Pantera - Cemetery Gates

Just when you've landed back home again after two weeks in Gothenburg you get snatched it up like a potato plant and thrown out on new adventures, have gone around like a migratory bird the past few days, will try to come up with a report as soon as I have time, like in september or something :) hmmm quite so long shouldn't it take , but someting will come soon, be patient.

Today I will not sink deep into something special, so today we say Happy Birthday to two birthday children, namely Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) today would have turned 63 years old and Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) would have turned 46 years old, Tune Of The Day says congratulations with a Pantera song.

Todays tune "Cemetery Gates" is a song taken from "Cowboys from Hell", the band's fifth album and second with lead singer Phil Anselmo (though the band considers it their first "true" album, officially ignoring their earlier independent releases as it was their first album with the groove metal genre). "Cemetery Gates" showcases Anselmo's vocal ability and range, concluding with screaming high notes answered by Dimebag Darrell on guitar in a trade off. The song is also Pantera's longest song ever recorded, clocking in at 7:03.
