"Madness Is Too Pure" is the second album from Swedish MAIDAVALE. The band took Europe with storm with captivating performances and their critical acclaimed debut album "Tales From The Wicked West".
The music on ”Madness Is Too Pure" is deeply rooted in the monotone union between the rhythm section of Johanna Hansson and Linn Johannesson and the hypnotizing vocals of Matilda Roth. Adding Sofia Ströms dazzling guitar playing gives depth to the musical landscape of MAIDAVALE. "Madness Is Too Pure" moves MAIDAVALE closer to bands such as NEU!, AMON DUUL II, PUBLIC IMAGE LTD, and SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES.
The album was produced and mixed by Jari Haapalainen who has previously worked with artists such as Ed Harcourt, CAMERA OBSURA, JOHNOSSI, SAHARA HOTNIGHTS, TRUE MOON, and THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY. The album was recorded during six days in November 2017 at The End Studio outside of Lund, Sweden, engineered by Tommy Tift (VÅNNA INGET, TRUE MOON).
Did you know that Maida Vale is an affluent residential district comprising the northern part of Paddington in west London, west of St John's Wood and south of Kilburn. Maida Vale has been used for the filming of a number of films and television programmes: Certain scenes in the 1966 film Georgy Girl were filmed outside a canal-side house on Maida Avenue. Several scenes from Paddington (2014) were filmed in Maida Vale, including using the tube station (mocked up to appear to be the fictional 'Westbourne Oak' station) and a police chase on Castellain Road. In the television adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel The Child in Time the family was depicted as living in Maida Vale and several of the exterior scenes were shot around Elgin Avenue. Scenes from The Mummy (2017) starring Tom Cruise were shot in the Warrington pub in Maida Vale. Scenes for film In Darkness (2018) starring Natalie Dormer were filmed at a flower shop (made to appear to be a coffee shop) on Lauderdale Parade. Scenes from The Romanoffs TV series (2018) were filmed at Paddington Academy in 2018
