The French monster "Gojira" took a turn on the record player over the weekend. During these spins did I browse through the art that Mario Duplantier creates, truly amazing stuff that can be found.

The music suits art creation well as these dudes knows how to get you going, with the power full heavy riffs that grabs you around the balls and shake you until you loose the control of time.

Gojira - Born In Winter

Born In Winter is a new video, released by Gojira, taken from the latest album "L'Enfant Sauvage". An album that is inspired by François Truffaut's film of the same name which tells the true story of Victor of Aveyron, a child who was found alone in the woods with behaviors closer to a wild animal than a civilized human.

Frontman, guitarist and songwriter Joe Duplantier talks about the meaning of the album by saying, “When you become a musician, you don’t have a boss telling you what to do so you have to be very responsible.” He goes on to say “With freedom comes responsibility, so I’m asking myself, ‘What is freedom? What does it mean to me?’ L’Enfant Sauvage reflects on that. There’s no answer though. There’s just life and questions.”

Gojira is a French metal band from Ondres, close to Bayonne in the South West of France. Formed in 1996, the band was known as Godzilla until 2001. Gojira is composed of Joe Duplantier on vocals and rhythm guitar, his brother Mario Duplantier on drums, Christian Andreu on lead guitar, and Jean-Michel Labadie on bass. Gojira has written five studio albums and produced three live DVDs.

Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage

L'Enfant Sauvage is the title of the upcoming fifth album release by Gojira, the album is also their Roadrunner Records debut. The title translates to "The Wild Child." The album features 11 tracks, and is scheduled to land at retail on June 26.

Frontman, guitarist and songwriter Joe Duplantier talks about the meaning of the upcoming album by saying, “When you become a musician, you don’t have a boss telling you what to do so you have to be very responsible.”

He goes on to say “With freedom comes responsibility, so I’m asking myself, ‘What is freedom? What does it mean to me?’ L’Enfant Sauvage reflects on that. There’s no answer though. There’s just life and questions.” In support of the album, Gojira will embark on a North American tour alongside Dethklok and Lamb of God, starting on August 1, 2012.

Gojira is a progressive metal band formed in 1996 in Bayonne, France. The band was known as Godzilla until 2001. Gojira is composed of Joe Duplantier on vocals and rhythm guitar, his brother Mario Duplantier on drums, Christian Andreu on lead guitar and Jean-Michel Labadie on bass. Since its first studio album, Gojira has had no changes in lineup, and has released four studio albums, one live album, one single, and one DVD. Their new EP will be released in 2011.

Gojira, known for their environmentally-themed lyrics, "have risen from utmost obscurity during the first half of their career to widespread global recognition in the second, including regular mention amongst the genre's leading new millennium upstarts", according to Allmusic.

On April 4, 2012, L'Enfant Sauvage was announced as the title of their Roadrunner Records debut. The title translates to "The Wild Child."
