"As The Love Continues" is the tenth studio album by Scottish post-rock band MOGWAI, released on 19 February 2021 on Rock Action Records in the UK and Europe, and on Temporary Residence Limited in the US.
The album contains eleven tracks, which consists of mostly instrumental music. Only one track, "Ritchie Sacramento" (see and hear it below) contains clean vocals, sung by Braithwaite and referencing lost friends including David Berman of SILVER JEWS and Scott Hutchison of FRIGHTENED RABBIT. In a statement, Braithwaite said of the song: “‘Ritchie Sacramento”s title came from a misunderstanding a friend of ours had about how to say Ryuchi Sakamoto. The lyrics were inspired by a story Bob Nastanovich shared about his friend and bandmate David Berman who proclaimed ‘Rise Crystal Spear’ as he threw a shovel at a sports car. The song is dedicated to all the musician friends we’ve lost over the years.”
MOGWAI, formed in 1995 in Glasgow. The band consists of Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesizer, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar), and Martin Bulloch (drums).

"Summertime" is an aria composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 opera "Porgy And Bess". The lyrics are by DuBose Heyward, the author of the novel Porgy on which the opera was based, although the song is also co-credited to Ira Gershwin by ASCAP.
The song soon became a popular and much-recorded jazz standard, praised by many Hollywood figures after its premier, including star Robert Cummings who called it "without doubt ... one of the finest songs the composer ever wrote". Gershwin composed the song drawing elements from richly soulful African-American spirituals, the new American jazz of the early 20th century, and Western European opera. Composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim has characterized Heyward's lyrics for "Summertime" and "My Man's Gone Now" as "the best lyrics in the musical theater".
Statistics for the number of recordings of "Summertime" vary by source; while older data is restricted to commercial releases, newer sources may include versions self-published online. The Jazz Discography in 2005 listed 1, official releases, ranking the song fourth among jazz standards. Joe Nocera in 2012 said there were "over 25,000" recordings. Guinness World Records lists the website's 2017 figure of 67,591 as the world record total.
One of those version is made by the American instrumental rock/post-rock band FRIENDS OF DEAN MARTINEZ, a band that featuring members of GIANT SAND, CALEXICO and NAKED PREY. The band combines Americana with electronica, ambient, lounge, psychedelia and dub and intertwines surf rock-inspired lead guitars.
The band was formed in Tucson, Arizona as an experimental side-project. Their debut album, "The Shadow Of Your Smile", was released on the Sub Pop label in 1995.
FRIENDS OF DEAN MARTINEZ have gone through a variety of line-ups in Los Angeles and Austin, Texas before reforming in Tucson. Currently, the band includes Bill Elm on steel guitar and organ, Naim Amor on guitar, Tommy Larkins on percussion, Joe Peña on drums and Thøger Tetens Lund on bass. Former members Burn and Convertino started the band CALEXICO.

With over a decade of experience under its belt, you'd expect Athens, GA's CINEMECHANICA to have a pile of records completed. It'd be entirely reasonable to expect that the decade between the band’s groundbreaking debut "The Martial Arts" and its upcoming self-titled LP would have been separated by more than a single EP, 2008’s double-drum experiment "Rivals". Sure, that'd be reasonable – but CINEMECHANICA is anything but.
While the band cut its teeth as pioneers of the region’s millennial math-rock landscape, those very chompers have now worn into predatorial fangs through years of exhaustive performance, tireless composition, and – most recently – a new level of aggressive sneer honed by Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE) at GodCity Studios.
CINEMECHANICA is centered around the constant trio of guitarist Bryant Williamson, bassist Joel Hatstat, and drummer Mike Albanese (MASERATI). For this year’s release, the band has collaborated with guitarist/vocalist Jordan Olivera (MANRAY), while those live duties will be carried out by Bryan Aiken (LAZER/WULF). The group tends to plot its music meticulously and often works for months for an output of seconds. For lesser bands, that may be overkill; for CINEMECHANICA, it’s a case of intense dedication to its craft that makes for line-drive focus in the studio and on stage. There’s no doubt that storied engineer Kevin Ratterman (YOUNG WIDOWS, MY MORNING JACKET) at Louisville's La La Land could tell this from day one, and by the time Ballou mixed this decade-gestating monster of a record, it was poised to stand easily alongside the man’s legendary output.

