The glam-gladiators FEVER DOG released thier new album "Alpha Waves", released November 5, 2021. FEVER DOG is a bunch of very young guys in their 20s, and still manage to produce some great rock from the past.

Founding members, Danny Graham (lead vocals, guitar and songwriter) and Joshua Adams (drums, vocals, general writing and production) have literally been rocking out together in one form or another since they met in their Apple Valley Elementary School.

Mötley Crüe - Primal Scream

Sunday, time for a classic.

Saw the new movie "The Dirt", the 2019 American biographical drama film directed by Jeff Tremaine from a screenplay by Rich Wilkes, about glam metal band MÖTLEY CRÜE. The film stars Douglas Booth, Colson Baker, Daniel Webber, and Iwan Rheon.

Talks of a MÖTLEY CRÜE biopic began as early as 2006, when Paramount Pictures and MTV Films purchased the rights to the book The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band by Neil Strauss. However, the project then languished in development hell for over a decade, going through numerous directors and cast members before Netflix purchased the rights in March 2017. Filming began around New Orleans in February 2018.

The Dirt was released digitally on Netflix on March 22, 2019. It received mixed reviews from critics, who said the film would please fans but that it hesitated "in handling the more troubling aspects of the band's history.

After I saw the movie I got a little CRÜE flash, played a few albums thru and decided to play one of the tunes as a classic. The movie was okay, even if some of the things that were read in the book wasn't told. But in the whole, I guess a pretty decent story of the lads.

"Primal Scream" is a song by the American heavy metal band MÖTLEY CRÜE. The single was released on their 1991 album "Decade of Decadence" 81-91, which was the band's first of many greatest hits compilations. The song charted at number 63 on The Billboard 100 and number 21 on the Mainstream rock charts. The album "Decade of Decadence" was released on October 19, 1991 and "Primal Scream" was one of three newly recorded songs for the album, the other two being "Angela" and "Anarchy in the U.K."

"Primal Scream" features a music video. The uncensored version of the music video (see it below) contained full-frontal nudity of a female dancing at the end, but that scene was edited for heavy rotation when aired on worldwide television.

The song was said by Nikki Sixx himself via an AskSixx session on Twitter in October 2015, to be written about Arthur Janov's 1970 book "The Primal Scream. Primal Therapy: A Cure For Neurosis." As well as his own childhood.

"Decade of Decadence" also featured another single, The remix version of "Home Sweet Home" which was the band's 8th and final Top 40 hit in 1991, reaching #37 on the Billboard Hot 100. The original 1985 version only reached #89 on the same chart.

Supralunar - Ghosts

New week, time for "Record Of The Week"

"Ghosts" is the second album from the Swedish rock trio SUPRALUNAR, the physical release was Februari 15, 2019, the digital was November 30, 2018.

SUPRALUNAR hails from Stockholm, Sweden and consist of Petri Tuulik the guitar slinger and vocalist, Georgios "Jojje" Vamvatsicos the dexterous bassist and harmonies, the funny guy Johann Enoksson beating the drums, screams and keep a good vibe in the air.

SUPRALUNAR plays a groovy rock, excellent harmonies and heavy riffing.

"Ghosts" is a great follow up to "A New Hope" in all means, the music is still very melodic and catchy, but the package has been upgraded with more heaviness and intensity, the playfulness with spices of BEATLES and SWEET are still there and make the album fun and very joyful to listen to. There are many cool tunes on this ten track album that flows over 44 minutes. Like the intro riffing of the first tune "Life", where you get some 80's heavy metal guitar sound, hey Ozzy, a melody that feels old but sounds new. The title tune "Ghosts" is a catchy piece with a clever guitar picking, heavy bass licks and some doomy parts to create some darkness to raise up the fear. "All Them Angels" is a killer tune, the vocals are just excellent, great harmonies, nice eco riffs, really a powerful track. The more intense rockers like "Superfast Train", "For The Greater Good Of Rock N' Roll" and "No More Days", they all take out the turns but in different directions. The power ballad "My Epiphany" is another stand out tune, beautifully done with a guest vocal by Noelle Leblanc that really add some strong female colouring to this piece, she sings amazing and makes the song grow into something really beautiful. Overall this is a great album that deserves more attention and I hope they will take a few more steps forward with this.

