Voïvod - Planet Eaters

Closing in on 40 eventful years of existence, Canada's progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD introduce their 15th (!) studio album “Synchro Anarchy”. Following 2018's highly praised and Juno Award winning “The Wake” album and 2020’s stellar “Lost Machine - Live” release, the brand new 9 tracks composing the kaleidoscopic sonic monster that is “Synchro Anarchy” reaffirm VOIVOD as one of the most fervently creative bands on the planet.

“Synchro Anarchy” album recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Studio - Québec - Canada / https://radicart.net/ Mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering - California - U.S.A / http://www.maorappelbaum.com/

“Synchro Anarchy” is available as ltd. edition 2CD Mediabook with extended booklet and “Return To Morgöth - Live 2018” bonus disc, CD, 180g LP with A2 Poster as well as Deluxe Digital Album (2CD) and Digital Album. Get it here: https://voivodband.lnk.to/SynchroAnarchyID

VOIVOD drummer Michel “Away” Langevin commented about the track and the video as follows: “On April 21st, 2021 an animated video for the song “Nothingface” popped up online (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uqv9G24YzI). The video was done by Pierre Menetrier on an Amiga computer in 1991, which I thought was beyond cool. The spectacular imagery and visual effects were just perfect for a Voïvod song. After wrapping up the recording and mixing of the “Synchro Anarchy” album, we all agreed on “Planet Eaters” as the first single/video. We thought the song had a vintage “Nothingface”/”Hatröss” vibe, so I immediately contacted Pierre and asked him if he could make a video for the song. Once again, the result is just mind-blowing. You just can’t get more Voïvodian than that!”

Today's tune "Planet Eaters", taken from the upcoming album "Synchro Anarchy", Out February 11th, 2022.

TEKE::TEKE - Meikyu

TEKE::TEKE is a 7 piece band featuring a Shinobue (traditional Japanese Bamboo flute), a Taisho Koto and a trombone alongside fuzzy guitars and a rhythm section to create a sound reminiscent of 1960’s – 70’s era psychedelic Japanese soundtracks, while remaining undeniably modern and punk. Their debut album entitled "Shirushi" (or ‘signs of great changes to come’) takes you through a vast array of imagery with themes of identity, spirituality, rebirth and the profound exploration of oneself.

TEKE::TEKE was first an homage to legendary Japanese guitarist Takeshi ‘Terry’ Terauchi and has quickly evolved into a band of its own by blending Japanese ‘Eleki’ with elements of modern music such as shoegaze, post-rock and noise. The band is a cocktail of 7 musicians from well known Montreal projects (Pawa Up First, Patrick Watson, Boogat, Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra and Dynamo Cleoptara).

TEKE::TEKE:
Serge Nakauchi Pelletier ...Lead guitar & additional vocals
Hidetaka Yoneyama ...Rhythm guitar & back vocals
Mishka Stein ...Bass
Ian Lettre ...Drums, percussion & piano
Etienne Lebel ...Trombone & back vocals
Yuki Isami ...Flute, Shinobue, Taisho koto, Koto, Shamisen & keys
