"Easy Livin'" is a song by the British rock band URIAH HEEP, released as the second single from their 1972 album "Demons And Wizards". The band also shot a basic music video for the song in 1972. It was the band's first hit in the United States and the only top 40 hit there, peaking at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1972.

Philadelphia psych rock quintet RUBY THE HATCHET has premiered a cover of URIAH HEEPs 1972 “Easy Livin’” via a new music video, see it below. A staple of their recent live sets, the band recorded the cover at Retro City Studios in NJ.

The group commented on the cover:

“URIAH HEEP is a band favorite and still an unsung hero of sorts in our opinion. Many of their songs make our karaoke cuts, but Easy Livin’ was especially fun to figure out now that we have been toying with live three part harmonies. All of the high notes in our cover are vocally supported by Johnny, and of course Owen…still trying to put a mic in front of Lake. Plus, when you have someone like Sean playing organ, a Heep cover is a must.”

Baroness - Borderlines

The Philadelphia-based progressive metal band BARONESS has returned with a tourniquet and a new lead single "Borderlines", taken from the forthcoming album "Gold & Grey", see the tune below.

The new single sounds great, a takeoff from "Purple" (2015). The Video is spacy and trippy, six-minute riff-beast with great soaring harmonized vocals.

Gold & Grey is due June 14 via Baroness' own Abraxan Hymns label and with a stunning cover painting.

"Borderlines" marks the bands first new material since Gleason took over for Pete Adams following his departure in 2017. The new album was recorded in upstate New York with famed FLAMING LIPS prog-fuzz producer Dave Fridmann. (Fridmann also produced the last BARONESS album, 2015’s "Purple".)

BARONESS recently embarked on a massive co-headlining tour with fellow boundary-pushing rockers DEAFHEAVEN.

Low Cut Connie - Revolution Rock n Roll

LOW CUT CONNIE is a rock and roll band based in Philadelphia and formed in 2010. The band has been recognized by various media in the US for their records and high-energy live show, of which the L.A. Weekly recently said "Their ferocious live show...is unmatched in all of rock right now." Frontman Adam Weiner plays a piano named "Shondra," after a dancer at the Clermont Lounge in Atlanta.

Before the release of "Hi Honey", Finnemore moved back to the UK, and eventually, in spring 2016, the band continued without him. In May 2016, Weiner and the band began an album titled "Dirty Pictures (Part 1)" for release in 2017 in two parts. It was released on May 19, 2017 by Contender Records.

Bardo Pond - Tommy Gun Angel

Sunday, time for a classic.

We continue in the prickly, noisy, psychedelic and generally messed up music. That messy music can have such an impact on the human body is right peerless, good in cleansing of the mess that have been stuck there for some time.

So for some Sunday music I think the American psychedelic rock band BARDO POND will suit fine. There music is a messy mix of space rock, acid rock, post-rock, shoegazing, noise and psychedelic rock, droning guitars, thick distortion, feedback, reverb, and washes of white noise.

BARDO POND was formed in 1991 and contains of the current members are Michael Gibbons (guitar), John Gibbons (guitar), Isobel Sollenberger (flute and vocals), Clint Takeda (bass guitar) and Jason Kourkounis (drums). Some BARDO POND album titles have been derived from the names of esoteric psychedelic substances. Their sound has been likened to PINK FLOYD, SPACEMEN 3 and MY BLOODY VALENTINE amongst others.

Today's tune "Tommy Gun Angel" is taken from the third album "Lapsed". It was released on October 21, 1997 on Matador Records. "Tommy Gun Angel" as written by and John Gibbons Joe Culver.

Stinking Lizaveta - A Day Without A Murder

Born in the basements of West Philadelphia and tempered by eighteen years of American and European tours, Stinking Lizaveta has built a reputation as one of progressive metal’s most unique and devastating live acts.

Stinking Liz is a power trio that plays heavy instrumental rock. Something like progressive doom jazz. The band consists of Yanni Papadopoulos on Guitar, Alexi Papadopoulos on Upright electric bass and Cheshire Agusta on Drums

Their released thier debut in 1996 and so far released seven records. The band gets its name from a character in the 1880 Russian novel The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
