Black Country Communion - Love Remains
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION's have released a studio video for "Love Remains", a great tune a little outside the normal songs that they usually have. The tune is taken from the band's fourth album, "BCCIV", which was released last September via Mascot Records.
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION is the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE), drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER), Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER, BILLY IDOL) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa.
Glenn Hughes tells that "Love Remains" is a very personal song for him.
"I wrote this song for my Dad on the flight back to the UK for his Memorial Service. When I went to record it, my Mom had also just passed away. So I sang it for the both of them. I was installed with a greater sense of gratitude. I used a mid-falsetto vocal on the chorus to add sensitivity to the melody that I had written. The content is quite simple. When the last breath is taken only love remains."
Enjoy today's tune!

Black Country Communion - Collide
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION (BBC) is an earth-shattering combination of American and British rock influences—a bona fide super group that conveys to the world a simple but important message: These four icons prove that Hard rock is alive and well in the 21st century. Their communion together forms something that is greater than the sum of its parts, creating a legacy being cemented within the halls of music history.
The band took a hiatus in 2013 and focused on their successful solo careers. Recently, BCC recorded a new Studio album and they are excited to perform on stage together again on KTBA IV in February 2018. The reputation they’ve cultivated, not only as amazing songwriters, but as a powerful live act, is only exceeded by their dedication to their craft, and a willingness to challenge and motivate each other to make the best music they can.
“We had around 4 months to write this album, and I think the results speak for themselves,” comments Glenn Hughes. “All four of us wanted to make a record that stood up to the first three albums, however, the new album is more of a progression, as we wanted to be careful not to repeat the previous albums. A lot has happened since we last recorded the Afterglow album in 2013, so, in many ways, the new album shows BCC with a much harder, riffier and bigger and bolder sound. If you’re looking for a folk album, this ain’t the one.”
The band assembled to record ‘BCCIV’ at Cave Studios in Los Angeles in January 2017. The album was mixed at Cave Studios in Sydney in March. The songs on BCCIV will appeal to all fans of high quality hard rock, also those that admire singers of distinction. Hughes is not known as The Voice of Rock for nothing.
In terms of content, ‘BCCIV’ expands upon the progression that took place between the first three albums. With an abundance of heavy riffs, undeniable hooks, melodic flair and infectious choruses, BCCIV is a spectacular album that gets bigger and bolder with repeated spins.
Today’s tune ”Collide” is taken from the upcoming album ”BCCIV”. "I had written the Riff to this song in the morning of the first day of writing BCCIV. Joe came over and I played him the riff, and we finished the song before lunch. I had a feeling that Collide would set the pace for the record”, says Glenn Hughes

Joe Bonamassa - Blues of Desperation
Monday, New Week, time to present "Record of The Week" "Blues of Desperation" is the twelfth studio album by American blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa. It was released on March 25, 2016 through J&R Records. "Blues of Desperation" is recorded in just five days in Nashville with the producer Kevin Shirley where Bonamassa give us 11 excellent blues rock tunes that are filled with his marvellous guitar spells, all together with his band members bassist Michael Rhodes, keyboardist Reese Wynans, horn players Lee Thornburg, Paulie Cerra and Mark Douthit, background singers Mahalia Barnes, Jade McRae and Juanita Tippins all this is backed by the dual drummers, Anton Fig (David Letterman's house band) and Greg Morrow.
"Blues of Desperation" is simply an excellent blues rock album. I must say that Bonamassa's resume is pretty impressive, he continues to be creative and interesting album after album.
The record features, astonishing, cutting edge blues musicianship from Bonamassa and his band. The album kicks of with the barreling rocker "This Train" with some excellent slide guitar work and the searing blues-rock riff driven "Mountain Climbing" to the wonderful laid back car song "Drive", a tune that you will get goose bumps if you turn it up during driving. The album continues with great slow blues rocker "No Good Place For The Lonely".
He blazes across new horizons of blues-rock on songs like the stirring Americana tune "The Valley Runs Low" and the piano blues tune "Livin’ Easy" and more classic blues tune like "You Left Me Nothin' But The Bill And The Blues" and "What I’ve Known For A Very Long Time" to the modern touch of heavy blues rhythms like the title track "Blues of Desperation" along with "Distant Lonesome Train" and "How Deep This River Runs"
Summary: If there is one Blues album that you are going to buy 2016, then is no doubt "Blues of Desperation" with Joe Bonamassa
Today's tune "Mountain Climbing" is taken from this weeks Record Of The Week, the brand new studio album "Blues of Desperation", enjoy!