BALOTHIZER are a heavy psych power trio who describe their renditions of Greek island Crete’s traditional music as “post- Cretan”. Their following however has come up with a tagline that defines their concoction of thrash metal with acid-blotted Cretan folk… Cretan Music From Hell!
Crete’s musical tradition can with no doubt be described as prosperous and vibrant. Prosperous because it is overwhelmed with a variety of musical timbres; and vibrant, because it still continues to frame the every day life of its residents. Cretan history is engraved in its musical tradition.
Crete has suffered many conquerors; each leaving behind them a pebble, which in time, became part of the island's musical mosaic. The Ancient Greeks left their love for nature and pagan traditions, the Byzantines left introversion and medieval elements; the Venetians left their refined tastes, the Moors left behind them a pirate mentality and the Ottomans left an oriental flavour. After centuries of conquests, the inhabitants of the island developed their own unique musical character - carved from the roughness of rocky mountains, the energy of sea waves, the belligerent mood of the guerrilla, the sorrow and pain of romantic encounters and a Pagan's love of nature. In addition to this unique musical character, the Cretan People also displayed their tremendous fighting spirit by defending their beloved island against the threat of fascism during WWII. The sentiments of anti fascism still live large in the Cretan Spirit. This constantly evolving blend of cultures, over a period of 5000 years, gave birth to the instrument that is pivotal to the music that is so typical of this region;
The Cretan Lute: A steel string bass Mandola played with a highly percussive strumming style. During the 1970's, the musicians of Crete established a trend of combining Cretan lute with valve amplification, and as a consequence this highly aggressive and distinctly resonant sound was born. The very fibre and make up of Cretan culture has so much in common with the modern sentiments of Punk & Rock'n'Roll that it became an irresistible temptation to this multifarious trio of musicians.

Monday, new week and it's time for another "Record Of The Week".
"May Our Chambers Be Full" is a collaboration between the Kentucky folk singer-songwriter Emma Ruth Rundle & Louisiana sludge/doom rockers THOU. Emma Ruth Rundle is know for her dark lyrics and melancholic solo works and has been releasing big bunch of fantastic albums since starting her solo career. In the other hand we have the sludge/doomers THOU that is one of the most acclaimed and consistent DIY metal bands. A mix between these two oddly couple could be an very intressting machup. But somehow it sounds and feels natural. The slightly blackened smooth voice gives the lead heavy, dark and anxious a completely magical angle that as first I didn't was possible.
"May Our Chambers Be Full" is a seven track album, with a spinning time of thirty six minutes. The album opens up with half pace piece "Killing Floor", which from the begining showcase a great fusion between two respectful parties, where Emma Ruth Rundle's lyrics intertwined with the heavier artillery of THOU musical craftmanship. THOU's vocalist Bryan Funck adds some contrast with screamings and deep growling sounds. The heavy doomy grunge rocker "Monolith" give the album a twist where the mind plays back still images of SMASHING PUMKINS that gets hunted by hormone stint Ozzy. "Out Of Existence" is an epic and atomspheric tune, where Funck’s vocal range is marvelous along with Rundle's softiness. "Ancestral Recall" follows the same line as the previous track but with more darkness. "Magickal Cost" is a real beauty in that opens up as a ballad in the best Chelsea Wolfe way until it blows up similar to a violent oil leak when THOU takes over and when Rundle comes back it returns to the more natural state. The album closes up with the nearly nine minutes "The Valley", a gloomy and powerful piece, atmospheric violin (by Louis Michot) caresses Rundle's silky voice, slips forward slowly on safe feet and just before the end of the song simply take the wrong turn and where the collision is a fact when THOU rides in with brutal guitars. "May Our Chambers Be Full" is a remarkable collaboration between musicians from diffrent gengres that knows how to work together and build on each other's skills.
"May Our Chambers Be Full" was released on October 30, 2020 through Sacred Bones Records as a part of the label's 'Alliance Series'. Recording sessions took place in August 2019 at Hightower Studios in New Orleans.
Sum: If there was ever a album made for these worried times, then "May Our Chambers Be Full" is the one.
"The Helm Of Sorrow" is the companion EP to Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou's 2020 collaborative LP, "May Our Chambers Be Full". It was recorded during the same 2019 sessions that yielded the album, and it includes the project's cover of THE CRANBERRIES' "Hollywood." This EP is included in the DIE HARD version of "May Our Chambers Be Full".

