Christian Mistress - Pentagram and Crucifix

Olympia, Washington’s heavy metal voyagers Christian Mistress delivers unto us their long-awaited Relapse debut Possession. The follow-up to 2010’s critically-acclaimed Agony & Opium, Possession mines deep from the same vein and sees the band standing on the shoulders of metal luminaries of the past. The quintet, lead by powerhouse vocalist Christine Davis and the twin-axe attack of Ryan McClain and Oscar Sparbel, distill traditional heavy metal into the sound of now. Far from being yet another throwback or mere tribute band Christian Mistress’s music is rooted firmly in the present with a respectable and dignified grasp of retrospect.

Christian Mistress will perform at the Roadburn festival in Tilburg, Holland in April. In addition, they will be on the road in other parts Europe that month, including a string of headlining shows with Black Breath. A Swedish date is also booked at L'Orient, Linköping 6 april

Todays tune "Pentagram And Crucifix", the new video from the band. The clip was filmed in the band's hometown and directed by Christine Davis and David Hoekje. "Pentagram And Crucifix" comes off the bands latest release "Possession", which was released on February 28 via Relapse Records.

A note from Oscar:
"We recorded analog," said guitarist Oscar Sparbel, speaking on the band's traditional approach to recording. "It was one of the reasons we chose Tim Green (Melvins, The Fucking Champs, Monotonix) and Louder Studios. We wanted to track on 2-inch tape and not use Pro Tools."

You can pick up a copy of Possession at Relapse here, on iTunes here or try before you buy by listening to the full stream below here, or why not use Spotify.
