SKIN TUXEDO is a Danish alternative rock/stoner band that started as a one-man-band in late 2012. Inspired by the sound of the '60s & '70s combined with a more modern feel. Ivan Boel Stenger (DELIRUM CORDIA) started writing songs and with little effort, he suddenly had a handful of songs that were beginning to define his new project: SKIN TUXEDO.
Soon after starting this project Ivan got a record deal with Sliptrick Records and released the self-titled EP Skin Tuxedo 25. march 2013. Since then the band has grown with guitarist Jesper Dalsgaard, drummer Frank Beck Hansen and the bassist Henrik "Duplo" Sørensen.
The bands goal is to make relevant and honest music, whether it´s beautiful, atmospheric and melancholic songs or just plain rock songs.

Monday, new week, no "Record Of The Week", it's the day before the countdown starts, so today we play something that didn't reach up to the glorious 50 best albums of 2018.
And as usual, too much music, to little time. It's almost that I would like to play 2 songs every day to cover it all up, or make the album of the day, naa this is enough, but still, the count of all good records that were released during 2018 is incredible.
So to create together a neatly top 50 list have been very difficult to complete, it feels that it has been harder than ever to put together, am I getting older or is there to much to choose from, well I guess I need to narrow down my music taste to make life easier every year when it comes to this, you know, when you compare albums to each other it's pretty easy to decide which one is the better one and gets a better position, but after a few, it's getting harder and harder, after a bunch of records you get crazy and you will lose track in your count. So after many hours I finally decided my sprawling list of divine music, I hope you will enjoy the upcoming days here at Tune Of The Day!
One album that I have pretty recently start to spinning is MELVINS "Pinkus Abortion Technician", a pretty cool and odd record, check it up if you want something that is not normal. The eight-song album is the band’s first to feature two bass tracks on every song, with the bass players being Steve McDonald (REDD KROSS, OFF!) and Jeff Pinkus (BUTTHOLE SURFERS).
THE GOOCH is an alternative rock formation hailing from Noord Brabant, The Netherlands that is mainly known for combining heavy riffs with all-out-balls-out weirdness, extreme noises, and unfiltered energy. They describe their own music as “Noises dogs seem to like”. Other busybodies and super important peoples. They have been known to compare THE GOOCH to the likes of FU MANCHU, MONSTER MAGNET, and RED FANG. In the past couple years, they shared the stage with bands like THE COSMIC DEAD (UK), KENmode (CA), HARK (UK), they have released an E.P. and a full album.

He had some known siblings, the singer Neneh Cherry (half-sister)
and the singer Titiyo (steph-sister)
Whom I dearly respect, great voices both of em.
Neneh´s best song (what I think) is "7 Seconds" tillsammans med Youssou n´Dour.
Titiyo´s Breaktrough song was "Talking to the man in the moon" But I liked "Come Along".
He was born in Sweden, but then when he was sent to school in New York.
Later on he went back to Sweden.
Got a big hit with his album "Desireless" he got so much work after that album so he worked
it was unbeareble. He still does music and really good songs.

"Plowed" is a song by American alternative rock band SPONGE. The song was released as the second single from the group's debut studio album "Rotting Piñata". "Plowed" was also featured on the band's compilation albums "Molly and Hits & B Sides Volume One".
The song was featured in the 1995 film "Empire Records", but was not present on the film's soundtrack. The song was also featured in the 1998 film "No Looking Back". In 2007, the song was featured in the Cold Case episode "Stand Up and Holler" (season 4, episode 20).
“Plowed” continues to be the band’s signature rock track, having been spotlighted on Guitar Hero’s “Warriors of Rock – 90’s Rock Track Pack” – and on the Paper Jamz Guitar Series 2, in addition to the soundtrack for the Gerard Butler surf movie “Chasing Mavericks.”
The melodic hardcore/metalcore band EVERGREEN TERRACE covered the song in 2004 for their album "Writer's Block".
SPONGE is an American alternative rock band from Detroit, Michigan formed in 1991 by Vinnie Dombroski, Mike Cross, Tim Cross, and Joey Mazzola. All were formerly of the hard rock band LOUDHOUSE. SPONGE was signed to Sony Records in 1994 but have since switched to other labels.
The band recruited Jimmy Paluzzi on drums to round out the lineup. Their debut album, "Rotting Piñata", released in 1994, was a major hit, received heavy play on radio and MTV, and was certified gold by the RIAA. The two biggest singles from that album were "Plowed" and "Molly" but by the end of 1994 Charlie Grover replaced drummer Paluzzi. Their follow-up album was called Wax Ecstatic; the track "Have You Seen Mary" was included in the Kevin Smith film Chasing Amy.
London-based trio PUPPY passed by in haste a few months ago, once again they swashed by, but this time i got them by the tale and gave them a chance for a swing.
"Vol. II" is a five-tune EP, full of heavy and fuzzy guitar riffs that flows around in the delightful alternative 90's rock and pop. Like today's tune "Entombed" where we get a little touch of GHOST vibes in the vocal parts. Another tunes like "My Tree" flirts with ALICE IN CHAINS and "Arabella" where the intro sounds like D.A.D. and continues with something else, a really nice piece of music.

