15 years into their career, TORCHE have established themselves as a cornerstone of American heavy rock. Their new album, "Admission", sees the band expanding on the themes and songwriting prowess that have always reverberated with music fans throughout their critically acclaimed discography. "Admission" feels like their most personal album so far. TORCHE's guitar work is loaded with the drawl of syrupy-sludge riffing, proving to be more crushing than ever before. The band, led by mastermind Jon Nunez, craft unforgettable vocal harmonies with hook-driven, pop sensibilities to match.
"Admission" is the fifth studio album by the American metal band TORCHE released on July 12, 2019 through Relapse Records. This is the bands first material since their previous album "Restarter", released in 2015. The album was produced, engineered and mixed by longtime bassist Jonathan Nuñez and is the first to feature Eric Hernandez on bass guitar after former guitarist Andrew Elstner's departure in November 2016. "Admission" was well received by music critics
Today's tune "Admission" is the title tune from the bands latest release, enjoy!
Time to present album number eight out of ten of the assignments we got. "Choosing 10 vinyl albums that greatly influenced my taste". One album per day, 10 consecutive days. No explanations, no reviews, just covers. Every day I ask someone else to do the same." Throwing the ball at some nice figure at the social media Facebook.
There was a time when AOR, Soft Rock, Westcoast, and Melodic Hard Rock took some space in life. During this time I bought many records that suited that folder. I remember a time when I spent a lot of time with two friends in a Ford Sierra from the early '80s, cruising around the city with some catchy hard rock on the stereo. Music like ASIA, AXE, GREAT WHITE, BALANCE, STAN BUSH, TOTO, FAR CORPORATION, SAGA among many others was played and during this time I got in contact with many new bands and also got a chance to share the once I discovered. The Gainesville, Florida hard rock band AXE was one of the bands that I got recommended, not 100% sure who of them it was, but I guess it was the one who I throw that ball on :) we spend a lot of time with each other and discovered lots of great music over the years. The record that got the most playtime was the band's fourth album "Nemesis". Following the arrival of and touring with MÖTLEY CRUE in 1984, AXE suffered a setback when guitarist Michael Osborne was killed in an auto crash in which a badly injured Bobby Barth was lucky enough to escape with his life. The band dissolved following the tragedy.
Today's tune "I Think You'll Remember Tonight" taken from the 1983 album "Nemesis", enjoy!
The trio of troublemakers from Tampa known as BEERWOLF ingest a few too many mushrooms and take us on a wild and colourful journey with "Magick Warbird", from their album "Planetfall" (released digitally by the band in 2017 and physically by Ripple Music in 2018).
About the song, the band says: "'Magick Warbird’ was written as a love letter to the roots of metal and rock n’ roll, where life is poetic and mythical but dripping sweat and wrapped around thick riffs. It’s what the wizard painted on the back of your Econoline would be listening to, unabashedly so”.
BEERWOLF consists of:
Jason Kleim – Vocal and Bass Guitar
Matthew Howland – Lead Guitar
AJ Prasad – Wooden and Metal Circles
A beautiful beer haze vinyl white with cosmic blue and star white splatter.

The Tampa rockers UNDERØATH are back with a their eighth album "Erase Me", released via via Fearless Records on April 6, 2018.
It is their first album in eight years following "Ø (Disambiguation)" (2010), marking the longest gap between two studio albums in the band's career, and their first one with founding drummer and clean vocalist Aaron Gillespie since Lost in the Sound of Separation (2008). It was recorded in mid-2017 with Matt Squire and mixed by Ken Andrews.
Upon announcing the album, the band updated their Spotify biography to read: "The band who once openly—and without apology—professed their faith-based worldview onstage nightly, have since moved beyond the realm of seemingly impenetrable polemics. At various junctures, "Erase Me" illustrates those moments of sanctuary, anxiety, betrayal and conflict that inevitably arise when humanity grapples with belief systems."
Drummer Gillespie said of the album, "We've had success and we've come through a lot of waters. There's been 11,000 things we've been through so you would think, almost rhetorically, 'What do you need now?' All of us are finally in that place in our lives where the only thing we care about is inclusion for everybody—for the world. For me, exclusion is the scariest thing in the world. And I think Underoath coming back now with a new record—which none of us thought was possible—we want people to know that this is your music and you can feel however the fuck you want about it. I just want to prove that we are doing everything in the most honest way we ever have. This is the healthiest we've ever been as a group of people, as musicians, and in our worldview."
UNDERØATH are:
Timothy McTague – lead guitar, backing vocals, bass
Christopher Dudley – keyboard, synthesizer
Aaron Gillespie – drums, clean vocals, piano
Spencer Chamberlain – lead vocals, additional guitars
Grant Brandell – bass
James Smith – rhythm guitar

Florida-based death metal veterans OBITUARY released their eponymously titled tenth studio album on March 17, 2017, it's also the second Relapse release.
A video for the opening tune "Brave" have been made, see it below. The clip, which depicts the band enjoying a day of practice and backyard shenanigans at their home studio outside of Tampa, Florida, was directed by Shaun Egger.
After parting ways with Roadrunner following the release of 2005's "Frozen In Time", OBITUARY released two albums via Candlelight Records — 2007's "Xecutioner's Return" and 2009's "Darkest Day" — before signing with Relapse Records in 2014.
OBITUARY is an American death metal band formed in October 1984 in Tampa, Florida. Initially called EXECUTIONER, the band changed their name to XECUTIONER in 1986 to avoid confusion with the thrash metal band EXECUTIONER from Boston, and then changed their name once again to OBITUARY in 1988. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist John Tardy, lead guitarist Kenny Andrews, rhythm guitarist Trevor Peres, bassist Terry Butler, and drummer Donald Tardy. Obituary has gone through several lineup changes, with Peres and the Tardy brothers being the only constant members. The band was a fundamental act in the development of death metal music and is one of the most successful death metal bands of all time. To date, OBITUARY has released ten studio albums, and with the exception of their 1997–2003 split, they continue to perform live around the world.
Today's tune "Brave" taken from the self titled album, released 2017, enjoy!