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX is back with a new single/video "Cry Of Love" that is taken from the upcoming album "Ellengæst".
An album that has the difficult task of following 2018’s profound and moving "Great Escape". This new release, though, does not make any attempts in pairing with or succeeding its predecessor. Circumstances largely prevented it anyway. On the day tracking started for "Ellengæst", CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX found themselves without a male lead vocalist and keyboardist. Whereas events of a similar thread would spell doom for most bands, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX leader Justin Greaves took it as an opportunity to tap into his deep network of musician friends. Before he knew it, several prominent guest vocalists were secured, ready and able to lend their considerable talents to: ANATHEMA’s Vincent Cavanagh, GAAHLS WYRD’s Kristian “Gaahl” Espedal, COLISEUM / FOTOCRIME / one-time CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX touring bassist Ryan Patterson, up-and-coming U.K. solo artist Suzie Stapleton, and TRIBULATION’s Jonathan Hultén. The songs are a collection of thoughts and feelings which all relate to how we exist in the world but also it’s about crossing into the other dimensions, how we all have spirits and demons, how we can be strong and also weak. How we miss loved ones and also lament the human race. The artwork by Thana really expresses the theme of the album, it visualizes the spiritual aspect of Ellengæst perfectly. There’s an atmosphere about it that draws you in.

Mastermind Justin Greaves comments on the track: “This is a song about losing a loved family member, but not a human one, it’s about our feline companions. Ryan came back with the words and vocals after I sent him the song and it blew us away. We already connected with Ryan when on tour and being fellow animal lovers and vegans, he, Belinda, and myself have a deep appreciation for speaking out about our animal friends. The song lyrics are about Ryan’s cat Willie who sadly passed away. Coincidentally, at the same time, we (Belinda and myself) lost two of our cat family, Nell, and Tigger (the old three-legged dude who starred on the cover of Horrific Honorifics). So this song is like a coming together to celebrate the love we have for the cats, how we miss them, and how they influence our lives. Joining Ryan on Cry Of Love is our friend and previous collaborator, Suzie Stapleton. Putting her distinctive voice on, giving it another dimension. The video for this fried my brain, I love it so much and so do the rest of the band, Guilherme totally understood what the feelings of the song are about, and he made a beautiful and simple narrative which will touch even the coldest heart. For "Dornenvögel" mastermind J.J. (vocalist of HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY) invited a lot of guest musicians from Lunar Aurora, DOWNFALL OF GAIA to participate with guest vocals on the album.
It is for sure the most diverse album that KARG wrote so far. It’s a steady up and down of negative and melancholic feelings and short glimpses of hope, recited in a quite hysteric way. Every song is a separate, private ,"Dornenvögel" (which is a metaphor in this connection) to KARG, every song treats a different chapter. That’s why the album is called ,"Dornenvögel". A collection of dramas, one followed by the other.”
KARG was founded back in the summer of 2006 as a one-man project. Between 2010 & 2014 KARG was fully formed as a band to play gigs, formally in Germany, Austria and Central Europe. In the years till 2018 KARG was, like in its beginning, held as a one-man project and released two more albums. With the release of KARGs sixth studio album "Dornenvögel".
The musical style of KARG is a furious, hysteric mixture of Atmospheric Black Metal and a huge load of Post Rock, with influences also from Grunge, Shoegaze and Post Punk. The influences from other genres than Black Metal evolved more and more within the last few years but were there in abridged form since day one. Textual KARG always was about the more melancholic side of life, such as broken relationships, lost love, estrangement, drug abuse, loss or suicide thoughts and depression. In contrast to many other bands KARGs lyrics are as equal important than its music is.