NIGHT RIOTS is an American alternative rock band from San Luis Obispo, California. Formed in 2010, the band consists of Travis Hawley (lead vocals), Nick Fotinakes (guitar), Matt DePauw (guitar), Mikel Van Kranenburg (bass), and Rico Rodriguez (drums).
The music could be compared to THE CURE and THE KILLERS; with Hawley's "emotive vocal style" compared to that of Robert Smith. It's heavy rock synth electronica with a dance feeling.

"Come Undone" is a tune taken from the third collaborative studio album "Hawk" by Scottish indie pop singer Isobel Campbell and American alternative rock musician Mark Lanegan, released on 24 August 2010 on V2 Records. Recorded throughout the United Kingdom and the United States, Hawk features a number of guest musicians, including folk singer Willy Mason, bassist Bill Wells and former SMASHING PUMPKINS guitarist James Iha.
Today's tune "Come Undone" where the power comes from their tension between Isobel Campbell's wispy indie-pop coo and Mark Lanegan's deep blues-grunge growl, enjoy this beautiful rendition.
"Lullaby" is a 1989 single by the British alternative rock band THE CURE taken from their eighth studio album "Disintegration". The song is the most successful single by the band in their home country, reaching number five in the UK charts. Additionally, the music video won the 1990 Best British Video at the 1990 Brit Awards.
The meaning of "Lullaby" has been speculated by fans, including as a metaphor for addiction or depression and Smith has offered multiple explanations as to its theme or content, such as childhood nightmares or abuse. Tim Pope, a long-time collaborator of THE CURE on many of its music videos, interprets "Lullaby" as an allegory for lead singer Robert Smith's druggy past.
For today's tune "Lullaby" a music video was filmed at a sound stage in London, England. It features Robert in bed, in a dream sequence, and the rest of the band playing tin soldiers who sporadically appear throughout the music video for a few seconds. The music video, during which Smith plays both the cannibalistic "spiderman" mentioned in the lyrics (which does not refer to the similarly-named Marvel Comics superhero) and his intended victim, concludes with Smith being swallowed by what appears to be a giant spider. The tune was released 10 April 1989.

When ARCTIC MONKEYS frontman Alex Turner joined forces with his friend, THE RASCALS Miles Kane to form THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS in 2007 they blew the music world away. Epic Ennio Morricone soundtracks met garage rock and sixties baroque pop, with two magnetic frontmen to lead the charge. THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS entered the "Way Out West" stage a week ago, it’s was one of the most vital rock acts playing live this summer.
THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS, are an English band consisting of Alex Turner (ARCTIC MONKEYS), Miles Kane (THE RASCALS), James Ford (SIMIAN), and Zach Dawes (MINI MANSIONS). The band released their debut album The Age Of The Understatement in 2008. Following a lengthy hiatus, they returned with their album Everything You've Come To Expect in 2016.
Today's tune "The Age of the Understatement" is the first single released by THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS. It was released on 14 April 2008 in the United Kingdom on Domino Records. The song is the title track from the band's debut album "The Age of the Understatement".
The Video was Directed by director Romain Gavras, their debut video is as big as Mother Russia, following our intrepid heroes' adventures in Moscow and includes ice skating, an Orthodox priest, Soviet tanks and a chorus of Russian Soldiers.

