God Is An Astronaut - Frozen Twilight

GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT are a 3 piece post-rock band who hail from Glen of the Downs, Ireland, formed in 2002 by Niels and Torsten Kinsella. Their style employs elements of electronic music, krautrock, and space rock, reminiscent of Tangerine Dream. The band currently consists of Niels and Torsten Kinsella and Lloyd Hanney.

Ever since forming 16 years ago, Irish trio GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT has reigned as one of the premier instrumental groups. With its fusion of intense rock instrumentation, ethereal and emotional soundscapes, awe-inspiring dynamics and transfixing melodies.

Each of their prior releases has offered a breath taking sonic journey, and their ninth emotive opus "Epitaph" is set to be release Apr 27, 2018. The amazing cover artwork was painted by French artist Fursy Teyssier. Who has been behind the art of AMESOEURS self titled LP, LES DISCRETS "Virée Nocturne", ALCEST "Autre Temps" among others.

While we are waiting for the new album to be released, we take a nice tune from their previous works.

Today's tune "Frozen Twilight" is taken from the third release and first EP "A Moment of Stillness", released 21 August 2006, enjoy!

Mortichnia - Heir

"Heir to Scoria and Ash" is the black/doom metal five-piece’s debut album by the Irish MORTICHINA. Recorded over a ten day period in December 2014 at trackmix studio, the record was Produced, mixed, mastered by James Kelly (ALTAR OF PLAGUES), engineered by Michael Richards with Catherine Gavin providing Artwork.

MORTICHINA is a pretty new name to the Irish scene, but the members involved are certainly no strangers. Formerly working under the familiar moniker of WOUND UPON WOUND, in late 2014 it was decided a fresh start was needed, so WUW was retired and the latest line-up re-emerged soon after under the name MORTICHNIA.

Inspired by the burning fervour of black metal and the crushing despair of doom metal, "Heir to Scoria and Ash" is a conscious condemnation of human frailty and an awakening of irrefutable regret. Drawing lyrical inspiration from misanthropic instinct, the work presented speaks of sullen wisdom, it's begotten grief sustained by cathartic visions of impermanence. Which apses demands more? No bodies prostrate in twisted reverence before its cold logic.

Mortichnia are: I.D - Vocals L.M - Guitar D.G - Guitar J.H - Bass P.F - Drums.