First Aid Kit - Fireworks

The Swedish pop duo FIRST AID KIT have released a new single "Fireworks" and a new video with approach. The video, which stars sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg at an old glammish disco high school prom. The single is taken from the latest album ”Ruins”, released January 19th.

The duo will kick off a headlining North American tour – their first since 2015 – on January 24th in Oakland, California, see all the dates below.

Monday, New Week! Time to introduce "Record Of The Week"

"Amber Galactic", THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRAs (NFO), third album was released on 19 May 2017.

Suddenly my speakers streams classic melodic rock pop with a light glamdisco feeling, my smile gets bigger and I find my self dancing in the living room. Think T.REX, KISS, TOTO, REO SPEEDWAGON and some glittery guitar and the bulky 70s and 80s effects, there you have "Amber Galactic", an totally amazing album.

"Amber Galactic" is a very fun record to play, it's old but very modern. It's very well made, both song and lyrics wise, the production have a very good quality.

The album kicks of with the galloping opener "Midnight Flyer", a real catchy killer tune and the pumping "Star Of Rio", catchy verses and choruses of "Gemini", amazing start of the album. The we get a cool 80's bass line on "Jennie", mid-tempo monster filler like "Josephine" to the classic 80's soundtrack rock "Something Mysterious". The grooving KISS alike "Domino" the up tempo dueling tune "Space Whisperer" to the disco beat in "Saturn in Velvet"

Quiet Riot - Metal Health (Bang Your Head)

Sunday, time for a classic!

"Metal Health", sometimes listed as "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)", "Bang Your Head" or, as it was listed on the Billboard Hot 100, "Bang Your Head (Metal Health)", is a song by the American heavy metal band QUIET RIOT on their breakthrough album, "Metal Health". The song is one of their best known hits and received heavy MTV music video and radio play.

The song title is a play on "Mental Health," and is a celebration of the rebellious nature of Heavy Metal and fans who bang their heads to the music. The target audience was teenage boys; this is evidenced by the video, which shows one of the species undergoing a Metal assault in his bedroom, and by the references to teachers in the lyrics.

Helped by a video that got lots of airplay on MTV, this song helped bring Heavy Metal music with a Pop sheen into the mainstream, paving the way for photogenic Hair Bands of the '80s like MÖTLEY CRUE and TWISTED SISTER. The video was based on the album cover, which showed a guy in a straightjacket and Hannibal Lecter mask. In the clip, he makes a daring escape from the asylum. In 1998, QUIET RIOT lead singer sang on an acoustic version with The Neanderthal Spongecake that appeared on their album The Side Effects Of Napalm. Cevin Soling of The Neanderthal Spongecake explains how this came together:

