Nickelback is a Canadian rock band from Hanna, Alberta, formed in 1995. Founded by members Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and then-drummer Brandon Kroeger. Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful Canadian groups, having sold 30 million records worldwide. Its name originates from the nickel in change that band member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job, he would frequently say, "Here's your nickel back". The band is signed to EMI in Canada and Roadrunner Records for the rest of the world. In July 2008, the band signed with Live Nation for three touring and album cycles, with an option for a fourth cycle. The contract includes recordings, touring, merchandise and other rights.
"Burn It to the Ground" is the fourth single (fifth single in Canada after I'd Come for You) released off Nickelback's sixth studio album Dark Horse. It is featured on the soundtrack for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and can be heard in the background during a party scene, in the film. On this ode to getting drunk, and "burning it to the ground," frontman Chad Kroeger sings about drinking "everything in sight." The song is a Def Leppard-style arena anthem, and one that Nickelback are currently performing on their Dark Horse World Tour, where Kroeger usually begins the song by saying "this song is the theme song of my life." And in the beginning of next year they will come to Europe for a few gigs and hopefully they will make a stop in Sweden.
Enjoy!
