Hedvig Mollested Trio - For the Air

From Norway we find a guitarist named Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen, that plays a heavy version of Jazzrock. With one foot in heavy rock and one in jazz they effortlessly manage to combine monster riffs and high energy rock´n´roll with progressive and lyrical modern jazz. Her debut record "Shoot!" is a very intressting record.

She brings heavy, riff-based rock with the lyrical tradition in modern jazz, without necessarily looking for a cross-fertilization. She is a really exciting guitar player, this stunningly beautiful. Ellen Brekken plays electric and acoustic bass and Ivar Loe Bjørnstad is the drummer. The album has a real analog feeling. I really wonder how this would be on Vinyl, lovely i guess.
