Wormwood - The Isolationist

Unlike other bands, WORMWOOD´s "Nattarvet" encompasses a wide spectrum of emotions.

It can be melancholy soundscapes with its screams of woe and somber guitars, it can be dreamlike and epic or unrelenting and vicious. "Nattarvet" blends genres like the changing of seasons, be it black metal, 80's rock, traditional Swedish folk and more. Follow a story throughout emptiness, isolation, hopelessness, wonder, and awe-inspiring nature. The album will travel through the world like a plague. Unrelenting, unstoppable and undeniably magnificent.

Formed in 2014, WORMWOOD have had quite the musical journey. Starting off as a black'n roll band, then turned into a melodic black metal band with folk and rock influences. Now, they have advanced to their true form, which is an unique take on Scandinavian black metal.

Lyrical themes goes from the vastness of the cosmos, northern lore, the hardships and famine of the Sweden 1800-hundreds.

Today's tune and the first single from the album was the magnific "The Isolationist" a tune about solitude. About a man who refuses to leave his home deep in the forest. His old wife dies, yet there he remains and withers away into obscurity.