"Eric Clapton had done his cover of "Layla", of his own song. I thought it was just atrocious, doing this mellow version and that acoustic thing. I thought it was an abomination, and so as sort of a joke I played this acoustic version of QUIET RIOTs "Metal Health" And so, I was working out in the studio while we were working on our album, and it just started coming out really, really well - an acoustic version of the ultimate headbanging song. But it came out brilliantly, and I started adding strings and a choir, and it got pretty insane. But the problem was the original concept of the vocals was supposed to be this hard core kind of slacker vocals over this acoustic sound. But the music was just too good to sort of do that to. So I managed to get in touch with Kevin Dubrow, the lead singer of QUIET RIOT, and asked him if he was interested in singing on it. His initial response was no, because I guess MARILYN MANSON was responsible for getting the band back together again, and then they were actually going to be cutting a new version of that song to sort of exploit it. But he agreed to listen to it anyway. And then after I sent it out to him, he called me immediately and said, 'I have to sing on this. Please let me sing on this.' Because it was such a radical departure, and so unexpected. So he was working as a DJ out in Vegas at the time, and so I flew out to Vegas and recorded with him, and Lindsey Buckingham's son actually was the engineer there. The whole experience was just a lot of fun, working with him. And he was great. I wasn't so much into the heavy metal music, but he was telling me how he had this terrible reputation, but I didn't know anything about his reputation or anything about him being difficult. Because he could not have been easier to work with, could not have been more professional. The whole thing was a pleasure. And I thought, hey, this could be kind of fun to do this kind of concept for a whole album. But not necessarily having people do their own materials, pairing people up with the least likely song that you could imagine them doing. Depending on your definition of "Heavy Metal," Metal Health was the first album in the genré to hit #1 on the Pop charts. >> The song can be heard in the movie Footloose, playing in car of the character Ren. It was also used as the entrance theme for Randy The Ram in the 2008 movie The Wrestler.

The songwriter/producer Spencer Proffer produced the album, including this track. Proffer owned a recording studio and was key to giving QUIET RIOT their start, but much of his later work was far less Metal: he was the music consultant on the show Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, and produced the TV series Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child.

QUIET RIOT is an American heavy metal band. The band was founded in 1973, by guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Kelly Garni under the name Mach 1. They then changed the name to Little Women, before settling on QUIET RIOT in May 1975. The band's name was inspired by a conversation with Rick Parfitt of the British band STATUS QUO, who expressed desire to name a band "Quite Right," and his thick English accent made it sound like he was saying "QUIET RIOT" The band is ranked at No. 100 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

The original line-up featured Rhoads and Garni with lead vocalist Kevin DuBrow and drummer Drew Forsyth. Their most commercially successful lineup consisted of DuBrow alongside guitarist Carlos Cavazo, bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Frankie Banali, and in 1983 released their breakthrough album Metal Health, which is known for being the first heavy metal album to top the Billboard album chart. Despite several lineup changes and brief breakups, QUIET RIOT continued to record and tour until DuBrow's death from a cocaine overdose in 2007. Banali revived the band in 2010, and the current lineup consists of himself on drums, lead vocalist James Durbin, bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi, with no founding members remaining.

The band have continued to record as well as tour following DuBrow's death, and in 2014, they released their first album in eight years titled QUIET RIOT 10, with their next album Road Rage set to follow in summer 2017.

Michael Monroe - Goin' Down With The Ship

The Finish legendary singer Michael Monroe has released a new music video for "Goin’ Down With the Ship" from Monroe’s 2015-released album Blackout States. The video arrives just as Monroe and his band hit U.S. shores for a two-week tour.

"The song is not necessarily about sailing or seamanship as such", Monroe explained. "It’s basically about us getting on the tour bus and hitting the road with our band". Ville Juurikkala, who shot the videos for "Ballad of the Lower East Side", "Stained Glass Heart" and "Old King’s Road" has done this new one, too. It was pretty easy to make and includes some footage shot by the band while we were on tour.

"I think the video has a good vibe and we’re all happy with the way it turned out. Hope you enjoy it!"

With all that in mind, it’s time to go down with the ship!

The 69 Eyes - Jet Fighter Plane

Helsinki's infamous vampires, THE 69 EYES, will release their 11th studio album "Universal Monsters" on April 22, 2016. The first taste is the new single and video "Jet Fighter Plane".

The band formed in the bars of Helsinki, Finland in the summer of 1989 by Jyrki 69, Archzie (formerly of SYYSKUU), Timo-Timo, Lotto and Bazie; THE 69 EYES originally had a glam metal, and a sleaze rock sound and were compared to other Finnish Sleaze Metal acts such as SMACK and HANOI ROCKS. The band's lineup has stayed the same since 1992 when drummer Jussi 69 replaced original drummer Lotto who had played on the band's first two 7 inch vinyl singles.

