Ufo - Love To Love

Sunday, time for a classic. Today we go in the sign of Love with a tune taken from the sixth studio album "Lights Out" by the British rock band UFO, released in May and also on 11 October 1977.

The album was UFO's first to feature lush string arrangements alongside more complex song structures than their previous albums. Producer Ron Nevison brought in Alan McMillan to handle the string and horn arrangements.

2008 EMI's remastered edition includes 4 live bonus tracks, recorded at The Roundhouse, London. The album cover erroneously states that these tracks were recorded in 1976, but the correct year is 1977. EMI did correct the writing credits, with Paul Raymond finally being credited for his contributions.

The most notable song to feature the orchestral coloring was "Love to Love" which became one of the bands most successful singles. The tune were featured in the 1999 movie Detroit Rock City. "Love to Love" was also covered by Djali Zwan for the 2002 movie Spun.

Steve Harris - primary songwriter, founder, leader and bassist of British heavy metal band Iron Maiden - calls Love To Love his favourite song.

Misty green and blue, Love to love to love you that is part of the lines in todays tune "Love To Love".

Graveyard - Endless Night

Monday again, which means it's time to present this week's album!!

Graveyard, the Swedish demigods of bluesy, psychedelic rock, have just released their new album "Lights Out", which is released on October 29.

With the third album "Lights Out", has the band become slightly softer with a warmer sound. The production sounds wonderfully intelligent and analog, sometimes colored by a piano or vibraphone. I doubt that "Lights Out" has no problem to meet the high expectations and is ready to hit the road.

The four-piece band of vocalist/guitarist Joakim Nilsson, bassist Rikard Edlund, drummer Axel Sjöberg and guitarist Jonathan Ramm showed an utter mastery of their form with the creation of the album.

Graveyard - Goliath

Today releases Swedish Graveyard their first single "Goliath" from the upcoming highly anticipated next album "Lights Out" due October 26th.

The new single release will include a special non-album track, "Leaving You." The 7“ vinyl version will be issued in four different colors, featuring four different cover artworks!

After the stunning cover for Hisingen Blues, the entire community is eagerly awaiting the new album's artwork!

“The cover is something completely different than the last cover,” states the band. “Our goal was that both the title and the cover would sum up the feeling of the album. And just to make things clear, "Lights Out" is not a reference to either UFO or ENTOMBED… even though both are excellent bands.”

"The lyrics deal with the feeling that everyday life is a constant David vs. Goliath scene. You all know the story and the scene. You look around, get pissed off and want to "stick it to the man." Musically it has many influences. And as usual we've tried to get it both heavy and swinging at the same time. So why don't you just shake your record collecting old ass to the beat of the new tune from your favourite Swedish numbskulls?“

Todays tune "Goliath" is the first single from the upcoming album, "Lights Out", coming October 26th. The 7" vinyl and the digital download is out today, September 21, 2012. Directors: Artur Wolgers / Dea Saracevic. Production: Mexico86
