The New Regime - We Rise, We Fall

Multi-instrumentalist Ilan Rubin is best known for his work with NINE INCH NAILS, LOSTPROPHETS, ANGELS & AIRWAVES and a brief stint with PARAMORE. But it can be argued that his best work happens when this one-man-band is fronting—and backing THE NEW REGIME.

THE NEW REGIME is out touring as support for THE USED and did a show yesterday at Klubben here in Stockholm. An interesting combo of many genres rock in a pretty nice package. Together on tour he has his Brother Danny Rubin on bass and drummer Hayden Scott (AWOLNATION, FILTER)

Today's tune "We Rise, We Fall" is taken from album "Exhibit B", which Rubin wrote and recorded almost entirely while touring with NIN in 2013-14. Given what his night job was at the time, you might expect the results of his daylighting to sound Trent-influenced. Perhaps you’ll find some of that in there, but you may be more immediately struck by the old-school classicism of Rubin’s approach.

Setlist from the show at Klubben

Radiate The False
Say What You Will
Daydream
Don't Chase It
No Traces
Strong-Arm Tomorrow
We Rise, We Fall
Tap Dancing in a Minefield

Nine Inch Nails - Head Like A Hole

Sunday, time for a classic and today we turn to the west and invite in Trent Reznor.

From the album Pretty Hate Machine we find todays tune "Head Like A Hole".

Pretty Hate Machine is the debut album by American industrial rock act Nine Inch Nails, released October 20, 1989, on TVT Records. Pretty Hate Machine is compiled of reworked tracks from the Purest Feeling demo, as well as tracks recorded after its recording. The album spawned three singles, the most successful being "Head Like a Hole", which has become a staple in Nine Inch Nails live performances.

The album became one of the first independently released records to attain platinum certification. On 12 May 2003 the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album triple platinum, denoting sales of three million in the United States. It was commercially and critically successful for an independent label, but Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails' only constant band member) feuded with TVT (the original publishing label of the album) during promotion. The album was out of print from around 1997 to 2005, due to the much publicized falling out between Reznor and the record label. Rykodisc re-released the album around the world in 2005, effectively putting the album back into print. A remastered version was released on November 22, 2010.

Nine Inch Nails (abbreviated as NIИ) is an American industrial rock band, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio. As its main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for its direction. Nine Inch Nails' music straddles a wide range of genres. After recording a new album, Reznor usually assembles a live band to perform with him. The touring band features a revolving lineup that often rearranges songs to fit a live setting. On stage, Nine Inch Nails often employs visual elements to accompany performances, which frequently include light shows.

On the 05.10.2014 will NIN's tour come to Stockholm, Sweden for a show at Hovet. Support during this evening is Cold Cave

Gary Numan - Love Hurt Bleed

Gary Numan “The master of electro", born Gary Anthony James Webb on 8 March 1958 is an English singer, composer, and musician. Most widely known for his chart-topping 1979 hits "Are 'Friends' Electric?" (as Tubeway Army) and "Cars", Numan achieved his peak of mainstream popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but maintains a loyal cult following.

Numan, whose signature sound consists of heavy synthesiser hooks fed through guitar effects pedals, is considered a pioneer of commercial electronic music.

Todays tune "Love Hurt Bleed" is taken from the twentieth studio album "Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind)", released on 9 October 2013.

He has been influencing artists for three decades–from Nine Inch Nails to Marilyn Manson to myself. Now he is taking from his descendants and making the ideas his own. It is apparent Gary is very human when he sings his words. They are fully passionate and beautifully painful. If you have the latest Nine Inch Nails release, you need to hear Splinter. You will learn who the master is.”

The latest record is produced by the duo Flood and Alan Moulder at Assault & Battery Studios in Willesden, North West London. Flood and Moulder's previous credits include work with The Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Nine Inch Nails and The Killers.

Todays tune "Inhaler" is a the first single from British band Foals for their third studio album Holy Fire, released on 11 February 2013. The track and music video were released on 5 November 2012 in the United Kingdom. Inhaler is really the track that stands out on the album, a real lead single from a pretty tidy album, everything starts as a fraudulent hiking outdoors - until that drunk staggers in and create disorder as a big, swashbuckling gorilla filled with swampy riffs powerful enough to make you wake up.

Mass Murder Agenda - Drawing Flies

A friend of Stones and me, Tristan has a very cool band, and they just released a new video.
I just wanna spread this band all over, DAMN they ROCK! And they do it Very good! Its kinda industrial metal.

Mass Murder Agenda was born in the summer of 2009 by bass player Joakim Hedestedt (ex-Face Down, Nation Beyond, ex-Construcdead).
The Idea was to mix thrash with industrial metal and no intention of at all being original, just aggressive enough to play live. After writing four bone crushing songs came the hard task to find the right band.

For vocals Joakim chose his long time friend Tristan Agdler (ex-NIL) for his perfect mix of hard and melodic voice.  Mass Murder Agenda takes the listener to the bleak underbelly of human society. With the bands own take on such legendary bands as Ministry, Slayer, Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke,

Mass Murder Agendas CD grabs you by the throat and demands attention! The bands undeniable sound will not be ignored or denied!
In my ear, this album is a well produced piece of art. The music is like a vacuum cleaner it really drags ure attention and U just gotta love it!