During summer 2015, the band announced that they are working on a new album with producer Johnny Lee Michaels in Helsinki. Johnny Lee Michaels previously worked with the band on four consecutive albums (Blessed Be, Paris Kills, Devils, Angels.) On the band's official Facebook page, they announced the title of their 11th studio album to be "Universal Monsters" and will be released in April 2016. They also announced the first single "Jet Fighter Plane" to be released on January 15, 2016.

Mötley Crüe - All Bad Things

Iconic rock band Mötley Crüe announced yesterday on Fox and Friends the details of their final performance. This will mark the end of their touring career and will conclude their two year Final Tour cycle at the end of 2015 on New Year’s Eve, December 31 at Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles where the band’s career began 34 years ago. The band will be celebrating this week’s big announcement with a performance on The Tonight Show on 1/22. Mötley Crüe first announced plans for their 2-year Final Tour by signing a Cessation Of Touring Agreement at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, solidifying the end of their Final Tour at the end of 2015.

The 2014 leg of the Final Tour was one of last year’s top grossing tours, selling close to a million tickets across 72 cities and grossing more than $45 million. “Mötley Crüe’s Final Tour has been a massive global success and a true testament to the popularity of this legendary rock band,” says Rick Franks, Live Nation’s Regional President of North American Concerts. “New Year’s Eve 2015 will mark the end of an era in rock history but there’s no doubt that Mötley Crüe’s music will influence generations of artists for years to come.”

After thirty-four years performing together, the 2015 leg of the Final Tour will see the band play Japan in February, then Australia/New Zealand in spring. In June Mötley Crüe will say farewell to the European Festival circuit with 3 massive performances at Download (UK), Sweden Rock (Sweden) and Novarock (Austria) Festivals before taking their can’t-miss show back to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico this summer for 34 final North American shows due to tremendous fan demand.

The North American dates will see the band visit cities such as Chicago, New York, Toronto, Atlanta, Mexico City and will be taking place in arenas exclusively to ensure fans in all cities get to experience the full show production of the Final Tour:

TNT - 10000 Lovers (In One)

Today is Norway's national day, a day usually celebrated properly if you compare it against the Swedish National Day is celebrated. We salute our neighbours by playing a Norwegian song.

TNT is a Norwegian hard rock/glam metal band from Trondheim, formed in 1982. The band has released twelve studio albums, three EPs and two live albums while going through numerous line-up changes since its formation. Guitarist Ronni Le Tekrø is the only consistent member of TNT.

Todays tune "10,000 Lovers (In One)" is a single taken from their 1987 album Tell No Tales.

The song was written about a girl who TNT's vocalist at that time, Tony Harnell, knew. It reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in America, and earned the band a Norwegian Grammy.

In 2006 TNT recorded a new version of the song together with the Norwegian rapper Vinni from the band Paperboys. This version included newly written and controversial rap lyrics, which fueled Harnell to make a statement.

Vinni joined TNT for a couple of performances of the new version in concerts and on national TV shows. It was scheduled to be included on a compilation of Norwegian hits, but it was cancelled due to unknown problems.

Michael Monroe - Ballad Of The Lower East Side

The Finnish rock musician and multi-instrumentalist Michael Monroe, who rose to fame as the vocalist for the glam punk band Hanoi Rocks, and has served as the frontman for all-star side projects, such as Demolition 23. and Jerusalem Slim (with Steve Stevens).

Now he has finished the recording of the new solo album “Horns and Halos”, the album is set to release on August 23rd! The new album was recorded at Park Studios in Stockholm. The album’s first single and todays tune, “The Ballad of the Lower East Side” were the new music video is directed by Ville Juurikkala.

Michael Monroe did perform the new single on Friday night on The Voice of Finland live broadcast. The celebration continues the next night when the band, known for it’s energetic live performances, hits the stage at Virgin Oil, Helsinki.

Michael Monroe’s previous album “Sensory Overdrive”, released in the spring of 2011, was a commercial and critical success which saw the band undertake multiple world tours.

