METALLICA and The Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) received the Polar Music Prize 2018 at a ceremony at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm in June 2018. Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo from METALLICA attended the event, as well as Dr Ahmad Sarmast, the founder of ANIM.
Several artists honored the Laureates during the evening; Aryana Sayeed, Loreen, GHOST, CANDLEMASS, Vargas & Lagola, MONEYBROTHER with Seek & Destroy, Dennis Lyxzén, Mikkey Dee, Loney Dear and Tuva Syvertsen. The host of the evening was Swedish mezzo-soprano and journalist Boel Adler.

"Johnny B. Goode" is a 1958 rock-and-roll song written and first recorded by Chuck Berry. The song was a major hit among both black and white audiences, peaking at number 2 on Billboard magazine's Hot R&B Sides chart and number 8 on its Hot 100 chart.
The song is one of Berry's most famous. It has been recorded by many other artists and has received several honors and accolades. It is also considered one of the most recognizable songs in music history. The song is ranked as number seven on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
Written by Berry in 1955, the song is about an illiterate "country boy" from the New Orleans area, who plays a guitar "just like ringing a bell," and who might one day have his "name in lights." Berry has acknowledged that the song is partly autobiographical and that the original lyrics referred to Johnny as a "colored boy", but he changed it to "country boy" to ensure radio play. As well as suggesting that the guitar player is good, the title hints at autobiographic elements, because Berry was born at 2520 Goode Avenue, in St. Louis. The song was initially inspired by Johnnie Johnson, the regular piano player in Berry's band, but developed into a song mainly about Berry himself. Johnson played on many other recordings by Berry, but Lafayette Leake played the piano on this song.
The opening guitar riff of "Johnny B. Goode" is essentially a note-for-note copy of the opening single-note solo on Louis Jordan's "Ain't That Just Like a Woman" (1946), played by guitarist Carl Hogan. Neither the guitar intro nor the solo are played at once. Berry played the introductory parts together with the rhythm guitar and later overdubbed the solo runs.
Berry has written three more songs involving the character Johnny B. Goode, "Bye Bye Johnny", "Go Go Go", and "Johnny B. Blues"; and titled an album, and the nearly 19 min instrumental title track from it, as "Concerto in B. Goode".

With songs such as "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958), Berry refined and developed rhythm and blues into the major elements that made rock and roll distinctive. Writing lyrics that focused on teen life and consumerism, and developing a music style that included guitar solos and showmanship, Berry was a major influence on subsequent rock music.

The Swedes in TUNGA MOLN were invited to take part in Magnetic Eye Records' "Electric Ladyland [Redux]" tribute to Jimi Hendrix. They submitted their interpretation of "All Along The Watchtower", a hard task indeed, but something they solved brilliant and all the vocals is in their own native language, Swedish.
"All Along the Watchtower" is a song written and recorded by the American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. The song initially appeared on his 1967 album John Wesley Harding, and it has been included on most of Dylan's subsequent greatest hits compilations. Since the late 1970s, he has performed it in concert more than any of his other songs. Different versions appear on four of Dylan's live albums. Covered by numerous artists in various genres, "All Along the Watchtower" is strongly identified with the interpretation Jimi Hendrix recorded for Electric Ladyland with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The Hendrix version, released six months after Dylan's original recording, became a Top 20 single in 1968 and was ranked 47th in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Here's a tribute to recently deceased Jimi Jamison.
Jimi Jamison was the lead singer of Survivor. Best known for "Rocky" songs, "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart". Jimi Jamison tragically died in a heart attack earlier this fall, only 63 years old.
The Colombian metal band Eshtadur has recorded a tribute video to Jamison, the song "Burning Heart". Supported by the Swedish singer Björn Strid (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra) and guitarist Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry).
Björn's involvement is not so surprising. He has often highlighted Jimi Jamison as a great inspiration.

Tommy Johansson. This guy really know how to handle his instrument.
He is in a band called ReinXeed, a symphonic/power metal band from a town called Boden far far up north of Sweden. They was formed in 2004.
They released 5 studio albums and the latest came out in 2012.
