DragonForce - Cry Thunder

This band is an English power metal band and they are well know for the fast playing guitars and drums.  In April tis year they released their new album "The Power Within"

Herman Li says:
The last two years have been the most fun we ever had making an album. Through writing, jamming and touring together, we have built this incredible energy and it has been fully captured on the new album. This time around we’ve really brought our metal side to the surface and made some of the best music of our career. From the fastest song we’ve ever recorded to the slower songs, and some things you would never expect from us, this is by far the most diverse DragonForce album yet.” Li added, “This is an exciting new era for DragonForce with Marc joining the band, so we figured this was an ideal time to take full control of our own destiny and establish our own record label for Europe. It’s all hands on deck running it, but a great buzz!”

On the 16 October Dragonforce will come to the Stockholm venue Tyrol.
If you like Power Metal do come!

The members are :
Marc Hudson - Lead vocals
Herman Li - Guitar, backing vocals
Sam Totman - Guitar, backing vocals
Frédéric Leclercq - Bass, backing vocals
Vadim Pruzhanov - Keyboards, Theremin, backing vocals
Dave Mackintosh - Drums, backing vocals

Kent - 999

After the Opera at the Culture Festival, did the sail turn against Sjöhistoriska, where Kent would play. With a 4 trailer big production should share the outdoor stage, I felt a slightly crowded at first thought, but the stage swallowed everything with its gigantic maw.

Kent really has a wonderful touring crew, where Robban Roos holds the flag flying and steering the ship with an iron hand, techniques such as Brenge, Masse and Turbo makes the day floating on, a really nice trio who always share nice tour stories.

At the beginning of the concert at Sjöhistoriska intrudes Jocke Berg, Sami Sirviö, Martin Sköld and Markus Mustonen in a small rehearsal room, complete with idols of the three temporary and provisional walls, built up on the stage. It is clearly a very striking scenographic detail, a back-to-basics-setting that turns the usually large gestures.

Kent is perhaps one of Sweden's most natural arena rockpop band today, doing a show that is very stylish, good mix of their catalog where even the newer songs fits in as the classic Kent, such as "Music Non Stop" & "747" . The sound is really good, the light is gorgeous, Uffe has certainly got the right toys to work with, it is stylish and harmonious. To sum it all, a nice evening at Sjöhistoriska, though it was a dash of rain.

Kent is a Swedish alternative rock band founded in Eskilstuna in 1990, with the name Coca-Cola Kids, later Jones & Giftet, and Havsänglar. The band's logo is distinctive, using a lowercase "k" and the ITC Avant Garde Gothic Book typeface.

The band has had several big Swedish radio hits since the breakthrough single "Kräm (så nära får ingen gå)", from their second studio album. They are one of the most popular rock groups in Sweden, and describe themselves as "Sweden's biggest rock band", but are more or less unknown outside Scandinavia. Kent briefly attempted an international career with English versions of the albums Isola and Hagnesta Hill and an accompanying American tour for the former, but they gave up after failing to achieve the breakthrough they had hoped for.

Kent has released nine studio albums, sold over two million records and has won 20 Swedish Grammy Awards. "VinterNoll2" is an unlockable track in Career Mode on Guitar Hero World Tour. Kent recently got their own Singstar called SingStar Kent released on Play Station 2 and 3.

Richard Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries

I have fallen behind of reporting prevails's no doubt, just take a look on yesterday's post about Rockstad Falun that was about two weeks ago. But trying to work up a bit now ... hehe as you probably have noticed.

During the same period as Rockstad Falun, went the Stockholm Culture Festival, a festival that includes lots of culture, arts and of course music in every conceivable generes.

I was called in to work on stage was at Gustav Adolf Square, prepare for tonight's event, ie, the finale of the festival. Again the Swedish Royal Opera was the act for the finale of Stockholm Culture Festival by giving a grand concert. Royal Chapel, Royal Opera Choir and soloists offered a very different experience.

The Conductor was Stefan Klingele and performed todays tune "Richard Wagners Ride of the Valkyries"

The Ride of the Valkyries (German: Walkürenritt or Ritt der Walküren) is the popular term for the beginning of Act III of Die Walküre, the second of the four operas by Richard Wagner that comprise Der Ring des Nibelungen. The main theme of the Ride, the leitmotif labelled Walkürenritt, was first written down by the composer on 23 July 1851. The preliminary draft for the Ride was composed in 1854 as part of the composition of the entire opera, which was fully orchestrated by the end of the first quarter of 1856. Together with the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin, the Ride of the Valkyries is one of Wagner's best-known pieces. The tune is also included in the soundtrack album for the 2009 film Watchmen.

