L.A. Rats - I've Been Everywhere

Thursday, time for a cover.

"I've Been Everywhere" is a song written by Australian country singer Geoff Mack in 1959, and made popular by Lucky Starr in 1962.

The song as originally written listed Australian towns. It was later adapted by Australian singer Rolf Harris with English and Scottish toponyms (1963), and by John Hore (later known as John Grenell) with New Zealand toponyms (1966). In 1962, the song was a number-one US country hit for Hank Snow. The song was also recorded by Lynn Anderson (US 1970), ASLEEP At THE WHEEL (US 1973), Johnny Cash (US 1996), Ted Egan, the "Farrelly Brothers" from the television series The Aunty Jack Show (Australia 1974, a parody version, on the album Aunty Jack Sings Wollongong), John Grenell (NZ 1966), Mike Ford (Canada, 2005), The Sunny Cowgirls and the Statler Brothers. Harvey Reid also included the song in his Dreamer or Believer album.

In 2021, supergroup L.A. Rats, which consists of Rob Zombie, Nikki Sixx, John 5, and Tommy Clufetos, covered the song for most all-star covers typically were tied to soundtracks. That’s the case here with L.A. Rats when covering “I’ve Been Everywhere” for Netflix film, "The Ice Road" soundtrack. The oft-covered track was initially performed by Geoff Mack, became popularized by country legend Johnny Cash and takes a grittier turn here with Zombie’s energetic vocal and the rocked-up backing.

Fall Out Boy - Young And Menace

On April 27, 2017, FALL OUT BOY announced their upcoming seventh album will be released September 15, titled "M A N I A". The first single "Young and Menace" was released the same day.

While widely considered to be a pop punk band, FALL OUT BOY has also been described as pop rock emo and emo pop, and cites emo group THE GET UP KIDS as an influence among many other bands. With the new single the band moves away from the punkier, rock n’ roll sound of their past and have take the next step to a more uprising, industrial EDM and electronic sound and have given the tune a a touch of dubstep.

The gentle pull of a tide that rolls over and over again and by the sheer nature of its essence it becomes an indestructible will- ripping out sand- eroding what was before it- without a care... a transformational monster-becoming the madness and frenzy of a truly bulletproof wave. I'm not just here for your love, I'm here for all of the love. An overdose of dopamine- we are living inside of MANIA right now. the never sleeping, never blinking- caught forever in the sunshine riptide. - Pete Wentz

The M A N I A tour begins in the U.S. on October 20th. Get all the details on dates and tickets here, see all the dates below.

$1 from every ticket sold will go to the FALL OUT BOY Fund, benefiting charities throughout Chicago.

Here’s act #1 "Young and Menace” as today's tune. Directed by SCANTRON & Mel Soria

Kill me twice like my name was Nikki Sixx
I woke up in my shoes again but somewhere you exist singing
Oops I, did it again, I forgot what I was losing my mind about
Oh, I only wrote this down to make you press rewind

Sixx:A.M. - Rise

Today it's Thetania's birthday, so we sing loud, high and clap our hands and celebrate her with a tune that I know she like. Yesterday did one of hers favorite rock acts SIXX:A.M. play here in Stockholm at Gröna Lund, yes she was there and she was happy about it, the smile was so big when she returned home, I guess that is a great review of the evening. I had the chance to see part of their show during the weekend, where David Draiman (DISTURBED) joined SIXX:A.M. for a MÖTLEY CRUE cover, they played "Shout At The Devil", kinda cool and very good version. Anyway...

SIXX:A.M. is a hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba, and James Michael, and is the side project of Sixx, who was also the bass guitarist for MÖTLEY CRUE. The group is best known for their songs "Life Is Beautiful" and "Lies of the Beautiful People". The name SIXX:A.M. is a combination of all of the member's last names (Sixx, Ashba, Michael).

To date, SIXX:A.M. have released four studio albums; The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack (2007), This Is Gonna Hurt (2011), Modern Vintage (2014) and Prayers for the Damned Vol. 1 (2016), and three EPs; X-Mas In Hell (2008); Live Is Beautiful (2008) and 7 (2011).

Today's tune "Rise"! taken from SIXX:A.M.'s latest album "Prayers for the Damned". This is for you Thetania, I hope you get a great and wonderful day!

Sixx:A.M. - Gotta Get It Right

Sixx:A.M. is a hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba, and James Michael, and is the side project of Sixx, who is also the bass guitarist for Mötley Crüe. The group is best known for their songs "Life Is Beautiful" and "Lies of the Beautiful People". The name Sixx:A.M. is a combination of all of the member's last names (Sixx, Ashba, Michael).

To date, Sixx:A.M. have released two studio albums; The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack (2007) and This Is Gonna Hurt (2011), and three EP's; X-Mas In Hell (2008); Live Is Beautiful (2008) and 7 (2011). The band's third album Modern Vintage was released on 7 October 2014.

Sixx:A.M. celebrated the release of the third album "Modern Vintage" by playing their first live show since 2009 two nights ago at iHeart Radio Theater in Los Angeles, CA in front of an intimate crowd, hosted by Trey Morgan from 98.7, LA’s alternative radio and in partnership with iHeartRadio Live. The big announcement at the event was that SIXX:A.M. will be embarking on their first-ever headline tour in 2015 playing a limited number of dates across North America with special guest Apocalyptica. Says bassist Nikki Sixx: “Fans have been asking for years “When is Sixx:A.M. gonna tour?” and we’ve finally announced our first headline tour. We can’t wait to play these songs live and put on a rock extravaganza for our fans. We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing along Apocalyptica as special guest because we are fans of their music and think this is going to be an amazing night of music from beginning to end”. Eicca Toppinen, cellist of Apocalyptica adds: “When we heard about this tour, we loved the idea right away! We were on Nikki’s radio show before and had a great time. I really liked Sixx:AM’s first two albums and am very much looking forward to the new record. Going on tour with Sixx:AM will bring a great night of music to all our fans.”

