Deep Purple - Throw My Bones

"Throw My Bones" is the first single from DEEP PURPLEs highly anticipated studio album "Whoosh!"

The single was released on March 20th. "Throw My Bones" is a song to remember; a powerful insight into the band's 21st studio album.

The single is accompanied by a music video that pushes the boundaries of time and place. It is an invitation to take a step back and see the bigger picture, a call for action and an invitation to observe the planet and the current situation on earth.

DEEP PURPLEs brand-new studio album “Whoosh!” follows their worldwide chart-topping albums “inFinite” (2017) and “NOW What?!” (2013). For the third time, DEEP PURPLE joins forces with producer Bob Ezrin, and together they created the most versatile album in their collaboration, “stretching out in all directions” without any limitation, letting their creativity go.

“DEEP PURPLE is putting the Deep back into Purple” was the half-joking motto in the studio after the first songs made it clear that Ezrin and Purple were on a path to creating an album pushing the boundaries of time, while voicing their resentment about the current situation of the world and addressing all generations.

“Whoosh is an onomatopoeic word that, when viewed through one end of a radio-telescope, describes the transient nature of humanity on Earth; and, through the other end from a closer perspective, illustrates the career of DEEP PURPLE".

“Whoosh!” will be available as Limited CD+DVD Mediabook (incl. the 1h feature “Roger Glover and Bob Ezrin in conversation” and, for the first time, the full live performance at Hellfest 2017 as video), 2LP+DVD Edition, Limited Boxset and Digital on June 12th, 2020 on earMUSIC.

Already the content of the Limited Box Set has been revealed yesterday. Hexvessel - Billion Year Old Being

Psychedelic forest folk-rockers HEXVESSEL will release their new nature-mystic 5th opus, "Kindred", via Svart Records.

The singles that have been released so far show that they are taking a darker and more esoteric path, "Kindred" sees HEXVESSEL re-forge their eclectic melting cauldron or “vessel” of sound into a potent “hex” of spell-binding songcraft.

Blues-laden psych-rock and progressive structures harken back to KING CRIMSON, giving way to dark earthen balladry reminiscent of early Nick Cave and the doom-laden atmospheres of DEAD CAN DANCE. The band returned to their original studio in Tampere, Finland, where they recorded their cult classic "No Holier Temple", which fused HEXVESSELs folk roots with an occult undercurrent, with the new album mastered by John Davis (THE KILLERS / GORILLAZ / LED ZEPPELIN / Lana Del Rey) in the UK.

"Kindred" is adorned by cover artwork by artists Thomas Hooper (who has worked for NEUROSIS, CONVERGE and DOOMRIDERS) and Richey Beckett (who has created work for Metallica, Foo Fighters, Robert Plant), Kindred is an album which calls you on a journey, both intimate and richly enlightening.

"Kindred" is HEXVESSELs 5th album, and a return to Svart Records, where they released their debut album Dawnbearer to critical and cult acclaim 10 years ago. HEXVESSEL was formed by English/Irish singer/songwriter Mat McNerney in 2009 after he moved to Finland. Also known for his work with BEASTMILK (now known as GRAVE PLEASURES), THE DEATHTRIP, guest spots with CARPENTER BRUT and ME & THAT MAN and his earlier work with Norwegian Black Metal bands CODE & DØDHEIMSGARD, McNerney is a both highly eclectic and critically acclaimed musical artist. Witchcraft - Elegantly Expressed Depression

Magnus Pelander’s WITCHCRAFT have existed at the forefront of occult tinged classic rock ever since their formation in the year 2000, when Magnus decided to form the band so that he could record a tribute to his idols Roky Erickson and PENTAGRAMs Bobby Liebling. The track in question "No Angel Or Demon" was released in 2002 and was the spark that ignited WITCHCRAFTs now illustrious career from their self-titled debut in 2004 through to the wondrous "Nucleus" in 2016.

Darkthrone - The Hardship Of The Scots

The Pioneering Norwegian black metallers, DARKTHRONE have released the first tune "The Hardship Of The Scots" off their forthcoming album, "Old Star". The tune is a classic heavy metal tune channeling 80's heavy metal where bands of CELTIC FROST and EXODUS comes in mind.

Over the course of 30 years, DARKTHRONE has become a staple of the global Black Metal genre, forging a legacy as one of the most influential bands in its illustrious and often infamous history.