"Amoretum Vol. 1", is the fifth BLACK SPACE RIDERS album. It was released January 26, 2018.
The internationally acclaimed predecessor "Refugeeum" brought the band renown with its mixture of thoughtful, sensitive themes and hard, atmospheric rock. Two years have passed since then, two years in which the world has not necessarily become a better place in the eyes of most people.
War, terror, displacement, destruction, rejection, and nationalism dominate the headlines. Or, as a wise little green fellow once said: “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering”. “All you need is love”, countered the BEATLES in 1967. The response of BLACK SPACE RIDERS in 2018 is “Amoretum”, a made-up word comprising “Amor” and “Arboretum” to symbolize a protective garden and a germ seed of love. And so the new song cycle of BLACK SPACE RIDERS is all about the conflict between fear-hate-rejection-darkness on the one hand, and love-empathy-care-light on the other. For, how else should we overcome hate, if not with love? Musically, this conflict is consistently put into practice by a band that beats its own path and is constantly developing. The electronic experiments of the "Beyond Refugeeum" EP of 2016 have been reduced sonically and cleverly integrated into the powerfully sounding songs. Between fat, dirty riffs and trippy delays, everything that sounds good is allowed; the album is interspersed with a flowing groove throughout and an ever-present atmosphere that embraces the listener. Heavy, sometimes proggy, often psychedelic, always engaging and almost catchy and danceable, "Amoretum Vol. 1" takes us by the hand, shows us the dark side, and then wants to give us the hope back that we so often painfully miss.
The album flows from song to song as if from a single cast. The listener wonders after 45 minutes whether everything is really already over, and wants to go back to the beginning again immediately. But of course everything is not over after 45 minutes in the world of BLACK SPACE RIDERS. The band also announces a second chapter for 2018 ... AMORETUM Vol. 2 is waiting for us, while we take pleasure from Vol. 1 and patiently wait for the further work.

Austria's HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY will release their new album ”Arson", on February 16th via AOP Records. The band has released a video for "Heroin Waltz", see it below.
Founded in 2011 in Vienna, Austria, the aim of HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY has always been to create a unique mixture of melancholy and aggression, madness and meaning, wrapped in alternately manic / mellow songs that bridged black metal and atmospheric post-rock. The band was initially begun as a studio project by erstwhile Bifröst member M. S. joined by vocalist / lyricist J. J., and has recently been expanded to a live lineup. With that lineup secured, HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY then embarked upon successful European tours with the likes of A FOREST OF STARS, ELLENDE, FÄULNIS, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT and AGRYPNIE among others, encompassing over 25 countries to date. 2016 was a really successful year for HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY. Their 3rd album “III - Trauma” got great acclaim from critics and audiences and a nominee for the “Amadeus Austrian Music Award”. The recording process of the 4th album “Arson” is fi nished. It is the first time with a studio drummer on a record and no one else could fi t better into the line-up than Kerim “Krimh” Lechner who handles the drums behind SEPTICFLESH and played live with BEHEMOTH. The new album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Daniel Fellner.

I think it is almost impossible to find this warmness and equanimity, as life is nothing but a continuous downward spiral. Upcoming European tour dates for the spring of 2018. The band will be supporting Dutch dark-rock band DOOL and the three week excursion will take place March 2nd through March 18th, with performances in eight different countries.

EVERYTHING IN SLOW MOTION (EISM) is an American music project by former HANDS frontman and Christian metal musician Shane Ochsner from Fargo, North Dakota. The project began in February 2012, and he signed with Facedown Records soon thereafter. EISM first released a studio EP entitled Red in late 2012, and his first studio album entitled Phoenix that released in late 2013.