"Hold On Loosely" is a 1981 rock song by 38 SPECIAL and the first song to appear on their fourth studio album "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys" in 1981. It is the first single from the album, and made it to #3 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and #27 on the Billboard Hot 100. This song also later appeared on their 1987 album Flashback: "The Best of 38 SPECIAL" and their 1999 album "Live at Sturgis". It is also notable for having been the 13th music video to be played on the first day that MTV aired in 1981.
With "Hold On Loosely", 38 SPECIAL and SURIVIORs Jim Peterik, who co-wrote the song, captured an emotional tug of war that was instantly identifiable to every single walking, raging pack of hormones who was alive in the ‘80s, both male and female.
The situation: you meet that amazing person and fall hard, really hard, for them. So of course from that point forward, you have to make sure that they are aware of your undying love for them, each and every day.
The next steps that follow: they either advise you that they’ve taken out a restraining order, or if they’re mellower about things, they just let you know that it would probably be a good idea to back off for a while.
So rather than get too serious right off the bat, .38 vocalist Don Barnes shares the sage advice given to him by a “girl I left some years ago,” who told him “Just hold on loosely / But don’t let her go / If you cling too tightly / You’re gonna lose control.”
Don’t get nuts — just give her that “space to breathe in” and everything will work out just fine.
"Hold On Loosely", the lead track on the band’s fourth album, 1981’s ‘Wild Eyed Southern Boys,’ helped create the mold for a string of easy-going hits that the .38 members and Peterik would craft together with similar chart success. Peterik continues to write with the band to this day, and worked closely with the group on their most recent studio album ‘Drivetrain’ in 2004.
Speaking about the range of influences that show up in this song, Jim Peterik told us: "The bridge was straight out of the Doobie Brothers songbook. If I look at that song, it's kind of a meld of a lot of influences of mine from that time. The eighth notes are very Cars-like from that time and the bridge was 'What a Fool Believes' upside down. It was a great moment and led to a series of .38 SPECIAL songs that I wrote with them. After that came 'Caught Up In You,' 'Fantasy Girl,' 'Wild-Eyed Southern Boys' and all of those. It was a great run."
Don Barnes of .38 SPECIAL came up with the title. It was something he heard Dinah Shore say on her talk show when she had a guest on talking about giving her husband space in their relationship.
38 SPECIAL (also written .38 SPECIAL) is an American rock band that was formed by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Rockers SHINEDOWN from Jacksonville, Florida released "How Did You Love" in the last quarter of 2016, a tune that spins more than once every day on the radio, somehow it has hooked me and I can hear my self from time to time humming on the tune.
The tune was released as their fourth single from their fifth studio album, Threat to Survival.
SHINEDOWN was formed by Brent Smith in 2001 after the dissolution of his prior band, Smith, still with a contract with record label Atlantic Records, recruited the band's original lineup of Jasin Todd as guitarist, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums. Consistent for the first two album cycles, a few lineup changes followed in the late 2000s, eventually stabilizing with Smith and Kerch, as remaining members alongside newcomers Zach Myers on guitar, and Eric Bass on bass. The group has released five albums: Leave a Whisper (2003), Us and Them (2005), The Sound of Madness (2008), Amaryllis (2012), and Threat to Survival (2015). SHINEDOWN has sold more than ten million albums worldwide.
A cool acoustic & piano version was released as a digital single, see the link below.
The fifth studio album "Threat to Survival" was released on September 18, 2015.
THE TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND — formerly known as the Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band — is a blues rock group based in Jacksonville, Florida, USA. Formed in 2010, the band is led by husband-and-wife musicians Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, and primarily features members from their solo groups. Their debut album, Revelator (2011), won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album. As of 2016, the band has released three studio albums and one live album.
Today's tune "Anyhow" is taken from the third studio album "Let Me Get By", released in 2016. During breaks in touring in early 2015, the band used Trucks and Tedeschi's home studio in Jacksonville, FL to record the album. Unlike their previous album, "Let Me Get By" was written fully by the band, with help from Doyle Bramhall II. Trucks produced the album himself, after having co-produced the band's previous albums.
Thom Jurek of Allmusic wrote "An obvious studio offering, it's warm and resonant, yet crackling with energy and ideas. The feel is loose and grooving, the performances hot... Never has TTB sounded so organic, relaxed, and free. Let Me Get By is the album this group has been striving for since their formation. You need this." Will Hermes of Rolling Stone wrote "Tedeschi has chops, charm, and a workmanlike style that could at times use some pizzazz. But sharing duties with polyvalent vocalist Mike Mattison... and the other soloists, she steers a band greater than its parts, and still growing better." PopMatters wrote of the album "Past TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND records had their charms and their high points but this is the record that gets everything right from the first note to the last and it’s a welcome progression from a band that deserves all the good things coming its way in the wake of this record."
THE TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND perform "Anyhow" from their new album "Let Me Get By" live in their own Swamp Raga Studio.
