was co-produced by Jacob Sciba (Gary Clark Jr, GOV’T MULE, Warren Haynes) and mixed by Vance Powell (THE WHITE STRIPES, RACONTEURS, Chris Stapleton).

The British garage rock band BLACK MOTH released their third album entitled "Anatomical Venus" a year ago. The ten-track album got plenty of spins during the time, but got filed away in the big stream of new stuff.
Their single "Sisters Of The Stone" was going to be a tune that was supposed to be publish some time ago but never did, so I thought it is time to let it loose.

"Uncertainty Is Bliss" is the Relapse debut from German psychedelic, hard rock trio BLACK SALVATION. The band was formed in Leipzig in 2009 by Paul Schlesier, BLACK SALVATION’s early years pivoted on jamming gritty dirges, à la ELECTRIC WIZARD, and elongated, repetition-based space-outs. Over the next few years, the Germans, with bassist Birger Schwidop and drummer Christian Seitz in tow, honed their craft and assisted in the foundation of Into Endless Chaos (IEC), a DIY organization of Leipzig-based counter-culture musicians and artists. Confident in their heavy wander and galvanized by their IEC interactions, BLACK SALVATION released their debut album, In Deep Circles, without label support in 2014.
For new album "Uncertainty Is Bliss", Schlesier and Schwidop wrote together—drummer Seitz had already exited. Finding capable drummers was relatively easy, but getting the right fit, both musically and philosophically, proved to be a challenge. So, Schlesier and Schwidop kept BLACK SALVATION’s newest odes to the uncharted simple but imaginative. The result was a puzzle of drums, overdubbed bass, fuzzy yet nimble guitar, and Schlesier’s baritone vocals. The glint of genius in the early versions of ‘In a Casket’s Ride,’ ‘Leair,’ ‘A Direction is Futile,’ and ‘Floating Torpid’ was all too real, but BLACK SALVATION needed the right drummer—a skinsman with significant swing and a sizable attitude—to send them into the stratosphere. Enter Uno Bruniusson.
With Bruniusson behind the kit and the vibes at 11, BLACK SALVATION wasted little time—a week, basically—before entering an unnamed rehearsal room (not a studio proper) to track "Uncertainty Is Bliss". They had as long as they needed, but environmentally it wasn’t the best place to record a trans-genre, beyond-space masterpiece. For eight days, BLACK SALVATION fought the confines of the rehearsal room. But between high-end mics and vintage, if temperamental 8-track Fostex tape machine, they emerged with a modern-day gem of psychedelic hard rock madness. The songs were eventually transferred to computer, where the finishing touches—overdubs and vocals—were constructed for mixing and mastering aces Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona (TRIBULATION, IN SOLITUDE) and Pieter Kloos (SUNN O))), THE DEVILS BLOOD).

The German Garage Rock Duo THE PICTUREBOOKS have released a new single "Electric Nights", the a second glimpse on their upcoming album "The Hands Of Time", out March 8th, 2019.
“’Electric Nights’ is about getting lost and driving endless miles through endless nights without any purpose or destination other than simply losing yourself and finding the truth in the present instead. We’ve all been there and once we fixed the theme, the music came naturally. We wrote and recorded the song in less than a day,” comments THE PICTUREBOOKS.
Along with the upcoming album, THE PICTUREBOOKS recently announced their UK & EU Headline Tour and before releasing "The Hands Of Time" THE PICTUREBOOKS will be on the road in Canada together with MONSTER TRUCK, see all the dates below.
