Misery Loves Co. - Zero

Monday, a new week is here and it's time to present the last "Record Of The Week" of 2019.

I wish there was a few more weeks to do as the pile of excellent records is pretty big, but as January is usally pretty calm on album releases, the November and December records will be presented after New Year.

Patrik Wirén - Vocals
Örjan Örnkloo - Guitar, Programming
Michael Hahne - Guitar
The Swedish industrial metal pioneers MISERY LOVES CO. is back with their fourth album "Zero" after 19 years of silence since the critically acclaimed "Your Vision Was Never Mine To Share". A very long wait for many and a new welcome for the youngsters around the globe that have missed this band. Can only say that it really was worth the wait.

"Zero" is a wide album with the distinguishing sound that MISERY LOVES CO. is known for. Blending classic rock with metal and flirting with goth and death metal, catchy melodies with both aggressiveness and softish soundscapes, all this is done in their own industrial way and spiced up with impressive songwriting.

The album have many great tunes from the crashing album opener "Suburban Breakdown", to the more the more noticeable tunes like the title track "Zero" and "Fell In Love", some industiral dance metal in "The Waiting Room" and the dark post punkers "Dead Streets" and "Way Back Home" and "just because" a excellent cover of the classic GARBAGEs "Only Happy When It Rains". The album is way better than I could have imagined, could say "Zero" weak moments :) Get it.

Sum: An excellent return of the sleeping Loves Co.

Today's tune "Way Back Home" is taken from "Zero", enjoy!

Lindemann - Steh Auf

The German/Swedish industrial metal super-duo LINDEMANN featuring lead vocalist Till Lindemann of Neue Deutsche Härte band RAMMSTEIN, along with multi-instrumentalist Peter Tägtgren of Swedish death metal band HYPOCRISY and industrial metal project PAIN. Tägtgren defines it as "a baby between RAMMSTEIN and PAIN – at least it's a mix of RAMMSTEIN vocals and PAIN music."

Now they have shared a new song from their collaborative project LINDEMANN.

"Steh Auf" is the duo’s first new material since their 2015 album "Skills in Pills". The single is taken from their newly announced second record, "F & M", which is due for release on November 22.

LINDEMANNs 2015 debut album featured lyrics written and sung entirely in English in a first for Till Lindemann, who until then had sung a few words in English in RAMMSTEINs music. On "Steh Auf" Till sings in his native German. His work with RAMMSTEIN is forever envelope-pushing in its fearless experimentation, but something about Till Lindemann's output with his solo project has an even more surreal vibe that complements the German singer's brutish sex appeal in a compelling, never clichéd way. Said project's latest offering, "Steh Auf", is an anthemic instruction to "Stand up!", and with the driving beat and symphonic flourishes behind him, you'll surely do as Till commands.

Today's tune "Steh Auf" is the first single from the upcoming album "F & M", The music video featured Swedish actor Peter Stormare. Enjoy today's tune!

Rammstein - Rammstein

Monday, new week, time to introduce "Record Of The Week"

After ten years of waiting for a new album, now it finally came and what we have in our hands an album that shows the result of dedicated work of German brains that still are loyal to their own sound, the trademark of RAMMSTEIN has been to upset and make an impact of the masses, to get people to wake up from their screens and ordinary lives and the main thing is to create a rush through the impenetrable walls of political power, that is something you've really succeeded with over the years. But because it’s all in German, it’s not entirely clear which is which and what is what, but have tried to translate some of it but is not so easy to figure all out, but hey, does anyone listens to RAMMSTEIN for the lyrics??

The new self-titled album follows the path that they worked out in the last decade, Teutonic dance metal in their native language German. The first single and the opening number "Deutschland" gassed the whole German government with the catchy tune about the Holocaust in World War II. The second tune and single "Radio" is a disco-metal tune about growing up in East Germany (It was a country that existed from 1949 to 1990 when the eastern portion of Germany was part of the Eastern Bloc during the Cold War.) Choir hymns open up "Zeig Dich", mechanized riffs with a militant and Teutonic beats, big and powerful chorus. Euro-disco thrasher "Ausländer" with a kids choir in the chorus, a tune that easily could be a hit on the dance floor. Heavy riffs open up "Sex", a catchy number with a big electronic solo in the end. The experimental tune "Puppe" stands out a bit from the normal layout, reminds me of CAPTAIN BEEFHEART :) "Was Ich Liebe" half paced love piece until it slows down at the end of the album with the weepy ballad "Diamant" and "Weit Weg". "Tattoo" follows the old-school RAMMSTEIN template, heavy chugging riffs, hard drumming, angry and determined vocals. The album wraps up with the slow burner "Hallomann", builds up slowly to a powerful album closer. A really decent album release from these Pyroman's, catch them live this summer if you can.

