Walter Trout - They Call Us Working Class (but we ain’t workin’ anymore)

New Jersey-born blues-rocker Walter Trout (born 1951, Ocean City, New Jersey) spent decades as an ace sideman, playing guitar behind the likes of John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, and Joe Tex.
In 1981 be became the guitarist for blues rock band Canned Heat. This led to an invitation to play in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers where he shared the stage with guitarist Coco Montoya. He left the Bluesbreakers in 1989 and formed the Walter Trout Band which developed a successful following in Europe.
On the 2006 release Full Circle, Trout realized his dream of creating an album with some of his most admired musicians, including John Mayall, Coco Montoya, and Joe Bonamassa, among others. Walter is out on tour with his Radicals and they visit Stockholm & Debaser yesterday and gave the audience a great evening.
All i can say that im still stunned after his handling with the guitar, he knows what he is doing and he is a real master on it. The crew was great and i really like the little extra when the backline tech "Andrew" jumped in on guitar and vocal.
Todays tune is the new one, enjoy!

Chickenfoot - Oh Yeah

Chickenfoot is the title for the supergroup featuring vocalist Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen), bassist Michael "Mikey" Anthony (also ex-Van Halen), guitarist Joe Satriani and drummer Chad Smith (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers). "Chickenfoot" it's a silly name for a band, but it sounds great.

Just listen to todays tune and you will get it.
This is the first single from the upcoming self-titled release by Chickenfoot.
And
Enjoy!

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Sat down and wanted to decide one of my rock favorites but nothing felt right.

This song felt right in some odd way.

Queen

My first Queen album Sheer Heart Attack I traded away..for...hm..what was it...ah yea Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Ah well, Freddy Mercury that did 90% of what Queen is,
Im sorry all Queen fans but thats my opinion.

Did u guys know that in 2003, four new songs were recorded by Queen for Nelson Mandela's campaign against AIDS.
In 2006 May and Taylor announced that they gonna have a reunion, with Paul Rogers
And they even did an album called The Comos Rocks and that album saw the daylight in 2008, shame on me I havent heard it yet.. ah well ill dream away a bit and enjoying this tune hope u do as well.

Bruce Springsteen - Tougher Than The Rest

Today its time for a classic, its Bruce time :)
Well this tune is good, taken from Tunnel of Love, his eighth studio album released in 1987.

After the tremendous success of Born in the U.S.A., Springsteen took his foot off the throttle quite a bit on Tunnel of Love.

"Tougher Than the Rest" was released as a single in some countries, but was not released as a single in the United States. Although it was not released as a single in the United States, it reached as high as #3 on the Swiss charts, and also reached the Top 20 in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Austria.
Like much of the Tunnel of Love album, "Tougher Than the Rest" was recorded in Springsteen's home studio, called Thrill Hill East, between January and May of 1987 with several members of the E Street Band. On this song, Springsteen played several instruments and is backed by Danny Federici on organ and Max Weinberg on percussion. Although it was originally written as a rockabilly song, the final version has a slower and more methodical rhythm.

Enjoy!

Zodiac Mindwarp - Prime Mover

Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction are a British hard rock group.
The band is the brainchild of Mark Manning, a graphic artist and editor of London's Flexipop magazine. Deciding to experience the debauchery of life as a decadent rock star, he assumed the alter ego, Zodiac Mindwarp, and formed the Love Reaction in the mid 1980s together with guitarist Cobalt Stargazer (real name Geoff Bird), who curiously enough once also played for Wham!. Other band members who came and went over the years include Kid Chaos (real name Stephen Harris), Slam Thunderhide, Evil Bastard, Trash D Garbage (real name Paul Bailey, now playing guitar with Creme Brulee), Flash Bastard (real name Jan Cyrka), Suzy X, Tex Diablo, and Robbie Vom.
Zodiac co-wrote the track "Feed My Frankenstein" which appeared on the Alice Cooper album Hey Stoopid. Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction recorded their own version of the song which appeared on the album Hoodlum Thunder.

