Solitude - Under Fading Skies
Since 2006 they have developed their own melodic sound with heavy breakdowns and a
great mix of screams and clean vocals. Their first full-length album "Tied To The Anchor" containing the single "Ricochet" was released in March 21, 2012!
The guys also have filmed a Video of the tune "Under Fading Skies" that I believe is counted as single nr 2. This tune also qualifies for Tune Of The Day and will be todays tune.

Slash - Gotten
A quiet evening at home, that requires some soft music, found this video with Slash released yesterday.
Slash released this special video to help raise awareness for the plight of homeless youth in Los Angeles. To download "Gotten" and donate to LAYN, please click here, for more information on Los Angeles Youth Network, please visit http://layn.org/donate.html.
The tune is taken from his debut solo record and it's done with Adam Noah Levine who is best known as the front man and guitarist for the pop rock band Maroon 5. “Gotten” was remixed at Astound Studios from its original version using GenAudio’s unique 3D spatial audio technology, AstoundSound®, which is based on over two decades of R&D into how the brain processes audio information.
Watch the behind-the-scenes footage from the "Gotten" video shoot.
Beside that, Slash will soon release the upcoming second studio album "Apocalyptic Love", so i guess we will soon hear and see more of this fellow around here.

Abramis Brama - Mamma Talar
What about the future for Tune Of The Day is a bit uncertain, I simply have too many irons in the fire as the Swedish spoken language says. Do you have any suggestions? We receive them more than happy.
For five years I have been writing this blog.
For five years I have learned from other blogs about music.
For five years I have discovered new friends.
For five years I have shared all that I know, good or bad, for anyone to read and hopefully learn something.
For five years I have met some of the greatest people I know.
Thanks.
Heya There, Thetania here ;-) This has been a pleasure for me to share the music and events that Ive been trough. I want to thank all the viewer/listener that we ever had, and also Stones that did the most of this blog.

Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight
As we do a tune from every gig we work on I was suposed to do Ildivo...
Hm....not really my cup of tea... BUT I read a book :-D
"Eric Clapton, The Autobiography" A real great book, I read it in 2 days.
Its his full story from when he was born to present time.
Time to time very strong and sad story but it really got to me.
He was raised by her granparents, which he didnt know b4 10 years old.
The woman who was his "sister" was his mum. He grew up in a English town Ripley.
Many storys about other artists and specially George Harrison and also Jimi Hendrix.
I saw Eric last time he performed in Stockholm last year, a wonderful gig.
The tune of today have a special story, He and his girlfriend Patti was suposed to go on this party and Patti took sooo long time to put make up on, get the right clothes etc..and Eric was done in a moment and sat there and waited for her to get ready.....and waited and waited....then this tune came around :D
Eric Clapton held a party at his Surrey house celebrating his marriage to Patti Boyd. Clapton had set-up a small stage in the garden and as the evening progressed Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr ended up jamming together along with Clapton, Ginger Baker and Mick Jagger on May 19, 1979. They divorsed 1989.
Now Eric is married to Melia McEnery and still are.
Enjoy,
Hugs Thetania

Pretty Maids - Hell On High Heels
Over the years, Pretty Maids have sold hundreds of thousands of records, but have never broken through in a major way, except in Japan during the 1990s. They have supported well known bands as Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, and Saxon, and were also featured at the 1987 German version of Monsters of Rock, where Metallica headlined along with Deep Purple.
Pretty Maids are currently still active, and their album, Pandemonium, was released through Frontiers Records on May 14, 2010. After a prolonged international touring hiatus before the release of the 2006 Wake Up To The Real World album, the band have every year since been touring their primary markets of Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and Spain.
I May 2010, Pretty Maids released Pandemonium, which was named one of their best albums. Shortly after the release, bass player Kenn Jackson was replaced by Hal Patino (King Diamond).
Celebrating their 30th anniversary, Pretty Maids played a concert at Tivoli, Copenhagen, which featured Rene Shades [Mike Tramp] on bass. Rene Shades has replaced Hal Patino.
And a few days ago they release « It Comes Alive » - the band’s first ever audio-visual release, to celebrate their 30th Anniversary. Check the trailer below todays tune.
Todays tune "Hell On High Heels", is taken from the eight album Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing, released in 1999.
Out on Frontiers Records in Europe on March 23rd 2012 and in Noth America on March 27th 2012

