"Omens", ELDERs fifth full-length record is on the way, set to be released on April 24th. In the meantime we take a peak on the ELDER side-project "GOLD & SILVER" featuring Nick DiSalvo and Michael Risberg. It's an entirely instrumental project. 1 track each side. Side 1, "Azurite" a mesmerizing psychedelic rock journey clocking at almost 16 minutes and Side 2, "Malachite" captures your mind for slightly over 10 minutes.
The copper minerals from which GOLD & SILVERs two-song debut EP takes its name, "Azurite And Malachite", are blue and green, respectively.
The EP was released on limited vinyl (250 copies, tri-color platter, etc.) through Totem Cat Records. GOLD & SILVER began as Risberg and DiSalvo writing for acoustic guitar, and if “Azurite” (15:42) and “Malachite” (10:08) were constructed the same way, then they maintain that jam-based sensibility, despite being at least directionally plotted and recorded in layers (unless DiSalvo has concocted a way to play guitar and a full drum kit at the same time; live, GOLD & SILVER brings in ELDERs Jack Donovan on bass and John DiSalvo on drums).
"Azurite And Malachite" are available once more on vinyl from Stickman Records - this time on 3 color, 180 gr. marbled vinyl including a download code. This album has been remastered and re-cut for a new pressing by Carl Saff and sounds better than ever!
Also, they are playing their first gig in years and also their first-ever European show at Hintertreffen 2020 in Berlin this March!
They are planning more music to be recorded this winter and will hopefully begin regular musical activity once again.

Monday, new week, time to introduce "Record Of The Week".
"Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light" is the latest release by the Boston anthemic post punk/post metal band JUNIUS.
This is the third full-length album, it's also the final part of this trilogy of conceptual albums composed by "The Martyrdom Of A Catastrophist", "Reports From The Threshold Of Death" and now 6 years later "Eternal Rituals For The Accretion Of Light".
With "Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light" does JUNIUS reaches new levels. The band has never sounded heavier, direct or more progressive than on the new record. Post metal with a symphonic and progressive hand shake, magnificent soundscapes with big triumphs and dark melancholy. Dreams and spirituality is the main theme. Every tune is its own chapter from this musical book. Experimenting with the musical building blocks makes this album captivating and very addictive. The album opens with the grandios piece "March of the Samsara", a powerful progressive tune with massive and hard riffs around a soft post vocals. The celestial "Beyond the Pale Society" is JUNIUS at their heaviest, very powerful and high intensity that continue on the "Mass for Metaphysicians" and the protest tune "Clean the Beast", where both are hypnotically heavy and hard to sit still to. The more movie serie like tune "The Queen’s Constellation", were the tripping keys starts up the engine of the song. To the more chanting tune "Telepaths and Pyramids" with it's Ghosts vibe. "Masquerade in Veils" is a more electronic piece, with darker vocals, almost like Johnny Cash. "Heresy of the Free Spirit" have a eastern vibe with heavy riffing. The album ends with the epic "Black Sarcophagus", a real masterpiece indeed.
Sum: With such a varied musical story and diverse lyrics and vocal styles makes this album really worth your time. But beware, you will play this album more than one time.

