If we continue in the Neo-Psychedelia and Space Rock and offers the South East London’s favourite psychedelic darlings, BLACK MARKET KARMA that with fifth studio album "Upside Out Inside Down". A swirling album with a great portion of sixties psychedelia and garage rock.
As the band’s vocalist and songwriter "Stan" says. “Our sound is mainly created with guitars, organs, synthesisers, drums, percussion and Indian instruments such as the sitar and harmonium. We do, however, use many other sounds in different places throughout our music”.
Today's tune "Heady Ideas", taken from the album "Upside Out Inside Down". Enjoy!

"Nothing As The Ideal" is the sixth full-length studio release for the Nashville psychedelic-rock band ALL THEM WITCHES, the album was recorded at Abbey Road with producer Mikey Allred.
"Nothing As The Ideal" is only forty-three minutes long, divided over eight track and is the band’s shortest album to date. As the band recently becoming a power trio after five albums as a quartet one could imagine that this album would sound diffrent, specially on the dynamic level, but for the most part the overall sound is pretty similar as the previous releases. It's full of blues-inflected heavy psych rock and americana that have gotten to be thier signature mix. The album has a very aggressive approch, if you compre to the precursor release, this is apparently noticeable in the gtoovy and more aggressive heavy rock tunes "Enemy Of My Enemy" and "Lights Out", with this they still prooves that can offers some new creative things and gives us as a listner a great variety of the bands composing, take the more moodier and psycadelic offer "See You Next Fall", near to ten-minutes of deep mysterious vibes, to the meandering jams like "Saturnine & Iron Jaw" to cool down with the ballad "Everest" or the marvelous americana piece "The Children Of Coyote Woman", the bass heavy "41" that have a post-metal feeling and some heavy riffing, shows another side of the band. The powerful stripped-down "Rats In Ruin" closes the album, slow and dark begining until the very end when it changes direction to a wonderful jam.
"Nothing As The Ideal" is an excellent release from these guys and still after a handful of turns, I rejoice in their work.
Sum: "Nothing As The Ideal" is a surprising and delightful release.
The band consists of:
Drummer Robby Staebler,
Vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Charles Michael Parks Jr.,
Guitarist Ben McLeod.
Today's tune "The Children Of Coyote Woman", taken from "Nothing As The Ideal", released September 4th. "'The Children of Coyote Woman' is a retelling of the founding of Rome through a southern perspective," ATW frontman Charles Michael Parks Jr. tells us. "Two brothers fight to see who will control the region after the passing of their mother, a woman so fierce and legendary that people would rather leave their homes than get in her way. Though powerful, though fierce, their lives exist in a minuscule blip in the universe and are still tied to the struggles and hardships of trying to survive in the poor rural south.
"In my mind, there are a lot of similarities between the Roman empire and the USA. The same essence of power and ingenuity, as well as it's brutal conquests for resources. The founding fathers undoubtedly studied the reign of the Caesars and chose it as a model for their new republic."
From the United Kingdom we find the Neo-Psychedelia Post-Rockers CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX started in 2004 when the multi-instrumentalist Justin Greaves (formerly the drummer of IRON MONKEY, ELECTRIC WIZARD, TEETH OF LIONS RULE THE DIVINE, THE VARUKERS, etc..) picked up a borrowed guitar and began to make simple demos. 11 years, 7 critically acclaimed albums and quite a few line-up changes later Crippled Black Phoenix is a force to reckoned with.
Several musicians have contributed to CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIXs albums and played with them during their live shows.
They do not fit in to any easily found musical category, instead they blaze their own trail using the influences and knowledge gained over a lifetime of playing and performing.
Current members:
Justin Greaves – electric guitar, drums, saw, keyboard, acoustic guitar, banjo, effects, samples
Daniel Änghede - Vocals, electric guitar
Mark Furnevall – synthesizer, keyboards, backing vocals
Ben Wilsker – drums
Daisy Chapman - Piano, Vocals
Todays tune "Laying Traps" is taken from the fifth album (Mankind) The Crafty Ape, released January 30, 2012. The thematic focus for this album is firmly planted in the corruption of mankind and injustice, but also ultimately in the hope that all is not lost, and that there's a common thread connecting people of like-minds wherever you may travel. The music and themes have been created as to represent the world inside and outside of the mind, with no compromise.
On (Mankind) The Crafty Ape the band showcases a new level of focus, and that's not to say there was a lack of focus on previous efforts, it simply says that the methods and attitude in making the new album are another move toward finding the total uncompromised potential within the music.
The other day I ran into a band with the right peculiar band name "The Dolly Rocker Movement", the band is based in Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2002 by singer and guitarist Daniel Poulter, the Australian line-up includes Poulter, Ricky Drabsch (bass), Martin Walters (keyboards) and Christopher Rudge (drums). "The Dolly Rocker Movement" is a rock band with a T-Rex inspired neo-psychedelic pop touch spiced with true influence of late 60's garage/psychedelia, freakbeat & west coast folk. Kinda cool, must i say. The group has released three full-length albums through independent Australian record label Off the Hip.
The group has played with such acts as The Black Keys, The Lime Spiders, The Stems and The Lovetones. The band has had material showcased outside of Australia on various releases, including Northern Star Records’ three Psychedelica compilations, and the Greek Peace Frog and Lost in Tyme zines. In 2009 Denmark-based label Bad Afro announced it would release their third album, Our Days Mind the Tyme, in all non-Australian territories. That's the album were we are going to pick todays tune from.
In late 2009, Poulter travelled to Los Angeles to start demo recording new solo and band material with producer Rob Campanella. There, the band was reformed to include Poulter, Jimmy Sweet (formerly bassist of Hot Hot Heat), Emily Stoia (keyboards), and T.J. McDonnell (drums).
As of 2012, the band has announced its intention to record new material in Australia.
And yes, you can find this beauty printed on Vinyl!
Todays tune "The Only One" is taken from "Our Days Mind the Tyme" Release in 2009.
This band visited Stockholm Sweden at Debaser Medis last week. Apearently they were quite popular, (i never heard about em) Debaser was full this evening and the audience was singing along and seemed to like it.
I took some pics from the gig, here they are.
The vocal guy, Marc Foster had a terrible cold, coughing back stage, Really good that they went through this gig with this, they are not like certain other artists that cancelled a full arena..cough cough no name said.
Foster the people is a indie band from the States plays sorta atmospheric, psychedelic, and dance-oriented pop, they started up in 2009. Foster was struggelin around doing commercial jingles and then he started up the band and had a break through with this tune, Pumped Up Kicks in 2010. In May 2011 they released the debut album "Torches".