Screaming Lord Sutch - Jack the Ripper
During the 1960s, Screaming Lord Sutch was known for his horror-themed stage show, dressing as Jack the Ripper, pre-dating the shock rock antics of Alice Cooper. Accompanied by his band, the Savages, he started by coming out of a black coffin. Other props included knives and daggers, skulls and "bodies". Sutch booked themed tours, such as 'Sutch and the Roman Empire', where Sutch and the band members would be dressed up as Roman soldiers.
Despite self-confessed lack of vocal talent, he released horror-themed singles during the early to mid-'60s, the most popular "Jack the Ripper", covered live and on record by garage rock bands including the White Stripes, the Gruesomes, the Black Lips and the Horrors for their debut LP.
Screaming Lord Sutch at London Rock & Roll Show - 1972, were he is performing "Great Big Coffin" and "Looking for Mary" This clip is just marvelous, check it up.
The London Rock and Roll Show was a concert held at Wembley Stadium in London, England on August 5, 1972. It was the first ever concert held at the stadium.
The concert included performances by major performers including Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and Bill Haley and His Comets. The concert ended with an extended performance by Chuck Berry, who at the time was enjoying major chart success in Britain and the US with his "My Ding-a-Ling". Other established rock and roll acts were The Platters, The Drifters and The Coasters. Roy Wood's new band Wizzard, only formed a few weeks previously, also made their live debut at the show.
The show was opened by MC5, who were not over-popular with the crowd. Little Richard also got booed when he stopped singing rock and roll and jumped on top of his piano. As did a very new Gary Glitter, with The Glitter Band.
The concert was filmed and released in 1973 as The London Rock and Roll Show, directed by Peter Clifton. Although no soundtrack release occurred at the time the film was made, one was finally issued in the early 2000s, followed by several different releases with different combinations of performances.
Anyway, todays tune "Jack the Ripper", released as a 7" single in the UK and Germany in 1963 on Decca. The song was banned by the BBC upon its release.

Paradise Lost - Honesty In Death
Commented guitarist Gregor Mackintosh: "The new album was again produced by Jens Bogren and is influenced by classic doom metal and classic metal. I would say it is more melodic than the last record whilst retaining the heaviness. There are lots of guitar solos and melodies.
Todays tune "Honesty In Death" is the first video taste from "Tragic Idol" Enjoy

Mirror Queen - From Earth Below
"From Earth Below", is a fairly traditional-sounding album with a seventies hard rock sound that meets the eighties. Influenced by such 70’s legends as Hawkwind, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, Captain Beyond but with a slightly more modern touch such as Motorpsycho. The band plays an enjoyable music that should fall all retro-supporters on the lip.
Original members Kenny Kreisor (flying V, vocals) and Jeremy O'Brien (drums) have been joined by Dave McGauley on bass and Steve Austin (ex-Pink Swords of Gearhead Records) on second guitar.
Together they transcend the sameness of much of today's stoner scene, blasting the audience by including songs with the volume and adding hooks to the timeless riffs.
Todays tune it the title track from the album "From Earth Below"

Europe - Not Supposed To Sing The Blues
Today a video has been released from the Swedish band Europe!
And I can tell u this much, that its really good and bluesy.
Its time that peeps get rid of their believe that Europe is a nice boy band...
Since 2004 they changed their music a lot. The music nowa days is something else than Final Countdown.
Europe are going to release the new album, "Bag of Bones" (Gain / Sony Music)
It will be released on April 25.
The disc is the band's ninth studio album is recorded in Atlantis Studio and produced and mixed by legendary Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Black Stone Cherry).
Kevin Shirley has this time elicited a bit more edgy and bluesy sound of the band. This, combined with Joey Tempest always so great melodies and John Norums guitar playing of world class standard. On the album including guest appearances as blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa and Kiss mythical drummer Anton Fig on percussion.
Regarding the new CD title, EUROPE drummer Ian Haugland said, "It's not [called 'Bag Of Bones'] because we all have lost tons of weight or found a new interest in archeology or dogs... It's just because it sounds fuckin' cool!"
More info @ Homesite.
