Iron Maiden - Prodigal Son

The weeks just flying away, then it once again got to be a Sunday and a time for us to present a classic.

Today's song is taken from the British heavy metal band "Iron Maiden's" second album "Killers", it's also the first Maiden album I bought. The album was released on 2 February 1981. The album was their first with guitarist Adrian Smith and their last with vocalist Paul Di'Anno, who was sacked after problems with his stage performance arose due to his alcohol and cocaine use. This was also the first Iron Maiden album made with veteran producer Martin Birch, who went on to produce their next eight albums before retiring after Fear of the Dark in 1992.

Todays tune is the relatively long "Prodigal Son", s the song that really stands out on record, can say that this choice of song would not been back in the time :) Would have chosen someone with some speed in. This tune has lighter mood than many of the other songs on this album, but still has the Iron Maiden sound in the ground. The lyrics is a bit strange, but looks like they have something to say, Paul delivers them very well.

The lineup on this record:

Paul Di'Anno – vocals
Dave Murray – guitar
Adrian Smith – guitar, backing vocals
Steve Harris – bass guitar, backing vocals
Clive Burr – drums

Didn't find any good clip on this tune, sorry.