Sum: RAMMSTEIN still can make some impact and upset peoples.

Today's tune "Radio", the second single from the new self titled album, enjoy!

Marilyn Manson - We Know Where You Fucking Live

Marilyn Manson just released the music video for his caps-lock-on-cruise-control single "WE KNOW WHERE YOU FUCKING LIVE" taken from his upcoming tenth studio album "Heaven Upside Down". It is set to be released on October 6, 2017 by Loma Vista Recordings and Caroline International. "We Know Where You Fucking Live" was released as the album's lead single on September 11, 2017, with "Kill4Me" following on September 20.

”Like Manson’s other visual works, “We Know Where You Fucking Live” is typical family-friendly fare, starring skintight latex-donning nuns with ammunition who, alongside Manson, turn a family’s copacetic suburban night into chaos.

"We Know Where You Fucking Live" is an industrial rock song. It is reminiscent of material released by the band in the late '90s, and features subdued, predominantly electronic verses coupled with a chorus consisting of loud, aggressive guitar riffs and the eponymous vocalist's screamed vocals. Nerdist Industries called the song "fiercely rocking and in-your-face". Manson said that he was "astonished that a record label put the song out as the first single", due to its lyrical content, which reference political corruption, drone warfare and global surveillance. The track was debuted live during the first date of the Heaven Upside Down Tour, which occurred on July 20 in Budapest

The music video for the song was directed by Bill Yukich and Perou, and was posted onto YouTube on September 15. The clip opens with a parental advisory warning for graphic violence and sexual content, and begins with a quintet of nuns walking down a suburban street during a solar eclipse. The nuns tear off their habits, revealing them to be wearing latex undergarments and leather dominatrix gear, and carrying various handguns, assault rifles and rocket launchers. The group then encounters Manson and, after an initial standoff, proceed to blow up a van. The group then invades the home of a family and subjects the husband and wife to a violent sexual assault. Sydney Gore of The Fader has hypothesized that the video is a metaphor for religious extremism.

Rammstein - Ich Tu Dir Weh

"Ich tu dir weh" ("I hurt you" or "I do you woe") is the second single from the 2009 album Liebe ist für alle da by German band RAMMSTEIN. Due to the sado-masochistic content of this song, the album was placed on the "index" maintained by the German Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien. In May 2010, the original uncensored album and the single were de-indexed and consequently released in Germany.

When played live, large amounts of pyrotechnics are used during "Ich tu dir weh". A choreographed fight takes place mid-song between Lindemann and Flake, which ends with Flake being forced into a large bathtub. Lindemann proceeds to stand on a platform that raises him high above the bathtub, from which he pours a large amount of sparks from a milk can into the bath below. This causes multiple large explosions, after which Flake emerges wearing a silver holographic suit. In the first few German concerts of the Liebe ist für alle da tour, they modified song's lyrics to allow Lindemann to sing them, because the original lyrics were tagged as inappropriate by the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien.

The music video for the song was released online on 21 December 2009, hosted on the adult site visit-X.

The video shows the band performing the song with equipment that has black and gray colors. Both Till Lindemann and Oliver Riedel are wearing eye contacts that eventually turn colors (Riedel's turn green and Lindemann's turn red). Lindemann's mouth also emits a white light when he sings. A cable runs through his cheek, and a light is mounted inside of his mouth. Lindemann wanted the effect to be authentic, so he had his cheek pierced just for the production. At the climax of the video, the stage around Flake fills with electricity, resulting in the band members exploding at the last note.

Enjoy Today's tune!

Rammstein - Engel

Sunday, time for a classic tune!

"Engel" (German for Angel) is a song by German Industrial metal band RAMMSTEIN. The song was released as the first single from their second album Sehnsucht. An English version of Engel can be found on US special editions of the Sehnsucht album.

A regular during the Sehnsucht tour, it was used as the last song of the main set in non-festival concerts. In the first months of the Mutter tour, "Engel" appeared in the setlists sporadically, but became a regular again in November, and continued as the last song of the main set until the end of the tour.