Opera orchestra, dating from 1526, is one of the oldest still existing orchestras in the world. Orchestra - who plays opera, ballet and concerts - is one of the largest orchestras with 107 members.

Dark Funeral - Goddess of Sodomy

Again, it was time for a little trip with Dark Funeral (DF), this time was the sights set on Falun and RockStad Falun where DF would headline the first festival day. The journey through Dalarna went excellent, nothing strange at all, almost too quietly, I must say. Once in place, it was time to set up and it did not go so well, it turned out that there was no place to make a pre-rig for the show, so we had to sneak in between the bands, which meant that it took lots of time to fix all. Too bad I did not have time to take a picture, then you would have realized how crowded it was.

DF lined up on a signing and the queue wriggled far, there after we had dinner at the hotel and then back to the area.

One of the DF's guests was none other than "Masse" (Emperor Magus Caligula) who was curious about the DF new lineup, which meant that both Zornheym & Nachtgarm was a bit nervous before the evening show, especially Nachtgarm which one can truly understand.

When it was time to get up on stage, a slightly delayed but well acceptable waiting for the audience. When the band comes into play , then they encounters a technical problem after the first notes, sad, really sad, but the problem is solved quickly and DF restart from the beginning, tough as hell for the band, not easy to create the magic after restarting, but DF is so experienced that it is barely noticeable that it had been a technical hassle. "Stigmata" is the first song out, is played in a brilliant way, even Masse who had sneaked up on stage did stomp his foot. Then they burn of songs like "atrum Regina", "Vobiscum Satanas", "Open The Gates", "Goddess Of Sodomy", "Hail Murder" among others. The band gave everything live, a concert filled with bombs and grenades, fire and sparklers to warm up a cold night in Falun. See full set list below.

Here are some pictures:

Todays tune "Goddess of Sodomy" taken from the third studio album "Diabolis Interium" (Latin for "devil within"), released on 24 September 2001.

Muse - The 2nd Law: Unsustainable

I like Skrillex, thats for sure,

But I found a band that changed a bit since I saw them in Stockholm couple of years ago. Muse..This tune is really good, remind me of Skrillex :D

In an interview with Billboard on 18 October 2011, the band's manager Anthony Addis revealed that Muse had begun recording their sixth album in London and that he expected it to be released by October 2012.  Bellamy jokingly described the album as a "christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, with some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia" on his Twitter account.

Opening track "Supremacy" will feature Led Zeppelin-esque guitar riffs as well as strings and will not focus on a particular structure, being more based in progressive rock. Bassist Chris Wolstenholme wrote two songs for the album – "Save Me" and "Liquid State" – about his battle with alcoholism, with him providing lead vocals on both tracks. In a recent interview Muse reported Nero is helping on the track "Follow Me".

Muse is:
Matthew Bellamy on lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, programming, production
Christopher Wolstenholme on bass, backing vocals, lead vocals on "Save Me" and "Liquid State", production
Dominic Howard on drums, synthesizers, programming, production

Re-Machined A tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head

2012 sees the 40th anniversary of the release of Deep Purple's landmark album "Machine Head".
And we at Tune Of The Day wanted to show you this 26 minutes long video, with all kinda muscians ;D

In recognition of Deep Purple's influence, and that of the "Machine Head" album in particular, some of rock music's biggest names have each contributed a version of their favourite track on the album to create "Re-Machined -- A Tribute To Deep Purple's Machine Head".

There are two wildly differing versions of the album's most famous track "Smoke On The Water", one from guitar hero Carlos Santana with vocals by Jacoby Shaddix and one from alternative rockers Flaming Lips, and Metallica have contributed their own special take on "When A Blind Man Cries", a track recorded at the "Machine Head" sessions but originally released by Deep Purple as the B-side to "Never Before". This is a truly unique release that will appeal to rock fans everywhere.

So, Ladys and Gents, Here is ALL KINDA TOP ARTISTS, with MACHINE HEAD album.