HIGHLY SUSPECT is an American powerhouse rock trio from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The band was founded by twin brothers Rich (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Ryan Meyer (drums, backing vocals) and their best friend Johnny Stevens (guitar, lead vocals). After starting as a bar cover band, they relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where they recorded "The Worst Humans" EP with producer Joel Hamilton (ELVIS COSTELLO, PLASTIC ONO BAND, THE BLACK KEYS, WU-TANG-CLAN). The band's first studio album, Mister Asylum, was released on July 17, 2015, earning Highly Suspect a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. The song "Lydia" was also nominated for Best Rock Song. Their second studio album, "The Boy Who Died Wolf" was released on November 18, 2016. It was recorded in Bogotá, Colombia and Brooklyn, New York.
The music is very well made with a great groove in the tunes that could hook anyone. The tunes that I have heard with these guys says that these fellows really have something and I really looking forward to see when they conquer the world.
Today's tune "Serotonia" is taken from the second album "The Boy Who Died Wolf". The first verse of the lyrics is pretty funny and with it's honesty it can cause its fair share of laughs, "I wish that everyone I knew was dead, so that I’d never have to pick up the phone. I just wanna be naked and masturbate all day at home". The song is inspired by Lana Del Rey and is about Johnny's life.
Here I go again, a new week and another wonderful Monday, time to introduce "Record Of The Week".
As the days are getting longer, hotter and more sunny, a weather where the body just freaks out to rhythms of the summer I thought
that a more summerish album could fit in just perfectly.
The inherently talented multi-instrumentalist and producer Scott Woodruff, originally from Massachusetts, the lead man in STICK FIGURE. A man that I have a big respect for, he has manage to stand apart, thanks to his inherent aptitude for composing, he got the rhythms, the groove and all this with a magical feeling. His music has a pretty unique style that creatively blends upbeat roots reggae with the reverberating echoes of dub.
And now, with "Set In Stone", the fifth full length LP, where he and his band faces the big task of living up to 2012’s critically acclaimed "Burial Ground", which is not an easy task to beat, but hey, STICK FIGURE returns with an absolute scorcher of a record!
Preceding "Set in Stone", STICK FIGURE has released five albums, all recorded solo, with (guitarist/vocalist) Scott Woodruff laying down the tracks one by one. The current live band line-up features Kevin Bong (KBong) on keyboards, Kevin Offitzer on drums, Johnny Cosmic on percussion, guitar, keyboard, and bassist Tommy Suliman, with Scott upfront on guitar and vocals.
"Set In Stone" has an vibrant sonic soundscape, an culmination of a journey that has seen the producer go from a mysterious figure to becoming a major player and virtually inventing a melodic subgenre of reggae that finds inspiration from mid-tempo electronic music. With guest features from Slightly Stoopid ("Choice Is Yours"), Rebelution ("Mind Block"), Collie Buddz ("Smokin' Love") and KBong. "Set in Stone" took three years in the making, 14 tracks and by far the best production I have seen on a STICK FIGURE record.
The album starts with a "Fire on the Horizon", a beautifully constructed track, a silky ear-warming distinct tone, trembling guitar riff and a mesmerizing beat with Woodruff’s typical psychedelic vocals that will get anyone to sing along. The album contains typical bas line pattern, great hooks, playful keyboards heard especially in tracks like "Choice is Yours", "Mind Block" and "Smokin’ Love" to the top a pulsating tunes like "Sound of the Sea" and "Sentenced" where both are a wonderful pieces with it's searing bottom-heavy bass line and the later with it's haunting organ riffs.
The mid-tempo romantic love tunes like "In This Love", "Out the Door", "One of Those Days", "Shadow" and "All My Love" with it's modern touch with a classic root beat and positive vibe with hitting keys and smooth riddims.

Monday and a new week, which means we'll introduce this week's "Record Of The Week".
The power trio ELDER hailing from Massachusetts who are pulling off some rather powerful rock on their latest and newest release "Lore"
Their second full-length "Dead Roots Stirring", was an amazing album, a Vinyl record that I have been hunting for sometime but not yet been able to obtain. With "Lore" have ELDER continued to developed and push their sound in more dynamic and inspiring directions. It's feels more clear, where the riff's have a more progressive approach and the focus is set to take the listener on a long exploration trip in the valley of psychedelic prog. They also have extended the tunes and peeled down on the vocals to let the melodies speak. The album have a excellent flow without getting to difficult and massive, which I really like. "Lore" is an album that sounds like the cover, just take a look on the stunning artwork made by Adrian Dexter, dream awayand you will seethe parable.

From the small town "Winthrop" in Massachusetts we find the metalcore dudes UNEARTH.

Todays tune "The Swarm" taken from the album "Watchers of Rule". The album is produced and mixed by Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER), this marks the band's six full length LP in their decorated sixteen year tenure. This markes the first album that does not feature long time bassist John Maggard, also the first album to feature Nick Pierce on drums. Guest on the album is Mark Morton from LAMB OF GOD.