When performed on stage, flames shoot into the air, and Schneider's drumsticks would shoot sparks. On the 'Live aus Berlin' shows, Bobolina joins RAMMSTEIN to sing her parts from inside a flaming cage, instead of the usual pre-recorded chorus used in most of the shows. After missing the entire Reise, Reise tour; "Engel" returned to the setlists as the closing song of the Liebe Ist Für Alle Da tour, taking place during 2009 and 2011. This time around, vocalist Till Lindemann sang the chorus instead of Bobo's pre-recorded lines. For the pyrotechnics, Lindemann wears a set of angel wings that shoot flames from the tips and that have sparks go off along them. Engel was the penultimate song on the setlist during the Made in Germany tour.

"Rammstein In Amerika" (DVD & Blu-ray), a lavish package containing a major new documentary about the band, "Rammstein In Amerika"; a short film about the making of their "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" album; and the whole of their legendary Madison Square Garden show.

RAMMSTEIN were formed in 1993 by an assembly of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were hurt and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force flight show.
(The literal translation of "ram stein" is a battering ram made of stone.)

See the Live clip below to catch the Engel costume and fire!

Lindemann - Praise Abort

LINDEMANN is a German/Swedish industrial metal band featuring the lead vocalist Till Lindemann of the Neue Deutsche Härte band RAMMSTEIN, along with multi-instrumentalist Peter Tägtgren of the Swedish death metal band HYPOCRISY and industrial project PAIN. On May 28, 2015 the band released it's debut single "Praise Abort", see the video below. A Studio album titled "Skills In Pills" is expected to release on June 23, 2015.

Like all the best stories of death and destruction, the tale of LINDEMANN – the new band featuring Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren – begins with a night of total debauchery.

“In 2000 I was in Sweden, where we were mixing the Mutter album,” says Lindemann, familiar to millions worldwide as frontman with Germany’s biggest rock band, RAMMSTEIN. “One evening, our keyboard player and I went out to a biker bar with some girls, but one of the bikers there was the ex-boyfriend of one of those girls and wanted to kick my ass. He had a lot of friends with him, so we thought we were doomed – but then who should walk into the bar but Peter Tägtgren? He told them that we were cool guys, and not to beat the shit out of us...”

Tägtgren and Lindemann soon became friends – and the next time the
RAMMSTEIN frontman returned to Sweden, the two stepped up their game when it came to partying. Lindemann recalls: “Next time I met Peter, we had a Chinese meal together. We had a really nice dinner and afterwards we were really full. Then I said, ‘Let’s drink some Jägermeister’...”

“Till fucked me up!” Tägtgren remembers. “He kept saying to me, ‘Just one more shot...’ until I vomited over the bar into the ice machine. Then they threw me out, still puking everywhere.”

“After that, we had a candle competition,” says Lindemann with an evil smile. “We had a bet about how long we dared to hold our arms over the flame of a candle. I said to myself, ‘I’m going to beat you, pussy!’, lit a cigarette and smoked while my arm burned. I could smell it. I had a scar for the next two months...”

And so
LINDEMANN, the band, was born. With a genesis as vivid as this, it’s little wonder that the debut album Skills In Pills is one of the most gripping releases of the year – and the darkest. Thanks to the RAMMSTEIN singer’s often hilarious, sometimes utterly filthy lyrics, plus Tägtgren’s super-modern studio skills and instrumentation, it’s a set of 10 songs like no other.

Albums like this don’t come along often: violent, visceral and courageous, Skills In Pills is a listening experience like no other. The final revelation is that this album was never meant to happen: it was only ever supposed to be a throwaway collaboration between two friends. As Tägtgren explains: “This is the result of a year of fucking around with sounds! We had no idea that we’d go as far as releasing an entire album, but this thing has just got bigger and bigger.”

The twisted product of two uniquely creative minds, Skills In Pills is your new medicine. Take it now.

Joel McIver, 2015

"Skills In Pills" will be made available in the following formats:

* Standard Edition (2-panel digipack, 28-page booklet)
* Special Edition (Blu-ray-packaging, 28-page booklet, bonus track "That's My Heart")
* Super Deluxe Edition (large-size book, hardcover, 80 pages, telescope-carton, CD+bonus track "That's My Heart")

Deathstars - Explode

The Swedish industrial rock band Deathstars returns with a blast when they release their long anticipated fourth studio album "The Perfect Cult", on June 13th.

