Hoffmaestro - Highway Man

Sunday, time for a classic.

HOFFMAESTRO is a Swedish ska, electronic and alternative pop band. Their music is a mix of Ska with reggae, Techno, New Orleans-funk and Country.

HOFFMAESTRO is an example of the band that has built its reputation and a large fan base through touring rather than through media exposure. The band's breakthrough came with the film Stockholm Boogie in 2005. written, directed and soundtrack recorded by HOFFMAESTRO themeselves, particularly with the theme song "Desperado". In subsequent years, they released two EP's and a full-length album The Storm on Warner Music. The band was nominated for a Grammy for the music video of "Young Dad" and for the song "Highway Man".

They have, among other acts, played on many Swedish music festivals including Peace & Love. Their greatest influences are FUNKADELIC, MANO CHAO, DR. JOHN, GUNS N' ROSES, SKA-P, PAKITO, DAVID RUFFIN and BEASTIE BOYS.

Through frequent touring and songs like "Highway Man", "Desperado" and "The Storm", they have cemented their position as one of the country's best live bands. Their mix between ska and punk, seasoned with lots of energy, makes no one stand still during their concerts. They have played twice before on Big Scene at Gröna Lund here in Stockholm and they always create an almost magical mood, where the audience dances, sings and sounds the band's smallest wave. September 15th it's time to get ready for another HOFFMAESTRO concert at Gröna Lund!

Today's tune "Highway Man" is taken from the 2008 album "The Storm", enjoy!