In its formative years, DARKTHRONE made its mark with a strong concoction of Thrash, then Death/Doom Metal experimentation. Never ones to follow convention or stand still even then, the band soon embraced a much darker, more primitive form of expression with its iconic second album A Blaze in the Northern Sky. Now the longstanding duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto return with their first studio album since 2016’s hugely popular Arctic Thunder.

Old Star displays a mastery of the art of the riff, with its 6 epic tracks taking in the best of the old school of Heavy and Extreme Metal combined with a large dose of Doom channeled through the grime of the underground.

Vocalist/guitarist Nocturno Culto’s production is complemented by a powerful, organic mix courtesy of Sanford Parker (VOIVOD) at Hypercube Studios. Mastering is courtesy of Jack Control.

The stellar cover artistry is by Chadwick St John (titled The Shepherd Of The Deep).

Deep Purple - All I Got Is You

DEEP PURPLE have released a new video for “All I Got Is You,” the second single from their upcoming album "Infinite".

The clip features behind-the-scenes performance footage from a 97-minute documentary about the making of the album titled "From Here to Infinite", which will be included as part of the limited-edition CD/DVD version of "Infinite".

Singer Ian Gillian, drummer Ian Paice, bassist Roger Glover, guitarist Steve Morse and keyboardist Don Airey can be seen entering a Nashville recording studio to commit the track to … well, we used to say tape, but it looks like a hard drive is what’s actually being used here.

The “All I Got Is You” single, featuring four bonus recordings, will be revealed in both digital and physical formats on March 10.

Rush - Closer to the Heart

RUSH have released the second video from their upcoming R40 Live CD/DVD-Blu-ray set. Three weeks after giving us “Roll the Bones,” they have unveiled “Closer to the Heart,” which is embedded below.

Originally released on 1977’s "A Farewell to Kings", “Closer to the Heart is one of RUSHs best-loved songs. It was the first RUSH song to feature a non-member as a songwriter in Peter Talbot, a friend of drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. It was issued as a single for Christmas 1977 and was RUSHs first hit single in the United Kingdom, reaching No. 36 in the UK Singles Chart in February 1978. "Closer To The Heart" was one of five RUSH songs inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on March 28, 2010.

The live albums A Show of Hands and Different Stages feature performances of the song with jam-style playing after the last verse. On the 1981 live album Exit...Stage Left, the song segues into "Beneath, Between and Behind," and on Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland, it shifts into a triplet feel for the last verse. On the DVD release of the latter album, a polka rendition of the song is played during the end credits.

Although the original recording and most live performances feature acoustic drums, Peart used an electronic drum kit to play the song in concerts from 1984 to 1994.

In September 2014, the R40 box set was announced, which will commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the release of the band's self-titled debut album. The set will include five previously released live video albums, as well as various previously unreleased footage from across the band's career.

On January 22, 2015, the band officially announced the Rush R40 Tour, celebrating the fortieth anniversary of drummer Neil Peart's membership in the band. The R40 Live Tour was scheduled for performances in more than 30 North American cities; the tour started on May 8 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and wrapped up on August 1 at The Forum in Los Angeles.

On April 29, 2015, Alex Lifeson stated in an interview that this would be the final large-scale Rush tour due to his psoriatic arthritis and Peart's chronic tendonitis. However, he did not rule out future projects with the band, including smaller tours and limited performances, and even stated that he would like to work on soundtracks with Geddy Lee.

Kobra and the Lotus - Black Velvet

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS (also initialized as KATL) is a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 2009 by lead vocalist and songwriter Kobra Paige have a new EP in the pipeline called "Words of the Prophets" Scheduled for release on August 28, 2015, produced by Johnny K.

The EP consists of cover songs recorded by the band, in order to pay homage to the bands to which they grew up listening. On 23 June 2015, a music video for "Black Velvet" (originally recorded by Alannah Myles) was premiered via Revolver Magazine

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS will tour in support of the WORDS OF THE PROPHETS EP in the United States in August; please see below for the current itinerary, with more dates to be added. Due out on August 28th, the WORDS OF THE PROPHETS EP (Titan Music) features cover songs by great Canadian artists (see below for the track listing); it was produced by the Grammy-nominated Johnny K (MEGADETH, DISTURBED, THREE DOORS DOWN).
