Danko Jones - I Want Out

Canadian rockers DANKO JONES have released a music video for their brand new single, "I Want Out", which is the first track revealed from their forthcoming album. The tune is about life as isolated, a true pandemic song. See it below.

The new record, the band's 10th studio album, will be entitled "Power Trio" and is set to be released on August 27th. It also sees the band returning to their original label Sonic Unyon Records.

"Power Trio" was produced by Eric Ratz, who also worked with the band on their 2017 release "Wild Cat and 2015 album "bloodlusty Fire Music". See the tracklisting and watch the new video below:

Included in the video is none other than the hard rock profile and my friend Biffen Jansson from Gothenburg, who has worked with almost all Swedish bands that are something. Of course, he has also been on Danko on tour.

Enjoy today's tune "I Want Out", Video directed by: Patric Ullaeus @ Revolver Film

With a vicious blend of metal in the likes of PANTERA and THE HAUNTED with the fast paced rock of DANKO JONES and a punk fueled in-your-face attitude of MOTÖRHEAD. NALE delivers a high octane album with massive drive, heavy riffs, brutal vocals and groove that will leave necks, and hips, sore for days. This could surly be of one of Sweden’s hottest upcoming acts.

NALE was formed 2007.

Line-up

Danko Jones - My Little RnR

The crazy Canadian hard rock act DANKO JONES have released their new album "Wild Cat", on March 3.

"With Fire Music" (2015), the predecessor to "Wild Cat", DANKO reached their highest chart positions to date in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Finland and also charted in another handful of key territories. The 11-track album is a raw representation of the band's collective musical history and influences, and without a doubt their most solid album yet. In addition to sold out headline tours across Canada and the European continent they have also toured the US, Brazil, Japan, Australia and South Africa and done extensive collaborations with a vast number of great artists. The Canadian trio has spent months on the road with GUNS'N'ROSES, MOTÖRHEAD and VOLBEAT and opened up for THE ROLLING STONES and OZZY.

Tune Of The Day - Top 50 - 2015 (50-41)

Now we almost reached the end of this year, December 16th and during this time of the year it's time to sum it all up and present all the best that 2015 have given us.

Once again it has been a really decent year album wise. Shit loads of money have been spent on records that now is going to fight for the top spots on Tune of the days Top 50 list, yes top 50 this year :) I had really hard to choose this year, to many good records have been released. And of course many great records have unfortunately fallen off the list, but the music heart have decided and now when I look at it, it was not quite what I had expected from the beginning, but what the heck it's my choices and hope that some records might hook you up and that you soon might buy a few of them to support the artists that have put all their soul into the creation of all the wonderful tunes.

First up we present this year's best albums between 50 - 41. Where you get the first 10 at once. Today's tune will be publish later on this evening. So here we go!

50. Imperial State Electric - Honk Machine

"Honk Machine" is a blast of pure rock fun with cherry picks of the best elements of the 60’s & 70’s. classics.

49. Thunder - Wonder Days
The British veteran hard rockers THUNDER releases a real "Wonder" after six year hiatus. "Wonder Days"  is a real contemporary cool back to retro-rock. A great British rock album.

48. Refused - Freedom
After 17 years, REFUSED has returned with a new shape of Freedom that’s just as wild and eclectic as their last.

47. Blackberry Smoke - Holding all the Roses
"Holding All The Roses" is simply a great record that I enjoy listen to. This is the record that could expand their base exponentially.

46. Tallest Man on Earth - Dark Bird is Home
"Dark Bird is Home" is Kristian Matsson's darkest album, but still it's a grandiose master piece in the Singer Song Writer genre.

45. Vidunder - Oracles and Prophets
70's organ stoner rock with loads of raw wonderful riffs.

44. Enslaved - In Times
"In Times" is an experimental metal record with duelling solos and epic keyboard swells.

43. Danko Jones - Fire Music
"Fire Music" is stuffed with clichés but still it's a badass DANKO JONES record!

42. Iron Maiden - The Book Of Souls
"The Book of Souls" is collaborative mindset of 92 minutes of produced heavy metal heaven and it's easy the most confident work since "Brave New World".

41. Beardfish - +4626 - Comfortzone
The Swedish progressive rockers have released an complex and long-winded album that is full of real earworms.

Today's tune comes soonish.

Danko Jones - Do You Wanna Rock

New week and it's time to present this week's "Record of the Week".

"Fire Music" is the seventh record by Canadian hard rock music ensemble DANKO JONES. An album that oozes quality and displays not a single ounce of fat. An accurate and stylish album where the punchy riffs are well planned and clearly marked. An record that could chance any stiff party to the best one you ever will visit! DANKO JONES continues his path of wickedly tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, without taken it to far to be to much.

The recruitment of the new drummer Rich Knox, who gives the band a "Sugar High" effect and forces Danko and JC to explore new extreme extravagances. You can hear new depths of Danko's vocals and writing, it got more energetic and eclectic intensity. "Fire Music" is done and dusted in little more than 35 minutes.

To Sum this up!

