Whitesnake - Shut Up & Kiss Me

Fresh off celebrating their 40th anniversary, rock legends WHITESNAKE return with their latest studio album, "Flesh & Blood". This album follows the 2011 critically acclaimed studio album "Forevermore" and 2015’s "The Purple Album", a reimagining of DEEP PURPLE classics from WHITESNAKE mastermind’s David Coverdale’s time in that band. The 13 original, visceral tracks on “Flesh & Blood”, the band’s 13th studio album, are luckily for you dear reader, “all killer, no filler”, as the saying goes.

But would you expect anything less from the ’Snakes?

David Coverdale, the mastermind behind WHITESNAKE & co-composer of 'Shut Up & Kiss Me' with guitarist Reb Beach, commenting on the forthcoming release said "that after the intense darkness of our last video BURN If anything, it’s ‘light’ snake, you know? We’ve got some really dark energy going on in the world right now, so we’re gonna write & record a fun, knees up, a song about falling in love with a fabulous babe. You’re over-talking, over-compensating & she just looks at you, takes the reins & says, 'Shut Up and Kiss Me!' and that’s it!!

My video director and creative partner Tyler Bourns and I discussed a great storyline for the video, which involves a surprise guest: my fabulous old white Jaguar. We ended up cleaning and detailing it, as it has been in storage since I moved to Lake Tahoe, then we dusted off my old turquoise silk jacket from the original ‘Here I Go Again’ video and I was thinking, "man, this is going to be fun!" It’s a respectful acknowledgment and positive nod to the past, just fun stuff.”

Joining Coverdale on Flesh & Blood is the powerhouse band comprised of Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Michael Devin on bass, Tommy Aldridge on drums, and Michele Luppi on keyboards.

The current incarnation of the band carries on the long and unwavering tradition of main man David Coverdale being surrounded by cream of the crop players who go all in to bring fans the best hard rock humanly possible. 40+ years into their existence, the ‘Snakes fangs have only grown sharper and are ready to inject fans with more of that rock ‘n roll venom they crave.

Gotthard - Stay With Me

The Swiss hard rock band GOTTHARD released their twelfth studio album "Silver" on 13 January 2017 through G Records. The album was intended to celebrate the band's 25th anniversary, and its name is a reference to a silver wedding anniversary. The album produced one single, "Stay With Me", released on 18 November 2016, a big and powerful tune, delivers a sophisticated rock explosion and hits the sweet spot between half ballad and monumental hymn, see it below.

GOTTHARD is a Swiss hard rock band founded in Lugano by Steve Lee and Leo Leoni. Their last eleven albums have all reached number 1 in the Swiss album charts, making them one of the most successful Swiss acts ever. Singer Steve Lee died in a motorcycle accident on October 5, 2010.

On November 11, 2011, Gotthard announced a new singer, Nic Maeder, through their official Facebook page and their website with their new song "Remember It's Me"

Whitesnake - Mistreated

The story of David Coverdale, the lead singer and founder of WHITESNAKE - is an interesting one in rock and roll terms, if for no other reason that he has an admirable track record of having the courage of his convictions. After he had shot to fame in 1974 as the lead singer of hard rock legends of DEEP PURPLE, things didn’t pan out quite as he would have hoped, with 1975 record "Come Taste the Band" failing to match up to expectations. He resigned as the band dissolved, and after releasing one solo album, WHITESNAKE, in 1977, knew that he needed to be in a band if he was to truly flourish. WHITESNAKE was born, and they’re still going strong today.

The Sound the band had was very similar to DEEP PURPLE, bluesy and rockish. Since reforming in 2002 and two albums "Good to Be Bad" and "Forevermore" plus the latest "The Purple Album" with DEEP PURPLE tunes in a WHITESNAKE package they are touring around the world with DEF LEPPARD and last year with JOURNEY and THUNDER. Today (Friday the 13th) they are standing on the stage here in Stockholm for a show at hovet.

Today's tune "Mistreated" is take from the latest album "The Purple Album" and it's performed at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL on August 3, 2015. Recorded with a Nikon P7000. "Mistreated" is originally taken from DEEP PURPLEs 1974 album "Burn". The song was written by the band's guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and new vocalist David Coverdale, who, along with new bassist Glenn Hughes, brought new blues and funk elements to the band.

Coverdale/Page - Take Me For A Little While

Time for another DUO, but today we leave the term "Power DUO" and play a Rock DUO instead, do you remember the difference between them? Well todays DUO is where two men are combining their experience and create something that sounds like both worlds, really good actually.

We hear Whitesnake but in a light Led Zeppelin touch. The sound of this album was the John Bonham-influenced and former Montrose drummer Denny Carmassi.

Coverdale/Page was a musical collaboration featuring Whitesnake and former Deep Purple, Whitesnake lead vocalist David Coverdale, and former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

The project between the two artists commenced in 1991 at the suggestion of American A&R executive John Kalodner, as both artists were signed to Geffen Records at the time in North America. Their debut album, Coverdale/Page was released on 15 March 1993, reaching No. 4 in the UK and No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Five singles were released to promote the album: "Pride and Joy", "Shake My Tree", "Take Me for a Little While", "Take a Look at Yourself" and "Over Now".

It has been rumoured that Page collaborated with Coverdale in order to irk Page's former Led Zeppelin bandmate Robert Plant, who up to that point had been reluctant to reunite with Page. In interviews at the time, Plant expressed some derision at the guitarist's collaboration with Coverdale.

An American arena tour was planned for the summer of 1993, but after sluggish ticket sales the tour was scrapped in favour of a series of concerts in Japan, after which the partnership was dissolved. Page subsequently teamed up with Plant for an "UnLedded" MTV project and Coverdale returned to Whitesnake.

According to David Coverdale, the traffic sign shown on the cover of the album signified "two roads joining to one road. Try to express unification or joining together."
