Deaf Rat - Hail The End Of Days

Are you already in the right mood for Halloween? DEAF RAT definitely are! Their new single "Hail The End Of Days" is a dark and sinister hymn for the lost and forsaken that breathes the spirit of Rock’n Roll and Hard Rock legends. See the video below.

The new song foreshadows "Ban The Light", the Debut album of uprising Swedish Hard Rock Force from Dalarna, Sweden. It's set to be out on 1st November.

DEAF RAT opens the curtain on a sinister but tempting stage set from a dark musical with massive guitar riffs and strong melodies. This is the band that fills up the cracks in the ageing concrete between LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH, GUNS’N’ROSES and PANTERA.

DEAF RAT are a bunch of Swedish guys, coming from different angles in Hard Rock Scene and hailing their music with a lot of dirt, darkness and melody. On their unholy mission, DEAF RAT have only one message to share with the world: Live your life to the fullest since it is the only one you have!

The passion for music may lie in the genes of DEAF RAT since their home region Dalarna in Sweden produced many great bands thrilling the music industry since years like PAIN, HYPOCRISY, TWILIGHT FORCE and SABATON.

"We're hard workers", says Frankie Rich. "If we want something done, we do it ourselves. This is definitely reflected in our music“. One does not need to be a clairvoyant to see that the stars are all in line for DEAF RAT to become a characterizing band in Hard Rock scene in the next years. So, hold your breath, keep your eyes open and be ready for a new century to begin:

Ironbird - Hard Times Light Shines

Monday, New week and it's time to introduce this week's "Record Of The Week"

Record Of The Week is "Black Mountain", the latest release on "Transubstans Records" from the Swedish band IRONBIRD.

IRONBIRD was formed by Magnus Jernström (MANGROVE). With a perfect blending of skilled musicians and visions, IRONBIRD manages to create a unique mix of the 70's best era along with the heavy days of the 90's.

"Black Mountain" is classic hard rock album with it´s roots in the seventies retro genre, the record is crammed with heavy boiling riffs, doomish sound and pounding rhythms. The vocals are slightly like Ozzy Osbourne. While their influences are a familiar mix of BLACK SABBATH hard rock and 90’s stoner rock. It's energetic and full of spirits, also a handful of psychedelia. The songs have a great substance and are backed up with skilled musicians.

I highly recommend the astonishing début "Black Mountian" with IRONBIRD, perfect for fans of classic Hard Rock.

My copy of Black Mountain.

IRONBIRD consists of:

Magnus Jernström - Guitar
Rasmus Jansson - Vocals
Fredrik Schönbeck - Bass
Magnus Arndtzén - Drums
Jonas Edler - Spirit, Percussion

Todays tune is the smoker "Hard Times Light Shines", enjoy it!

Crucified Barbara - To Kill A Man

Crucified Barbara is back with a new album "In The Red", release date tomorrow September 10, 2014. Two single and one video is released from the new album "In The Red".

Formed in Stockholm in 1998 by bassist Ida Evileye and guitarist Klara Force, Crucified Barbara is Sweden's hardest rocking quartet, playing a fiery brand of rock 'n' roll tinged with metal and lashings of punk, pop, thrash, and whatever else dares to cross their path.

No strangers to hard work or success,
Crucified Barbara’s debut single from their 2005 debut In Distortion We Trust climbed to #8 on the Swedish pop charts. They played Australia, toured across Europe opening for Motörhead, Sepultura, In Flames, and Doro, and earned a prestigious slot alongside Black Sabbath, Velvet Revolver, and System Of A Down at the U.K. Download Festival. With all that touring, it would be four years before the band got around to recording their second album, 2009’s ‘Til Death Do Us Party. Next thing you know, there they were on national television performing in Eurovision’s 2010 Song Contest and made it to the semi-finals. Go figure.

Entering the legendary Music-A-Matic Vintage Recording Studio in Gothenberg with sound engineer Henryk Lipp and producer Chips Kiesby to create Crucified Barbara’s third studio release, The Midnight Chase features the beautifully evil “Rock Me Like The Devil,” the anthemic “Everything We Need,” and the commandeering “Into The Fire.” Ida Evileye dominates her trusty Sandberg bass, Klara Force rocks steady on her ’76 Gibson Explorer, Mia Coldheart belts out her unapologetic vocals while riffing all over her Gibson Gothic Flying V, and Nicki Wicked pounds on her glittered Yamaha Maple drum kit until you’re splayed across the floor with a bull’s-eye knock-out punch that’ll make you spit your teeth out. Now you know what happens when Motörhead mates with The Runaways.

So how did they get their name? The band members attended Denmark’s legendary Roskilde Festival and came across something very unexpected in a nearby forest: a blow-up doll (generically called “Barbara” throughout Sweden) attached to a crucifix. And no, they didn’t identify with the victim, they claimed the power of the aggressor right on the spot and have never looked back.

"In The Red" is the most polished album so far, it's a heavier than previous records. From the first kick ass punkish track "I Sell My Kids For Rock N’ Roll", to the second track and first single (todays tune) "To Kill A Man" with the slower bass chewing melody to the third track and second single "Electric Sky" the more dance alike tune that could easily climb on the charts, the forth tune, "The Ghost Inside" with the lovely guitar intro that get you goosebumps, the title track "In The Red" is a real ass kicking tune with heavy guitar riffing and pouching drums. Another up tempo track is "Shadows" that wake up your sleepy legs for some tap dance. The last and closing track on the album is "Follow The Stream" is a real rocker that signs up the album that these girls have successed to make a excellent record that will get many hours of guaranteed enjoyness!

Tomorrow, if you live in Stockholm, don't miss the signing session at Sound Pollution at 17:30.

Todays tune is the the anti-rape anthem “To Kill a Man”, the first single release from "In The Red".

Kinabalu - One Million Days

Kinabalu from Stockholm Sweden is of one of the most promissing rock/metal-acts emerging from Sweden at this very moment.

In the late 2010, five new showered young lads got together at a rehearsal spot in Stockholm, with the sole intent to construct a vessel of thunder, swelling biceps and wrecking riffs, with mixing genres such as metal, rock, hardcore and industrial rock they manage to climb up to Kinabalu.

Despite the fact that Kinabalu was formed in late 2010, they are in no way rookies to the game. Each member have had their fair share of blood, sweat and tears of rock, prior to boarding this vessel of havoc. So while most bands might bide their time before having the balls to release anything, Kinabalu went out guns blazing from the get-go, and within six months after forming the band, the debute album Granodiorite was concieved.

The sequel to 2011′s Granodiorite is in progress.

Kinabalu is:

Antonio Da Silva – Vocals
Anders Sevebo – Bass
Peter Lindqvist – Drums
Jonatan Hedlin – Guitars and programming
Juha Silventoinen – Guitars and programming

Todays tune "One Million Days", taken from the debut record "Granodiorite". A video for the single was shot without any outside help, just pure will and heart. And a fistful of hard-hitting, no-bullshitting, dick-swinging, motherfucking rock. The record was forged together mostly by Kinabalu and with a little help from Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Productions / Garageland studios Umeå.

Competition Time!

Wanna win Kinabalu´s "Granodiorite" signed by the whole band and a set of Jonatan, Juha & Anders custom guitar picks?

To enter is simple, just share the Kinabalu Facebookpage and invite your friends to join.
They will pick one lucky winner by the end of this month.
Have fun and share as many times as you like, the more the merrier :-)

Good Luck!
