Monday, time to introduce this weeks "Record Of The Week", this week we have the 22nd studio release "Bad Magic" from the British metal trio MOTÖRHEAD.
The band have been around for 40 years now, releasing albums, touring and still rock more than others that have been on this long which is an incredible achievement. What makes MOTÖRHEAD so vigorous is they have chosen to maintain their own formula of rock and roll as intact as possible through the years. "Bad Magic" is exactly what you think it would be, an kickass rock album with 13 typical MOTÖRHEAD tunes that will not make you disappointed.
"Bad Magic" is warm and rumbling record with classic dirty riffs signed Phil "Wizzö" Campbell, powerful drums playing by Mikkey Dee and Lemmy sings excellent which almost make it impossible to keep your feets in place. :)
Oh I think I said the same thing last time I did a review of MOTÖRHEAD and their album "Aftershock". Well It's MOTÖRHEAD, they still can deliver an interesting album with straight forward pure-blooded Rock 'N Roll, that you can feel it in your blood and in your bones. "Bad Magic" keeps a good standard with many excellent tunes.
That MOTÖRHEAD have some problems at the moment is clear, shows have been cancelled. Obviously the greatest concern here is for the man's health, he is not 20, so take care of your health man, we want you around for as long as possible. Look, Lemmy is a legend – 49% motherfucker, 51% son of a bitch!
The album was produced by Cameron Webb and features on the bold cover of THE ROLLING STONES "Sympathy For The Devil".
To sum this up with a short line: Timeless sound, You Need This! (If you dig this band, go out and buy it for gods sake)
Think energy
Think crackle
Think volume
Think snap
Think thick bass riding with crunching riffs
Think rich, loud, raw, ebullient ELECTRICITY, the first single from Motörhead’s forthcoming album Bad Magic, and a storming statement of intent to underscore that most righteous of phrases, if it’s too loud, you’re too old!
Electricity; two minutes and 17 seconds of pure, raw Motör power.
As Lemmy says,
"Freedom to believe don’t have a price
Innocence never gets too old
You need a bolt of rock
Severe toxic shock
Electricity deep in your soul”
The man, and the band, don’t lie…
…So get some “Electricity" and fast.
Todays tune "Electricity" is taken from "Bad Magic", a tune that contains a classic MOTÖRHEAD fashion!