Today Zodiac and his Love Reaction played @ Harry B James, to bad i didn't have the chance to visit the gig but, i will honor him with a tune.

Leather Nun - Gimme Gimme Gimme

The Leather Nun were a Swedish rock group. Careening from garage rock to goth and industrial, Leather Nun became cult heroes in their native land.
The Leather Nun was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1979 by Jonas Almquist (vocals), Bengt "Aron" Aronsson (guitar), Freddie Wadling (bass), and Gert Claesson (drums). The band took its name from the American underground comic Tales from the Leather Nun, although some claim that it was taken from the stage name of a London stripper.
Inspired by such groups and artists like Throbbing Gristle, Velvet Underground, Ramones and Roxy Music, The Leather Nun recorded their debut EP, Slow Death, in 1979. John Peel played this song every night for two weeks on his BBC radio programme. Wadling left The Leather Nun in 1982 and joined Blue for Two. A handful of singles followed before The Leather Nun released their first LP, Alive, in 1985.
Covering ABBA's "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" earned the group some respect in Sweden and Europe in 1986. Several successful tours followed. In the end of May will The Leather Nun give 2 shows to celebrate thier 30 yrs. anniversary.
Enjoy todays tune.

Alternately known as "The Taildragger", Ford, in reference to his age, has been known to tell studio musicians, "T-Model Ford is going to remember you sorry fuckers how it's done."

Korn feat. Xzibit - Fight the Power

The mixing things has been a kinda successful thing to do, specially when the ingredients has been carefully selected.
I think that hardcore Rap, things with great attitude is mixing well with hard rock as in this example.
Xzibit and Korn, doing the old Public Enemy song, not to bad.

This Song can be found on the "xXx2: State of the Union" Soundtrack!

Enjoy

The Verve - Love Is Noise

British rock band The Verve released a new album "Forth" last year, i havent really payed much attention to it, i dont really not sure why, perhaps i got to much with the last or i havent been convince with his solo things.
Although Ashcroft is contractually obligated to record another solo album, Jones doesn't feel that will interfere with the group's future, as he stated: "All of us want to pursue this (continuing as The Verve). It's something that means a lot to all of us." Added to this he mentioned the possibility to tour North America "towards the end of this year or the beginning of the new one" and that "this [reunion] definitely is an ongoing concern; it's not something that we're all just gonna chuck away again"
Anyway, got hold on the latest album and have listen to it and yes i do like it.
"Love Is Noise" was the first single from the album witch is also todays tune.

Spice And The RJ Band - Paralell

Spice And The RJ Band from Helsingborg, Sweden, the bands sounds is ‘70s psychedelic/soul/blues/hard rock
With many of you the name Spice will sound very familiar and that is probably due to the fact that he used to be the vocalist with the very popular Spiritual Beggars and after that period he joined the band Kayser. With his new band Spice And The RJ Band (where the R is representing drummer Bob Ruben and the J stands for Johann, a long-time friend and ex-roadie of a previous band of Spice) they are playing around in the stoner rock genre and they are combining pure heavy metal with the necessary psychedelic influences.

Check up todays tune and enjoy some great Swedish Rock.

Titiyo - Stumble To Fall

Titiyo Yambalu Felicia Jah (born July 23, 1967) is a Swedish pop singer and
songwriter. She has been awarded four Swedish Grammys.

Titiyo was born in Stockholm, Sweden, to Amahdu Jah, a Sierra
Leonean drummer, and Maylen Bergström. Her older half-sister

In spring 2008, Titiyo was asked to contribute vocals to Kleerup's single
"Longing for Lullabies." Released in April 2008 in Scandinavia, the single
has since reached the top 20 in Denmark and top 10 in Sweden.
Titiyo released her fifth album, Hidden, on the Swedish independent label
Sheriff late 2008. The album mainly feature self-penned material but also
results of collaborations with the likes of Kleerup, Moto Boy, and
Goran Kajfes of Oddjob.