HüSKER Dü and SUGAR front man Bob Mould have release his 12th solo album "Patch the Sky"
Patch the Sky is described by Mould as the third album in a trilogy, the other two albums being 2012's "Silver Age" and 2014's "Beauty & Ruin". This trilogy of albums began with Mould's signing to Merge Records and recruiting bassist Jason Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster into his recording and touring band.
Bob Mould initially considered making a primarily-acoustic album, much like his 1989 solo debut Workbook. The song "Hold On" dates back to this time, having been written as a "downtempo acoustic song" in 2013.
After the release of Beauty & Ruin, Mould's mother passed away. This, combined with other circumstances in Mould's life like "relationships ending", led to the darker tone of the album.
Recording for the album occurred at Steve Albini's Chicago studio Electrical Audio, with Bob Mould serving as producer and Beau Sorenson serving as engineer.
The title of the album arose out of a vision Mould had, "of when people leave or things end, of something shooting through the 'fabric of the sky' and disappearing. 'Sometimes you think you want to chase it,' he says, meditating on the people or elements you lose along the way in life. 'Sometimes you get right to the edge of it, and sow it back shut and stay on the other side. Does that make sense?' You decide to patch the sky and keep going, instead of shooting through yourself."

FAITH NO MORE proves that sex, drugs and rock and roll are for the retirements as much as for the kids in the hilarious, trippy clip for "Sunny Side Up," off the latest album, "Sol Invictus".
FAITH NO MORE released the re-united "Sol Invictus" in May, where they sounded as dangerous and unstable as ever on a album. The record marked the band's first since 1997's "Album of the Year" and followed a 15-year hiatus, as well as several years on the reunion-tour circuit.

Today's tune "Mercy" is a tune taken from their seventh album, Drones. It was released as the second single from the album on 18 May 2015.
In a press release, the band's frontman Matt Bellamy said of the track, "The opening line of 'Mercy' - "Help me, I’ve fallen on the inside" - is a reference to the protagonist [of the album] knowing and recognising that they have lost something, they have lost themselves." Bellamy continued, "This is where they realise they're being overcome by the dark forces that were introduced in 'Psycho.'"
Muse's seventh studio album 'Drones' was released on June 8, their follow-up to 2012's 'The 2nd Law'.
Speaking previously about the album, Bellamy said that it "explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors".
Bellamy recently claimed that 'Drones' is Muse's best album, admitting, "That’s not something I’ve been able to say for a while.

Saturday, a day where you should relax and do something fun, like visiting a record fair, I choose the record fair today. So I give you a happy and nice song with a South African rock band named KONGOS.
KONGOS is a South African alternative rock/kwaito band consisting of four brothers: Johnny (accordion, keyboard, vocals), Jesse (drums, percussion, vocals), Daniel (guitar, vocals), and Dylan Kongos (bass guitar, lap slide guitar, vocals). They spent their childhoods in the city of London and in South Africa. They compose, record and perform in Phoenix, where they have lived since 1996. They graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale and attended Arizona State University. The four men are the sons of singer-songwriter John Kongos. They are of Greek origin and have attended the Greek Saheti school in Gauteng, South Africa. The film Holy Motors used their song "Come with Me Now" in the official trailer. WWE also used this song as the theme for their 2014 pay-per-view event Extreme Rules.
In 2011, KONGOS released their album Lunatic, which featured "Come with Me Now" which was released as a single. With the band performing the song live while opening for American band Linkin Park in South Africa, "Come with Me Now" was considered a fan favorite there though it initially struggled to find an audience in the United States. The band admitted that when "it didn't seem like things were getting along we really lost heart - we were ready to move on to new material".
In early January 2014, the song began receiving airplay in the US, generating major label attention for the band which was eventually signed to Epic Records. It was released to US contemporary hit radio on 15 April 2014.
The song was released in the UK as the lead single off Lunatic on August 17, 2014.

Drones is the upcoming seventh studio album by English alternative rock band MUSE. The album was co-produced by the band and AC/DC producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange and will be released in 8 June 2015. The album art was designed by American artist Matt Mahurin
On their previous albums The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012), Muse experimented with orchestral and electronic music. In December 2013, Muse released a live album and film, Live at Rome Olympic Stadium; songwriter Matthew Bellamy said the band wanted the live album "to capture some of the extremes of what we've been doing since we want to go in a different direction in the future."
Muse began writing their seventh album soon after the Rome concert.
Bellamy stated that the album "should be something that really does strip away the additional things that we've experimented with on the last two albums. ... I kind of feel like it will be nice to reconnect and remind ourselves of just the basics of who we are." Answering fan questions on Twitter in September 2014, Bellamy said the album's themes include deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3.
In March 2015, Bellamy said:
To me, "Drones" are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.