Jimmy Barnes - Going Down Alone
Hindsight sees Jimmy surrounded by family and friends, revisiting some of the biggest hits from throughout his solo career, along with a few deeper cuts and personal favourites. Family includes daughter Mahalia, son David Campbell and brother-in-law Diesel. And the friends include Keith Urban, The Living End, Tina Arena, Steven Van Zandt, Joe Bonamassa, Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain of Journey and many more.
As for the songs, most are icons in their own right: "No Second Prize", "Working Class Man", "I'd Die To Be With You Tonight", "Lay Down Your Guns", "Good Times", to name a few.
Thirty years after setting out to claim some history of his own, Jimmy Barnes is sounding better than ever. And his greatest hits have never sounded as good as they do with a little help from his family and some famous friends, on Hindsight.
Barnes explains the thought process behind creating a collaborative album of his own tracks:
“I wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary… There was talk of a tribute album, but that idea would have taken me out of the picture. So then I thought of a much better idea – I’ll get all my favourite artists and sing with them!”
Barnes’ 40 year career means he is no stranger to the stage, having recently shared the bill with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Hanging Rock in Victoria and later on at Mt Smart Stadium in New Zealand. Aside from his own tour dates, Barnes will also be a special guest for The Rolling Stones on 25 October at Adelaide Oval as part of their massive ‘14 On Fire’ tour.
As successful as his body of studio work has proven so far, what the stats and official accolades don’t show, but everyone knows, is that Jimmy Barnes is primarily a primal live act. Along with all the hit records and anthemic songs, there’ve been literally thousands of live shows. And as the majority of us have witnessed firsthand, there’s nothing quite like experiencing Jimmy Barnes in concert. He never leaves anyone in any doubt of exactly who is, and always has been, the hardest working man in rock & roll. It’s what’s made Jimmy Barnes arguably the most revered and loved entertainer this country has produced (thank you, Scotland!).
The two time ARIA Hall of Fame inductee (with Cold Chisel in 1993 and as a solo artist in 2005) shows no signs of slowing down in 2014. The 30:30 Hindsight tour will see Jimmy Barnes performing in some of Australia’s most iconic rock venues doing what he loves – and does best. Tickets are on sale from Wednesday 13 August, don’t miss out!
Barnes explains:
"These songs are important to me - I wouldn't go out there and change the essence of the songs," says Jimmy. "But I didn't bring in all these great artists to tell them what to do - I'm actually working with them because I'm learning from them. It was like, 'What are we going to do with this and have fun with it?' They sound like new songs now and really fresh to sing," Jimmy beams.
Todays tune "Going Down Alone" with Journey guys Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain plus Joe Bonamassa. The tune is taken from the 30th anniversary album "Hindsight", which will be out on Oct 27.
While I was in America earlier this year, I wanted to tip my hat to an old friend Jonathan Cain. Freight Train Heart was a really big record for me, one of the best records I’ve ever made, and a lot of that record was written with Jonathan Cain, who was the piano player in The Babys and then Journey. So Jonathan and I got together with Neal Schon, the guitar player from Journey, and we made the Freight Train Heart album together. So I got those guys in to record "Going Down Alone". It’s one of my favourite songs and the guys helped me breathe new life into it.”

