From Gothenburg comes the band Graveyard that with their second release "Hisingen Blues" captured first place on my top 10 list of the best album of 2011 with a classic retro album, an album that really will live long. Really nice beats spiced with a passion for the musical. "Hisingen Blues" has been tossed around in the top layer during most of the year and rooted down really well. A worthy winner in my book.
Pressure & Time is this year's verve, a refreshing breeze of classic blues infused rock. A very impressive release. This is an album you must own if you have a love for the roots of the musical history we have inherited.

Mastodon leave their progressive concept thinking with the latest release "The Hunter" and does a little more straightforward album. A record that works at any time since the album is easier, more fun and filled with joy.

"Unto The Locust" is a album that contains almost everything and executed in a brilliant way. Their new musical path is a wise choice, the best thing they've done and actually managed to combine a highly effective record.. An impressive sequel to "The Blackening"

A record that has really rooted in my ear. A beautiful rainbow-story with a wonderful retro splash. Really nice cover that shows the indications that psych rock is at the center of this work. Is warmly recommended. Imagine if you could get this on vinyl!
"Arrows & Anchors" is indeed a dramatic and somewhat profound works with numerous throws from the one to the second element, that it is impossible to separate them at all, but everything falls so naturally in place in the end without that it will be strange or odd in any way.

Arizona's new heroes VECTOR made me fall off the chair with its predecessor "Black Future". A unique blend of Technical Thrash and Speed in which progressive clouds welling up as a liniment for the rough carpet of verbal primal scream, coils of jazz fusion that just strokes the cheek.
David DiSanto's voice is unique, an incredible intensity, can not recall that I have ever heard anything like this before and it is fantastic and fits in perfectly.
This is the most stand-out group the Thrash Metal scene right now!
Today's tune "Cosmic Cortex" is the opening track on the album, fasten your seatbelts, here we go!
The year's biggest question mark, with several turns on the recordplayer have the album finally started to sink in. A progressive story that Mr. Åkerfeldt wants to share with listeners, it is a calm and sensible, beautiful and historical album.
A record that really required a lot of playing time, before I understood what they wanted to convey.

I didnt think they would or could make even better album, but this is a giant! The riffs, the heavy groove that I just love! A taste of psycadelic doesnt make it worse :)
The album is their fifth studio album and was released in September 2011, in an interview with MTV Germany, it was revealed that the new album will be called The Hunter in honor of Brent Hinds's brother who unexpectedly passed away while hunting during the making of the album. Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep, drummer Brann Dailor described the new material as not so much proggy as riff-oriented and "a little more stripped down," akin to that of Leviathan (2004) and "like a really super-heavy Led Zeppelin or something." Asked if Brent Hinds is again responsible for most of the initial songwriting", Dailor replied, "I think it's a little more collaborative, with everyone chipping in."
Dutch band THE DEVIL'S BLOOD caught me already at the previous album "The Time Of No Time Evermore". As before have the band a pleasant approach in their song writing and creates their own occult identities with a deep sense of purpose.