For the upcoming new output, Deathstars finally managed to give themselves the needed time span to work in a calm and methodic manner, fully exploring the music writing process which might have resulted in the most dramatic Deathstars album to date.

"The Perfect Cult" has been captured in several studios: drums, guitars and bass were recorded in Bohus Sound Recording, Kungälv Sweden, vocals in Gig Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and keyboards, orchestration and editing was done in Black Syndicate, Stockholm. While the mix as usual was handled by legendary Stefan Glaumann (Rammstein, Within Temptation), guitarist/keyboardist Nightmare took care of the production from bottom to top. For the drum-, guitar- and bass-production, Nightmare worked together with Roberto Laghi (Entombed, In Flames) at Bohus Sound Recording.

The Mastering was done by Svante Forsbäck (Volbeat, Rammstein) at Chartmakers, Helsinki, Finland.

As far as the lyrics are concerned vocalist Whiplasher states that "all the tracks are about our lives. Each song is a reflection on a situation or a topic that deals with our experiences, usually from a jet black perspective."

With visions inspired by amoral excessive lives, human fears and decay, the songs will be nothing less than a dark playground set between straight forward tracks, atmospheric anthems and the unwashed loins of lawless rock.

Todays tune "Explode" is the second tune out from the group's fourth studio album, "The Perfect Cult", which will be released on June 13 via Nuclear Blast.

Rob Zombie - Dead City Radio And The New Gods Of Supertown

Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor is the fifth solo studio album by former White Zombie frontman Rob Zombie. The album was released on April 23, 2013, four days after the release of Zombie's film The Lords of Salem. This is the first Rob Zombie album to feature drummer Ginger Fish who, with John 5, was part of Marilyn Manson's band.

Zombie's music heavily draws influence from classic horror films and suspense films. He has listed KISS, Queen, Alice Cooper, and Elton John as some of his influences growing up. In addition, he has stated that the first record he bought was an Alice Cooper record. Zombie's "Never Gonna Stop (The Red Red Kroovy) music video is heavily inspired by A Clockwork Orange. Zombie later revealed to People magazine that while he was growing up, he was not allowed to watch films such as A Clockwork Orange or The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the latter of which heavily influenced Zombie's films House of 1000 Corpses and its sequel The Devil's Rejects. Zombie's music videos are also inspired by horror films, with his "Living Dead Girl" music video being based upon the 1920 silent horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

For Record Store Day 2013, Zombie released a promotional single for "Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown" (with b-side "Teenage Nosferatu Pussy") on 10 inch colored vinyl printed on a reverse groove.

Todays tune "Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown" is the first single from "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor", the single was released April 8, 2013.

Kinabalu - One Million Days

Kinabalu from Stockholm Sweden is of one of the most promissing rock/metal-acts emerging from Sweden at this very moment.

In the late 2010, five new showered young lads got together at a rehearsal spot in Stockholm, with the sole intent to construct a vessel of thunder, swelling biceps and wrecking riffs, with mixing genres such as metal, rock, hardcore and industrial rock they manage to climb up to Kinabalu.

Despite the fact that Kinabalu was formed in late 2010, they are in no way rookies to the game. Each member have had their fair share of blood, sweat and tears of rock, prior to boarding this vessel of havoc. So while most bands might bide their time before having the balls to release anything, Kinabalu went out guns blazing from the get-go, and within six months after forming the band, the debute album Granodiorite was concieved.

The sequel to 2011′s Granodiorite is in progress.

Kinabalu is:

Antonio Da Silva – Vocals
Anders Sevebo – Bass
Peter Lindqvist – Drums
Jonatan Hedlin – Guitars and programming
Juha Silventoinen – Guitars and programming

Todays tune "One Million Days", taken from the debut record "Granodiorite". A video for the single was shot without any outside help, just pure will and heart. And a fistful of hard-hitting, no-bullshitting, dick-swinging, motherfucking rock. The record was forged together mostly by Kinabalu and with a little help from Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Productions / Garageland studios Umeå.

Competition Time!

Wanna win Kinabalu´s "Granodiorite" signed by the whole band and a set of Jonatan, Juha & Anders custom guitar picks?

To enter is simple, just share the Kinabalu Facebookpage and invite your friends to join.
They will pick one lucky winner by the end of this month.
Have fun and share as many times as you like, the more the merrier :-)

Good Luck!