Joe Bonamassa - Different Shades Of Blue
New week, Monday, which means that we will present this weeks "Record Of The Week"
Joe Bonamassa’s latest contribution "Different Shades Of Blue" (Released: September 22, 2014) is this weeks "Record Of The Week".
The guitar virtuoso releases a new album, fans of Bonamassa have never had to wait too long to hear new material. He is incredibly productive, releasing a new album almost every year, the music he releases are of very high standard and have not encountered a single fiasco yet, knock on wood.
"Different Shade of Blue" delivers a familiar compilation of soulful, blues rock that follows the same route as the previous works with Joe Bonamassa. The album contains a collection of songs shaped with skilled musicianship and personal lyrical themes that is very common to Joe Bonamassa.
The album mixes the different blues ingredients captured by a century to create an album where we hear modern blues meets it's roots. With all the different directions that the album takes, you never lose interest. He leads the soul and spirit through modern blues no one else can in today's market. It’s clear that Joe Bonamassa is a talented guitarist and that fans of him and guitar playing blues should own this album.
"It's been a while since I've been involved in the writing on an entire album. So I decided I wanted to make a completely original blues album," said Bonamassa. "I've really had to push myself to make everything I do better than the last project. I know the fans expect it. And I feel like I owe it to the fans to give them an original record after all these years."
"Different Shade of Blue" was recorded at Studio At The Palms in Las Vegas, NV, the album was produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin), who has helmed Bonamassa’s last fifteen projects including his solo projects and collaborations with Black Country Communion and Beth Hart. To compliment Bonamassa’s signature guitar style and vocals, Shirley brought together a group of musicians including Reese Wynans (organ, piano), Carmine Rojas (bass), Michael Rhodes (bass), Anton Fig (drums, percussion), Lenny Castro (percussion), Lee Thornburg (trumpet, trombone), Ron Dziubla (saxophone), the Bovaland Orchestra (strings), and Doug Henthorn and Melanie Williams (background vocals).
Todays tune "Different Shades Of Blue" is the the title track of this weeks "Record Of The Week", a Blues tune with modern influences, neat and slow with great riffs and love full touch.

Beth & Joe - Nutbush City Limits
Much buzzed about singer-songwriter Beth Hart, known for her raw and powerful blues-rock sound, and guitarist Joe Bonamassa, one of the best guitarists of his generation, did released their sophomore album of classic soul covers Seesaw on May 21, 2013 Seesaw is the follow up to 2011's Don't Explain, on which Slant called Hart "a simply peerless frontwoman".
Beth Hart continues to explore her blues and soul roots via 11 cover versions of her favorite tracks on Seesaw, her second album with blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Seesaw opens with one of Hart's biggest inspirations Billie Holiday's "Them There Eyes" a rock blues take on Ike & Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits", the Buddy Miles penned "Miss Lady," The influence of Janis Joplin and Etta James is evident on the powerful ballads "If I Tell You I Love You" and "A Sunday Kind of Love." The album closes with an eerie version of the anti-lynching poem from 1937 associated with Billie Holiday, "Strange Fruit."
Also returning from the Don't Explain album are Bonamassa's band containing of Anton Fig (drums and percussion), Blondie Chaplin (guitar), Carmine Rojas (bass), Arlan Schierbaum (keyboards), Lenny Castro (percussion), and Michael Rhodes (bass on "I'll Love You More Than You'll Ever Know").
On todays tune "Nutbush City Limits," Hart wails with an intensity that would make Tina Turner proud.

Europe - Not Supposed To Sing The Blues

Today a video has been released from the Swedish band Europe!
And I can tell u this much, that its really good and bluesy.
Its time that peeps get rid of their believe that Europe is a nice boy band...
Since 2004 they changed their music a lot. The music nowa days is something else than Final Countdown.

Europe are going to release the new album, "Bag of Bones" (Gain / Sony Music)
It will be released on April 25.
The disc is the band's ninth studio album is recorded in Atlantis Studio and produced and mixed by legendary Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Black Stone Cherry).

Kevin Shirley has this time elicited a bit more edgy and bluesy sound of the band. This, combined with Joey Tempest always so great melodies and John Norums guitar playing of world class standard. On the album including guest appearances as blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa and Kiss mythical drummer Anton Fig on percussion.

Regarding the new CD title, EUROPE drummer Ian Haugland said, "It's not [called 'Bag Of Bones'] because we all have lost tons of weight or found a new interest in archeology or dogs... It's just because it sounds fuckin' cool!"