Michael Monroe - Trick Of The Wrist

The Finnish national treasure Michael Monroe in a sense paved the way for both Mötley Crue as Guns N 'Roses. Harvested a great success with his band Hanoi Rocks in the 80's. Now he goes solo with his new band featuring Sam Yaffa (Hanoi Rocks, Demolition 23 & New York Dolls) on bass, guitarist Steve Conte (New York Dolls), drummer Karl Rosqvist (Steel Prophet, Danzig) and the latest recruiting guitarist Dregen (Backyard Babies, Hellacopters), who replaces Ginger, frontman of British band The Wildhearts, who appeared with Monroe for the last time in Provinssirock in June. Dregen's first concert with Monroe was is June 26 at Fishing Harbour in Helsinki when Michael Monroe open for Foo Fighters.

Unlike other members of Hanoi Rocks' in the 1980s, Monroe was never a big drug user or a big drinker although in his book "All Those Wasted Years" Monroe tells about being addicted for a short while to Amphetamine in the 1980s. This appears indeed for this 49 year old chap is in an excellent shape.

With his sixth studio album "Sensory Overdrive" in their luggage did they visited Debaser Medis, Stockholm last night.

That it was a very pleasant evening can surely most people who were there testify about. Something that was difficult during this evening was to pinpoint an average age; for it was really spread out from 18 to 60:) The Swedish relics Nomands opens up and creates a fine atmosphere inside the room with his straight rock, would think that many arrived there under Nomands flag and got Monroe as a bonus.

Michael Monroe's band got a lot of attention, it photographed and conducts interviews, largely due to Dregen connect with his teenage hero. That this little Sly dog is everywhere, is a mystery to me, later in addition to merge their bags with one of his idols, he has been developing its own favorite bag of Candy, or rather pimped an existing product to attract the younger candy-eating public. Polly, manufactured by Cloetta, now comes in a new flavor - licorice, lemon and chocolate in a bag designed by Dregen. He is a really nice guy, he almost always comes up and talk about this and that, we talked for a couple of occasions, one was about the classic band "Secret Service" and their achievements back in time ...you might remember the tunes, Oh Susie! and Flash In The Night :) It is great that is going so well for him, "you're going strike while the iron is hot, someone said”.

How does Dregen fit in the band then? Oh yes, like to be cut out for the job, he lift up the band lots, even the other guitarist Steve Conte ends up in the shade when all the focus lands on Swede and Monroe are enjoying every bit of it now that he has found a irascible equal. Dregen was incredibly enthusiastic about the gig that he kicked wildly around in the air as if he was attacked by a swarm of angry bees. Romp as a small mischievous schoolboy and headbanging so sweat chafed over the audience, in other words, he gave everything.

The bottom line is that this is probably the best setup Monroe had sofar and they really delivered a great gig. Do you have the chance to see them during their tour, so do it.

Crashdiet - Native Nature

Crashdïet is a band (sleaze rock) from Stockholm, which was founded in 2000 by Roberto David Hellman. On Tuesday, did these gentlemens opened up for Ozzy Osbourne at a sold-out Globe Arena. Opening up to the prince of darkness, must surely be a boy's dream fulfilled.

Crashdiet got it a bit tough this evening, a lot of what they wanted to do during their set was refused, so they had to be pleased with offer that the production gave them. For example, Simon wanted to run up with his motorcycle on stage, you know, do a Rob Halford, would have been fun to see but it is understandable that it is not allowed. However, they could been able to get a bit more light.

Gig itself was ok, the boys drove to the reputation and now i can see and hear that it is becoming well-oiled the machinery, the guys are tight and it swings a lot of their sleaze rock. This set was well practiced  keep the time table (30 minutes), Crashdïet set clocked in at 29 minutes and 20 sec.

They opened up with "Breakin the Chain" and ended with 'Wild Generation', see the set list down to. Crash Diet plays tonight at the Close-Up 'boat.