DANKO JONES delivering a real roof-raising, party-starter, road-speeding Fire-music!

Today's tune "Do You Wanna Rock" is an instantly appealing cowbelled boogie that dutifully delivers as advertised!

Powered Wig Machine - Mullet Man

Tuesday, a day that I and the stereo have been best friends, have worked a bit with Record Madness and my challenge which I received a week ago, and have realized that it will take some time, it was quite a lot of records that hid behind the letter B.

Well it's not just the letter B that have been playing on the stereo today, somehow I slipped out in a fly on a really nice bunch from the south.

Southern Arizona’s Powered Wig Machine, (a.k.a) PWM, began crafting heavy, stoner-flavored desert rock in 2006/2007. PWM’s hard rock sound - described as heavy western rock n roll – contains elements of desert/stoner rock, classic rock, and blues combined with lyrics that dabble in sci-fi and comic book lore.

Musically, PWM’s style and niche come strongly from where the band lives geographically. The band lives 12 minutes from Tombstone, “The town to tough to die” AZ. PWM's self-branded heavy western Rock n Roll captures the modern spirit of the west. It’s their fuzzed out blues riffs and hard driving rhythm that provides the soundtrack for the Arizona high desert. Music made for biker on the southern desert highway or tequila drenched cowboy rocker. It’s that PWM heavy western rock n roll sound they can wear like a tattoo and raise their rock fists to. If I would refer it to something, then it will be Danko Jones,  it was the first thing to pop up in the brain. But you have to add some more Southern touch and the blues hooks of Clutch and then you are home! Judge for yourselves.

PWM consists of:

Wayne Rudell - Guitar/Vocals,
Joey Rudell - Bass,
Daniel Graves - Drums,
Brian Gold - Guitar

Todays tune "Mullet Man" is taken from PWM's EP "Bearded Goddess EP" Enjoy this track! (Sorry no proper video, but it has a good sound.)

A small fun part was when I was looking for some info about the band I discovered to my surprise that these men were been on tour with The Quill!

Kreator - Phantom Antichrist

Today the sun is warming as never before and this requires of course a refreshing drink and a little departing from all the music reporting that we have been through, oh yes, I have some gems up in my sleeve, but will return to it later.

There are some updates on WeRock that you can read, I have put my teeth into Danko Jones documentary "Bring on the Mountain" on DVD, while Robert Gustavsson checks Tony Iommis biography "Iron Man - My Journey through Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath." In addition, you can read BiblioteKarins report from the Metaltowns two hardrocking days.

Music for a sunny day like this, Thrash Metal, perhaps?

Kreator is a thrash metal band from Essen, Germany, formed in 1978, but formalized in 1982 under the name Tormentor. They originally performed a speed metal style with Venom influences. Their style of music is similar to their compatriots Destruction and Sodom, the other two big German thrash metal bands. All three of these bands are often credited with helping pioneer death metal, by containing several elements of what was to become the genre. Kreator's work began in the vein of pure thrash metal but ventured into industrial and gothic from 1992 to 1999, before eventually returning to their classic thrash sound to date.

To date, Kreator has released thirteen studio albums, two EPs, one live album and three compilation albums. The band released its debut album Endless Pain in 1985. Although many of their previous albums, including Pleasure to Kill (1986), were quite popular in the United States, Kreator did not experience major American commercial success until the 2009 release of their twelfth studio album, Hordes of Chaos, which peaked at number 165 on the Billboard 200 and debuted at #16 on the Media Control Charts, the band's highest ever chart position in Germany.

Todays tune is the title track from the 13th studio album "Phantom Antichrist". The album was released through Nuclear Blast in June 2012. The digipak edition includes a bonus DVD containing documentary about the making of the album and a live set compiled from Kreator's performances at the Wacken Open Air festivals in 2008 and 2011.

A very limited edition version of the album is available through the Nuclear Blast online store, which comes in a metal box containing the CD+DVD version of the album, an exclusive live album called Harvesting The Grapes of Horror which contains the audio from the live portion of the DVD, a red t-shirt bearing the band's logo and the album title, a photocard signed by Mille Petrozza, an A1 poster of the album artwork, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Vinyl Version
The album's title track was released as a limited edition 7" vinyl single, which sold out very quickly. It has since been released digitally. The b-side is an exclusive cover of "The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden.

Soundgarden was the main act on Thursday night. With a sneaking intro, great lighting and an ok sound, do the guys step on stage. Sounds great, but feels dark, slightly depressive vibe I get. But really fun to experience them live, I'm happy. Do not watch the entire show because I had other things to do, more on that tomorrow.

Soundgarden is an American grunge band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1984 by singer Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto. Matt Cameron became the band's full time drummer in 1986, while bassist Ben Shepherd became a permanent replacement for Yamamoto in 1990.

Todays tune "Spoonman" is a song written by frontman Chris Cornell, "Spoonman" was released on February 15, 1994 as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Superunknown (1994). "Spoonman" is often credited as one of the songs that launched Soundgarden's career into the mainstream.
