Red Circuit - Digging In The Dirt

RED CIRCUIT is a Progressive metal Supergroup from Wiesbaden, Hessen, Germany. It features members and guest musicians from renowned bands such as VANDEN PLAS; ADAGIO, FIREWIND and ELEGY.

That RED CIRCUIT are a great example of a band whose result is the sum of its individual parts. Or, to transfer a mathematical formula to the rock music world: world class vocalist plus brilliant instrumentalists equals a great band. And there is no hesitation in describing RED CIRCUIT as such, as their previous albums, “Trance State” (2006) and “Homeland” (2009) impressively proved. The finely balanced mixture of technically classy power metal, refined progressive rock and a cleverly inwoven mainstream attitude, which serve to make the songs so memorable has been praised for years, and not only by the music press, but also by an ever-growing hoard of fans. Their third studio album, “Haze Of Nemesis” is now on the start line, ready to burst on the world with powerful guitar riffs, symphonic keyboard parts and superb vocals.

The latest album "Haze Of Nemesis" was released in October 2014.

The RED CIRCUIT are:

Chitral "Chity" Somapala - Lead vocals (FIREWIND, CIVILIZATION ONE, REKUIEM, POWER QUEST)
Markus Teske - Keyboards
Christian Moser - Guitars (SHEELA, 3 MONKEYS AND A DOG, JUKE BOX HERO, JOY)
Tommy Schmitt - Bass (ZEUS, Q-SQUAD, FRACTURE)
Michael Stein - Drums (GODEX, ROKKEN)

Todays tune "Digging In The Dirt" is taken from the album "Haze Of Nemesis". The original can be found on the album "Us" by Peter Gabriel, released in 1992.

Peter Gabriel - Mercy Street

Just over a week ago I got the opportunity to see Peter Gabriel Live again, with rather high expectations for the evening, I can no more say that these expectations were justified with a bang. Peter Gabriel performed a real smash concert at the Globe here in Stockholm.

I also got the opportunity to drive one of the lightning arms during the show, the first arm on the left is the one I pushed back and forth during his set, kinda odd job. The show was just marvelous, if he visits your town, don't miss this!

Todays tune "Mercy Street" is a song written by Peter Gabriel from his 1986 album So. The song deals with the life and conflicting emotions of the poet Anne Sexton, and makes frequent allusions to incidents from Sexton's life and a number of her poems, in particular the work 45 Mercy Street. Themes touched on in the song include suicide attempts, troubled parental relationships, a desire to become whole, attempting to come to terms with the past, and confessing.

Todays version featuring Ane Brun & Melanie Gabriel is taken from the third live album "Live Blood". Recorded at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London on 23 and 24 March 2011, the concert featured Gabriel singing with the New Blood Orchestra and vocalists Ane Brun, Melanie Gabriel, Sevara Nazarkhan and Tom Cawley.

The setlist included songs from his previous orchestral covers album Scratch My Back and new orchestral arrangements of his solo songs, most of which went on to appear on the studio album New Blood. A single CD version of Live Blood formed part of the New Blood Deluxe Edition DVD released in 2011. The concerts were filmed in 3D.

The orchestral versions were arranged by John Metcalfe with Peter Gabriel except "Signal To Noise" which was arranged by Peter Gabriel and Will Gregory and "The Book of Love", which was arranged by Nick Ingman. The songs were conducted by Ben Foster, who is best known for his work on the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who, except "In Your Eyes" which was conducted by John Metcalfe.

I remember a film that I saw, about how he made his music. He went around everywere recording diffrent sounds that he could use to put in his keyboard and use as a sound on it..totally brilliant. The product was amazing.
Did u guys know that in 1970, he played the flute on Cat Stevens' album, Mona Bone Jakon.

Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill

This man has been a great inspiration to me for a long time.
Peter is releasing a new album in october 2011 "New Blood"
He have done 8 studio album, 2 live album and 4 compilation once.

Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra are currently on tour in North America, performing music from his last album Scratch My Back and previewing tracks from his forthcoming studio album New Blood. Both New Blood, the album and Live In London, the DVD (in standard definition and 3D), will be released this autumn.