Yesterday Titiyo gave a show @ Debaser/Stockholm.
Its was a nice set up off blue things and a few birches floating on the stage
and the some nice drapes in blue. The lights was blue and the extra effekt
lights was blue :) This year Titiyo is celebrating 20 years as an artist and she
really impress. The introduction was magnifico and unexpected.
Titiyo started with "X" with closed eyes sitting in a chair, all dress in blue and
black with a little bird in her hair. She goes thru songs like Gnome, Lullabies,
Misunderstood, Standby beauty, Mud. "Stumble to Fall" was freaking cool live,
like a huge trip to the Neverland a real psychedelic tune live.
"If only your bed could cry" she did together with Moto Boy. She freaks out
a little into some free-jazz with all her musical accessories she has.

Tomorrow she will perform @ Debaser / Malmö, so if you guys live around there,
go and she her. Its a wonderful musical trip.

Anyway its time for todays tune is from her latest album "Hidden" and its
called "Stumble to Fall". Enjoy!

Ammotrack - S.H.O.U.T

Ammotrack from Skövde/Sweden. Has an combination of heaviness, really cool melodies and stone-hard rock n' roll attitude.

Ammotrack had a fabulous year under 2008 with thier debut album that climbed high on the charts.
Nominations as the years breakthrough on Bandit Rock Awards, nominations for the years new arrivers and the years hard-rock on Swedish Metal Awards and gigs on Arvikafestivalen, Sweden Rock Festival, Monsters Of Mora, and the band has toured a lot and has been the supporting act for bands such as Hardcore Superstar and D-A-D, both in Sweden and Europe.

D-A-D - Sleeping My Day Away

More D-A-D, as promised i will deliver a classic one, i could say that this is the biggest tune they have "Hit list Vise"
Its a great tune indeed.

And i was lucky to have some time over to get a few shots during that night.
Its with my pocket camera so not the best quality.

Stig's bass guitars only have two strings, some even only one string. Stig designs his own bass guitars based on his own ideas and imagination. I really like the rocket one, its so far out as it can be.

And yes the band closed their live performance with the song It's After Dark. As they usally do.
And yes, D-A-D is in very good shape and sounds great live so dont miss them.

Todays tune is from Roskilde Festival .01.07.2005

D-A-D - Monster Philosophy

D-A-D is a Danish rock band previously known as Disneyland After Dark, a name that had to be changed after a threatening lawsuit from The Walt Disney Company. Their style of music is often categorized as melodic heavy rock. They have also used the names D.A.D., D•A•D and D:A:D, each name represents a period in the band's history.

Today D-A-D had a gig @ klubben/Stockholm, Sweden together with Ammotrack (More with them in a few days)
D-A-D are a bunch of nice guys and the crew was the same so i would say that i really enjoyed working with them.
So why not kick out the new title track from the 10th studio album from one of Denmarks most popular and persistent rock bands. that is also the name off the tour they are doing, Monster Philosophy.
Tomorrow i will give you a classic with some nice shots that i was able to get, haven't gone thru them yet.

So enjoy todays tune.

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead - Mistakes & Regrets

...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead (often abbreviated as Trail of Dead) is an American art rock band from Austin, Texas.
According to the band's website, their name is taken from an ancient Mayan ritual chant which shows a striking similarity to an ancient Egyptian chant. However, this explanation is said to be merely an ongoing joke. The chief creative elements of the band are Jason Reece and Conrad Keely. The two switch between drumming and lead vocals and guitar, both on their records and during their shows. (On some songs, former bass player Neil Busch sang lead vocals). As of February 2009, the band has released six studio albums. Their sixth album, The Century of Self, was released on February 17, 2009.

Todays tune is taken from thier second album release "Madonna"
