The Portland, Oregon quartet RED FANG have established themselves as one of the heavy rockers more engaging acts. Since the start with amazing 2011's "Murder The Mountains" and last release with 2016's "Only Ghosts", they have with thier infectious gooves and energetic powerful riffs made a name in the riff rock scene, a band that most nowerdays knows about.
"Arrows" is the fifth full-lengt album and was recorded at Halfling Studios in the band’s hometown of Portland, OR, with longtime collaborator Chris Funk, producer of "Murder The Mountains" and 2013’s "Whales And Leeches". The album was released June 4, 2021 via Relapse Records.
"Arrows", takes a slightly different direction for the band, loose screws and half inflated tires, the wheels are more dirty and the sound is woozy and gruffy where influenses could easly be HIGH ON FIRE, MELVINS and ORANGE GOBLIN. From the opening rumble intro "Take It Back" via the stoner rocker "Unreal Estate" and the crunchy doomish title track "Arrows". Tunes like full blown punkish "My Disaster" and "Dr. Owl" are cool break outs in the album along with the sharp stomp of "Rabbits In Hives". The tune "Fonzi Scheme", a tune was named after legendary Happy Days cool guy Arthur Fonzarelli. Producer Chris Funk came up with the idea of bringing in string players from the Portland Cello Project to class up the track. A track that shines MASTODON and BARONESS. Beautiful guitars in the half paced "Days Collide", where the vocals are a little more dark and withdrawn. "Why"is a magnificent thing where the bass licks gets a lot of space. The opening riff of closer "Funeral Coach" was written 11 years ago. Of course you get thoughts back to the debut, sounds magically good.
On "Arrows" do we get a adventurous journey in the dirt pit where we get served some of the dirtiest and space mutated riffs in RED FANG catalog. And they do a marvelous job to take the next step and take experimental risks with the new material. Check it up!

Ever since their inception, RED FANG have strived to write heavy, catchy music underlaid with subtle complexities. Founded in 2005, the band had a distinctive and fully-formed sound right from the start: a mix of compelling rock songwriting and party-hard metal euphoria that speaks to the headbanger, the hesher, and the music student alike.
RED FANG have always taken great pride in their music videos, making it an entertaining medium for fans. Now, they're taking the next step in music video evolution, turning their clip for "Antidote" into the world's first music video/videogame that you can play.
The story starts off when the group receives and accepts the performance invitation from a club, where is loaded with danger and villains. With the music power to defeat rivals, the group kills all the bad characters while performing headbanger “Antidote” on the stage. The heavy rock music runs into a climax in the boss battle when Posehn appears as a significant computer-controlled enemy, aka the big boss. But Posehn loses the game and is beaten by Red Fang. The music video ends up the group drive back home in the desert, leaving a tranquil and peaceful scene that seems nothing happened.

Remember The Story’s cover artwork was created by Caitlin Mattisson and conveys the album’s theme of death and renewal. Speaking about the art, Mattisson says, “the vulture represents renewal and transformation and has connections to many mythologies and cultures, from being descended from Griffins in Greek Mythology to the scientific (Latin) name of Turkey Vulture translating to Golden Purifier, which ties in to Jim's theme about a 2nd chance at life. Elements inspired by Hildgard of Bingen have been worked into the border shapes, as well as 2 blown out candles on the front. The book on the front is a FIREBALL MINISTRY hymnal shooting light. On the back of the album the candles are lit again and the vulture is flying away towards a new moon, new beginning.”

"Room Of Nightmares", is the new video from BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, taken from the band's upcoming tenth full-length album, "Grimmest Hits", which will be released January 19, 2018 via Entertainment One (eOne).
The "Room Of Nightmares" video was directed by BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's longtime collaborator Justin Reich.

In an interview with Full Metal Jackie, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY leader Zakk Wylde, who rejoined Ozzy Osbourne's solo band earlier in the year, stated about BLS's upcoming activities: "In between the breaks and in between my nail appointments, the shaving of my legs, we've actually made another BLACK LABEL album. So that'll be coming out in the New Year. We gotta pick our spots where we want to put records in there. So the whole thing is, we were in The Black Vatican (Zakk's home studio), we made another album so that'll be coming out in the New Year and then the BLACK LABEL armada will start rolling in the New Year."
Prior to the release of the previous album "Catacombs Of The Black Vatican", BLACK LABEL SOCIETY amicably parted ways with longtime guitarist Nick Catanese and replaced him with Dario Lorina (LIZZY BORDEN).

BASK are a young band from North Carolina that play a highly original blend of Americana, country, post-rock and stoner/doom metal. "American Hollow" is the band’s debut on The Path Less Traveled Records and I can say that this is great stuff. An energetic album with some half-time shuffles that breaks into a pretty straight-forward stoner rock groove, similar to some of the less aggressive tunes by RED FANG.
The vocals have a great twang with a distinctly country vibe, odd but it works. The lads have a great feeling in the musicianship jangly and swiftly guitars slings, big fat drums and a rumbly bass in a melancholy country-like vibe.

I recently encounter a band called Red Fang, Red Fang is an American stoner rock/heavy metal band from Portland US. They released their second album "Murder The Mountains" last year and couple of days ago a new video came.
This is a really funny video and the music is real good, more stoner rock than metal. Its catchy but the heavy sound is still there.
The members are: Bryan Giles on guitar, vocals Aaron Beam on bass guitar, vocals David Sullivan on guitar John Sherman on drums

Red Fang is an American heavy metal band from Portland, Oregon.
Red Fang's 2009 debut for record label Sargent House collected their first two releases, which were limited release EPs. The band followed with Murder the Mountains, released on Relapse Records, in 2011. Chris Funk produced Murder the Mountains. Red Fang has appeared on the Metalliance tour with bands like Crowbar and Helmet and opened on the Jägermeister stage on this years Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival which included Megadeth, Godsmack, and Disturbed as headliners.
On September 12, 2011, Red Fang was announced to be the one of the openers (the other being The Dillinger Escape Plan) to support Mastodon on their United States and European headlining tours from October to March.

The band consists of a bunch of awesome cool dudes open up Mastedon at the Annex. Personally I think they made a great effort, it was heavy meandering sludge riffing and it swung like a derailed train.
