Jamie Woon - Lady Luck

A little "before" Way Out West, more details about it tomorrow when the Tune Of The Day begins to follow the festival's construction. Today is travel day!

The first man in line: Jamie Woon a guy that could be compared to The Streets or why not with Massive Attack. He has taken the influential island (UK) by storm, and the world stands and sways in the wind. With a mix of dubstep, classic handmade and topped by the most crystal clear barrel since Phil Collins. With a mother who attempted to run such Jackson Browne and Kylie Minogue said he would have been a full-scale reference dictionary with him as late seasoned with Burial dirtiest deepest club sound.

Jamie Woon (born Jamie Finn, March 29, 1983) is a British singer, songwriter and producer signed to Polydor who gained widespread acclaim in 2010 for his single Night Air which was co-produced by Burial, following his previous independent release, Wayfaring Stranger EP.

The Eurasian son of a Malaysian Chinese father, and Scottish Irish mother (Celtic singer Mae McKenna), he was born and raised in New Malden in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Greater London. He describes his music as "... R&B, it's groove-based vocal-led music ...".

Woon's debut album is entitled Mirrorwriting and was released on 18 April 2011 via Polydor Records

He plays on Linné, Saturday 16:30

Todays tune "Lady Luck" is a song by British singer-songwriter Jamie Woon released as the second single from his debut album, Mirrorwriting. It's a a soulful track were his velvet, gossamer falsetto is laced with electronic jerks and twitches. Enjoy!