“It is extremely exciting to get the band on the road. The demand for them to perform live has been building over the years. We can finally give the fans what they have been asking for,” says the band’s agent, Peter Pappalardo of Artist Group International. To round out the band’s live lineup they have added drummer, Jeff Fabb (In This Moment, Black Label Society, Filter) into the mix. Says singer James Michael: “For three records now we have been envisioning what a Sixx:A.M. headline tour would look and feel like. We are so excited to finally be bringing these songs to life”. Adds guitarist DJ Ashba: “Over the years we feel we have taken our fans on some pretty incredible and diverse musical journeys. However, they have only been able to experience half of our vision. For the first time we are going to present a visual journey to go along with the music. This tour will be something you won’t want to miss. This will be the ultimate Sixx:A.M. Experience”.

Todays tune “Gotta Get It Right” is the first single off the band’s new album, Modern Vintage.

Newsted - Soldierhead

Former Metallica man Jason Newsted is standing on his own and ready for a solo career. Late last year he announced the launch of his official website for information on his projects. In addition to his new project sounds absolutely brilliant, it's heavy, melodic and hard, I became interested in his creative talent, proved that this man is a devil to paint

From 1986 until 2001, Jason Newsted was the bassist for heavy metal band Metallica. During the 1990s, he met drummer Jesus Mendez Jr., who helped out at the Metallica headquarters and later served as a drum tech on a tour for Newsted's former musical group Echobrain. In the late 2000s, Newsted met guitarist Jessie Farnsworth; the trio began working on music and writing songs. Newsted began writing songs on software application GarageBand in August 2012, before giving them Mendez Jr. and Farnsworth to learn. In October 2012, the band began recording songs at Newsted's home studio called Chophouse Studio; they later recorded another set of songs in December 2012. The band recorded a total of eleven songs which they plan to release during the first six months of 2013.

While recovering from his shoulder injury, Newsted found solace through painting. Newsted has turned out a number of large original works of art over the last half a decade. Jason Newsted says that he went "from making crazy and colorful music to making crazy and colorful paintings." His first gallery show opened on May 4, 2010 at Micaëla Gallery in San Francisco.

Newsted's first exhibition of original art will be held May 6 - June 27, 2010 at Micaëla Gallery (49 Geary Street, No. 234) in San Francisco, California.

Commented Newsted: "I am possessed by an undercurrent of kinetic energy that I have channeled through pure artistic creation for as long as I can remember, beginning with childhood drawings and songs, followed by teenage rock and roll based ideas, and ultimately, internationally recognized musical recordings and live performances.

"With the title of most decorated heavy metal bass guitarist of all time intact, my purpose has shifted from making crazy and colorful music, to making crazy and colorful paintings.

"I remain as disciplined, self-motivated, and dedicated to my art, as I have been. It is time for me to climb the next mountain, retaining purity by way of genuine expression in creating art as my quest."

Newsted's paintings express raw visual energy. He uses rich color and an expressive manner to translate his characteristic intensity into hard-hitting paintings.

Here are some of his art, check the video below for a live view of his art. Newsted's paintings express raw visual energy. He uses rich color and an expressive manner to translate his characteristic intensity into hard-hitting paintings.

Speaking on Nikki Sixx’s radio show Newsted says: “One of the most important things in life – but especially when we do this kind of accelerated lifestyle – is when to say when.”

He’d become a Metallica member just 25 days after the bus crash that killed Burton, and seven days after that he embarked on his first world tour with them. Asked if it was a “massive amount of stress” he replies: “So much. On everybody: 22-23-year-old kids, metalheads, all dress the same, act the same, feel the same, drink the same. We didn’t know about the grieving process.”

Listen to this interview with Jason and Nikki Sixx below, it's a interesting story to listen to.

Todays tune "Soldierhead" is taken from the debut EP "Metal" by heavy metal band Newsted, The EP was released on January 8, 2013, under Newsted's own record label Chophouse Records. The EP was recorded at Newsted's own home studio, Chophouse Studio in Walnut Creek, California.

Here is the intreview with Jason done by Nikki Sixx.

Here is a cool video with Jason at his home studio "Slophouse" to talk bass gear, but also to talk art.

Sixx:AM - Lies Of The Beautiful People

I got a present yesterday from Stones :)
Sixx:AM "This is Gonna Hurt"
Nikki Sixx (from Mötley Crüe) side project .

Really good album, I liked what Nikki did b4, So I was all happy.
This album is also followed by a book, like the last album "Heroin Diarys: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star" The new book have the same name as the album (This is Gonna Hurt).

With him he have James Michael on lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, drums, strings, programming and DJ Ashba on lead guitar, backing vocals, DJ Ashba is also Guns N' Roses guitarist.

Originally the group stated they had no intention of touring. After constant support for the band and interest in a tour, they held a nationwide vote for tour dates. The tour was scheduled to start in spring 2008, but had been postponed to the summer due to unforeseeable circumstances.

On April 15, 2008, Sixx:A.M. announced they would be touring as part of Mötley Crüe's Crüe Fest, along with Buckcherry, Papa Roach and Trapt. The tour began in July, 2008, in West Palm Beach, Florida. During Crüe Fest, Papa Roach drummer Tony Palermo served as a touring drummer for the band. A deluxe tour edition of The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack was released in November, 2008, which included a bonus live EP entitled Live Is Beautiful which features recorded performances from the band's summer tour.

I havent seen any gigs planned yet :/

Ah well Lets Enjoy em :)

Cheers, Thetania
