Engel - Salvation

“Raven Kings”, the highly anticipated forth album of Swedish melodic death metallers ENGEL. it was released yesterday November 26:th. The album is produced by the bands founders Marcus Sunesson and Niclas Engelin and is mixed by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat). To celebrate the release, the band has just premiered the first video and todays tune “Salvation”, taken from “Raven Kings”, watch it below.

The guys recorded its fourth album "Raven Kings" in Creahate Studios in mid-2014.

Guitarist Marcus Sunesson commented on the video: “The ground crumbles, the skies darken and the hills shake as the last music on earth is heard from a mountain top. Four dark figures, still standing. Sounds that paint a fitting masterpiece to accompany the elemental chaos. There is no Sanctuary from the apocalypse, no Salvation. And yet, that is precisely what they offer. Speaking not of good or evil, instead they offer stark reality”.

ENGEL lineup 2014:

Marcus Sunesson (THE CROWN) - Guitar
Niclas Engelin (IN FLAMES, DRÖMRIKET, PASSENGER, GARDENIAN) - Guitar
Mikael Sehlin (DEGRADEAD) - Vocals

In Flames - Fear Is The Weakness

Number 1, In Flames, Of Course!!!!

Today there isnt any other album that fully fill my needs in the music world.
Stones and I are going to see them at the club concert they are doing :D
Thats gonna be soo awesome.

This new album "Sounds Of A Playground Fading" is diffrent in many ways, one of em is that Jesper is not there, but they have another great guitarrist there, Niclas Engelin. Niclas is with In Flames now, at the same time he is in Engel, a band thats really great as well. In Flames Album has many highlights, this tune is one of em.

Enjoy!

In Flames - Where The Dead Ships Dwell

My Moment at Sonisphere was In Flames!
I got goose bumps, I sang, I couldnt stand still, I laughed, I screamed (so noone saw it, haha)

Here I stand in the middle of seated people in red.

They were really good, the singer Anders is a great audience man. As he is from Gothenburg and we in Stockholm feel somehow threatened by that city and vice versa, there were some jokes were made about it :D He also told all that go and buy the new album and today in arrived in our mailbox :D LOOOOVE IT!!

Stones were out there and took some pics for me :D

This was In Flames first gig in Sweden after releasing the new album and it sounded darn good, much better than from the album, some band have so much "help" on the album so the live act sounds worse but this wasent the matter in this case. It helped me to LOVE some tunes that I didnt feel that much for b4.

What im trying to point out here is that IT WAS FUCKING GREAT GIG!!!!!!!

For you that dont know so much of In Flames Ill tell you some.

In Flames, along with Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, pioneered what is now known as melodic death metal. The founding members of all three bands all lived in Gothenburg, Sweden and they were all friends who shared the same musical interests. Eventually, that group of friends branched off into three bands with the same musical direction, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and At the Gates all goodies.

Jesper Strömblad formed In Flames to write music that combined the melodic guitar style of Iron Maiden with the brutality of death metal, something which Jesper stated he had never heard any band do. In writing songs, Jesper also decided to make use of keyboards, something which was (at the time) uncommon in death metal. Ever since In Flames' debut studio album, Lunar Strain, the band has made use of keyboards, although other extreme metal bands such as Cradle of Filth had been using keyboards years before them. Despite their sometimes heavy use of keyboards in their music, they still refuse to recruit a full-time keyboardist.

Jesper has now left In Flames and a former guitarist Niclas Engelin came back instead, I do like Niclas although I love Jesper and what he done for In Flames I wish him a great future :D

Here is a pic on the backstage of Apollo stage.

Okey, Ladys and Gents, here´s, In Flames!

Love, Thetania

In Flames - Deliver Us

This is In Flames new singel from their forthcoming album

”Sounds Of A Playground Fading”.
In Flames have done 10 studio albums since 1994 and the 9th album with Anders on vocals and their first without Jesper Strömblad.
Their old guitarist Niclas Engelin is back, but his band Engel is still on going.

Its gonna be exiting how they sounds like without Jesper,
cos he brought a lot to that band.
As I told u before Jesper is in the band Dimension Zero & The Resistance now.

According to Anders, this album will feature increasingly wide vocal registers and reduced screams and growls.
In addition, some of the album's songs "pretty much go against the hard rock formula.”
Sounds of a Playground Fading is the band's longest album to date. Niclas isnt playing on this Album though.
Roberto Laghi is the producer of the album.

Their current members are
Anders Friden (1995-present) - vocals
Björn Gelotte (1995-present) - guitar, drums (1995-1998)
Niclas Engelin (1997-1998, 2011-present)* - guitar
Peter Iwers (1997-present) - bass
Daniel Svensson (1998-present) - drums

Lets Hear them!

Cheers, Thetania
