JIRM - Candle Eyes

The Swedish heavy psych rockers JIRM (Jeremy Irons and the Ratgang Malibus) grabbed the 33rd place with their very powerful and groovy album "Surge Ex Monumentis".

JIRM music is a great mix of psychedelic rock, progressive stoner, classic rock and elements from the 70's makes "Surge Ex Monumentis" a highly enjoyable.

Today's tune "Candle Eyes" is a beautiful melodic riffy piece taken from the album "Surge Ex Monumentis", release on March 16, 2018 at Small Stone Records.

Jeremy Irons & The Ratgang Malibus - Skin Deep

 

A few days ago, a friend and I was looking into a performance by Jeremy Irons & The Ratgang Malibus, here in Stockholm at Scandic Grand Central. A band that was a bit more stripped down than usual and played with a slightly calmer tempo than what they normally do. But must say I was heavily surprised that it could sound so amazingly good, incredibly talented musicians and the singer has a pipe that you really get goose skin of, shit pommes!

Now I want to see and hear them run a full electric set!

of the best Albums - 2011

A record that has really rooted in my ear. A beautiful rainbow-story with a wonderful retro splash. Really nice cover that shows the indications that psych rock is at the center of this work. Is warmly recommended. Imagine if you could get this on vinyl!

Swedish Jeremy Irons & The Ratgang Malibus plays a soulful smart rock slightly spiced by an occasional pharmaceuticals. This is music with a retro approach that takes its listeners on exciting excursions deep into the mind. The new album "Bloom" is filled with a massive use of sweeping passages of dripping wet guitars that shake and tremble well into the morning, song dressed in an oceanic reverb that pours through the panting rock and roll, melodies that move in cycles and works that have a run time of more than nine minutes. The musical references are early Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath, the psychedelic parts of Led Zeppelin, the simplicity of Rolling Stone, you will have a fine blend of bloom.

Whoever value 70s progressive rock will surely be fond of this album.