In 1986 he started what has become a longstanding association with Amnesty International, becoming a pioneering participant in all 28 of Amnesty's Human Rights Concerts — a series of music events and tours staged by the US Section of Amnesty International between 1986-1998. He performed during the six-concert A Conspiracy of Hope US tour in June 1986; the twenty-concert Human Rights Now! world tour in 1988; the Chile: Embrace Of Hope Concert in 1990 and at The Paris Concert For Amnesty International in 1998. He also performed in Amnesty's Secret Policeman's Ball benefit shows. He spoke of his support for Amnesty on NBC's Today Show in 1986

Today I will play a great tune for u, You will enjoy it :)

"Solsbury Hill" is a song by British musician Peter Gabriel, about a spiritual experience atop Solsbury Hill in Somerset", England. Gabriel wrote the song after his departure from the progressive rock band Genesis, of which he had been the lead singer since its inception, explaining the reasons behind his departure." It was his debut single. The single was a Top 20 hit in the UK and reached the Top 70 on the Billboard Hot 100."

It has been used in a number of movies, for example in the soundtracks of the 2001 film Vanilla Sky, and the 2004 film In Good Company. The song has been covered by many artists, including moe., Dave Matthews, Erasure, Sarah McLachlan, Saga, and Justin Hines, among others.

The song uses a 7/4 time signature for the vast majority of the song. The last two measures of each chorus are in 4/4.

Peace, Thetania

Ane Brun - Do You Remember

Ane Brun is a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, born in Molde, Norway in 1976. Since 2003 she has recorded six albums, three of which are studio albums, a live DVD and a collection of duets. She has lived in Stockholm, Sweden since 2001, where she writes, records and runs her own label (Balloon Ranger Recordings) when not on tour.

"Do You Remember" is the first single from Ane Brun's forthcoming album "It All Starts With One". The record, which is produced by Tobias Froberg, would have been recorded as early as 2010 but was postponed when both Peter Gabriel and Ani DiFranco - two artists who meant a lot to Ane - invited her to their tours. On Peter Gabriel's upcoming album "New Blood" continues his collaboration with the Norwegian-born, now 10 years Sweden-based singer.
To Ane Brun's own album was delayed has frustrated the fast-growing fan base she built up with their three studio albums and his assiduous touring. But the year on a world tour gave Ane time to write even more songs and more to work through those she already had written. During those magical recording days in Stockholm this spring was no one in the artist's inner circle as longer doubted that the time was perfect. Everything just fell into place.

Ane Brun says that todays tune "Do You Remember” was one of the very last songs she wrote to the album. She had an idea in her head about the background choirs that would be energetic, desperate and folk-inspired. At first she thought that she should do the singing herself, but after a concert with international duo First Aid Kit, she felt immediately that it was their magical distinctive sound she wanted! She asked them immediately after the show, they said yes! A few days later came the sisters to the studio and delivered the sound she had dreamed of.

The forthcoming album "It All Starts With One" released in September 2011 and the following month goes Ane Brun on the European tour, concert listings for Sweden are:

October 4 - Stockholm, Circus
October 7 - Gothenburg Trägårn
October 8 - Malmö Palladium

Genesis - Mama

You will not forget it's Mother's Day today?, especially if you live in Sweden.

Important to remember! We do not forget it anyway, a tune for Mama on the Tune Of The Day is today's choice.

A band that we know most mothers love and a song we think works well for this day.

Genesis are an English rock band that formed in 1967. The band currently comprises the longest-tenured members Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. Past members Peter Gabriel, Anthony Phillips and Steve Hackett also played major roles in the band in its early years. Genesis are among the top 30 highest-selling recording artists of all time with approximately 150 million albums sold worldwide.

Todays tune "Mama" was the first single from Genesis' 1983 self-titled album (often referred to as the "shapes album" or simply The Mama Album, after the first track). Instantly recognizable from its harsh drum machine introduction composed by Mike Rutherford, which leads into minimalist synthesizer lines in minor keys and finally Phil Collins' reverb-laden voice, "Mama" serves notice that the album which follows will be considerably darker than previous efforts.

The track also has a powerful final verse punctuated with a live drum kit (modified with the trademark "gated reverb" effect), comparable to Collins' earlier solo recording "In the Air Tonight”. The song has resurfaced in 2007 as part of the Turn It On Again tour, albeit transposed down a tone to account for the deepening of Phil Collins' voice as he grew older.

This is for you Mama!