David Craft states, "While every song on Laid Low is very good, things somehow never quite come together in a cohesive manner. This EP more or less seems to be a random collection of experimental songs rather than a consolidated project. Regardless, the album's softer elements in no way detract from Laid Low's excellence, instead revealing EISM's potential to break into other genres should they continue on this path."

New week, time to crown this weeks "Record of The Week".
TAU CROSS is a punk/metal group of the highest order. Fronted by Rob "The Baron" Miller, vocalist and bassist of the hugely influential UK metallic-punk band AMEBIX, and rounded out by a band that features Michel "Away" Langevin from VOIVOD on drums as well as members of cult crust outfit MISERY by guitarist Jon Misery and Andy Lefton from WAR/PLAGUE. TAU CROSS is the natural evolution of Miller's work in AMEBIX.
The self titled début album filled up with tribal rhythms, searing guitars, punkish post riffs and Miller's huge booming crusty voice all set to an apocalyptic atmosphere to create an instant classic that will satisfy the crustiest punks and the blackest metallers.
Already at the first turn of the record I must say, these guys have fun and I just love Millers voice. It's soar deep and heavy, with a dark crust. He gives TAU CROSS a excellent touch to the melodies. The record keeps a very high class standard, from the start to the unusual end. This is an entirely original work that is the organic fusion of four unique people. They have created an album that walks soulful between crust rock to post metal with gothic influences.
TAU CROSS was formed in 2014 to work on material that I had been working on for a new AMEBIX album, initially recording four tracks in L.A with Roy Mayorga before getting in touch with Andy and Jon with a view to playing the guitar parts. Roy became really busy with his other commitments which opened the conversation with Away, who was immediately in the studio working on the drums for the first group Demo.
They reworked all the songs from that point on, with another drum studio session in Montreal, whilst Andy and Jon set up a new studio for the guitar tracks in Minneapolis. Meanwhile on Skye, Miller was recording the vocals and bass tracks whilst James was in the process of finishing his own recording studio a few miles down the coastline. The demo was sent around three labels before being picked up by Relapse who are now the band's record label. The album details are soon to be announced.we are all very proud of what we have achieved in this short time together and hope that we will be getting out on the road in the coming year.

Today we say hello to four french youngsters in DOT LEGACY! A band that has not really decided which leg they should stand on. Absolutely nothing bad about it, but rather on the contrary, it immediately becomes very interesting, especially if you can deal with all the influences and styles, which these young gentlemen doing splendidly. They have a great attention to the details and arrangements to keep a solid rock base.
These rockers make you jump between Stoner, Noise and even Post-Rock, often using wild or sophisticated subgenres absolved from meaning whatsoever.

pg.lost is a swedish experimental instrumentalism, an four-piece orchestra based in Norrköping, they shares members with Eskju Divine. The music has many directions, floating guitars, great melancholy grinding, devastating rhythms and airy harmonies, a sonic boundries of endless instrumental experiments of prolongi...ng. Their instrumental music has recently been compared to great bands like Explosions In The Sky and Red Sparrowes.
pg.lost recieved a lot of press attention because of an American individual attracting a record deal by falsely using their music as his own.
In 2007 pg.lost released the "Yes I Am EP" on the Swedish label Black Star Foundation. 29th of September pg.lost released their first full lenght album "It's Not Me, It's You!".
2009 pg.lost released their second full lenght album "In Never Out" which consists of over 50 minutes of instrumental music and shows a darker and heavier side of pg.lost. The album was recorded by pg.lost and mixed by Magnus Lindberg at Tonteknik Umeå.
4th of May 2012 pg.lost released their third album "Key". The album was also released on Vinyl, the 1st press (White vinyl, limited to 300 copies) is already sold out. But they are currently pressing a 2nd press with split color effect on the vinyl. Split color between black & transparent clear vinyl. Also some small changes on the artwork. The 2nd press is limited to 250 copies and might sell very fast as well. So please look frequently on pg.lost web page for updates according this. It should be released any day, you should try to get one, i will :)
