Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes - The Wanton Song

January 9th 2021, it's the birth day of James Patrick Page "Jimmy Page", the English musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band LED ZEPPELIN.

So for his 77th birthday with a clip of a tune with Jimmy Page & THE BLACK CROWES.

In October 1999, Page teamed up with the CROWES for a two-night performance of material from the LED ZEPPELIN catalogue and old blues and rock standards.

Live at the Greek: Excess All Areas is a double live album by Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes, released by musicmaker.com on 29 February 2000 and reissued by TVT Records on 4 July 2000.

Contractual problems with their record company prevented the CROWES issuing any of their own songs played at the Greek shows. Also featuring Page with the band, these included "Wiser Time", "No Speak No Slave", "Remedy", and "Hard to Handle".

The double CD released in 2000 featured a different running order, an extra song, an enhanced QuickTime video and photographs taken during the concert. The Japanese version of the album adds "Misty Mountain Hop" and "In the Light", recorded in 2000.

Bassist Sven Pipien, who was fired between the two different releases of the album, was airbrushed out of the group shot that features in the centrefold of the TVT Records version and all subsequent vinyl reissues. The original image appears on the musicmaker.com CD and can also be seen on a Jimmy Page blog.

Today's tune "The Wanton Song" was not included on the album but was performed live as the opening tune and also performed live at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on August 14th, 2000. The tune was is orgninaly taken from their sixth studio album, 1975's "Physical Graffiti". It was developed from a jam session during rehearsals. Enjoy and happy birthday Jimmy

Coverdale/Page - Take Me For A Little While

Time for another DUO, but today we leave the term "Power DUO" and play a Rock DUO instead, do you remember the difference between them? Well todays DUO is where two men are combining their experience and create something that sounds like both worlds, really good actually.

We hear Whitesnake but in a light Led Zeppelin touch. The sound of this album was the John Bonham-influenced and former Montrose drummer Denny Carmassi.

Coverdale/Page was a musical collaboration featuring Whitesnake and former Deep Purple, Whitesnake lead vocalist David Coverdale, and former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

The project between the two artists commenced in 1991 at the suggestion of American A&R executive John Kalodner, as both artists were signed to Geffen Records at the time in North America. Their debut album, Coverdale/Page was released on 15 March 1993, reaching No. 4 in the UK and No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Five singles were released to promote the album: "Pride and Joy", "Shake My Tree", "Take Me for a Little While", "Take a Look at Yourself" and "Over Now".

It has been rumoured that Page collaborated with Coverdale in order to irk Page's former Led Zeppelin bandmate Robert Plant, who up to that point had been reluctant to reunite with Page. In interviews at the time, Plant expressed some derision at the guitarist's collaboration with Coverdale.

An American arena tour was planned for the summer of 1993, but after sluggish ticket sales the tour was scrapped in favour of a series of concerts in Japan, after which the partnership was dissolved. Page subsequently teamed up with Plant for an "UnLedded" MTV project and Coverdale returned to Whitesnake.

According to David Coverdale, the traffic sign shown on the cover of the album signified "two roads joining to one road. Try to express unification or joining together."

Todays tune ”Take Me For A Little While” is taken from the self titled album "Coverdale/Page", released by Geffen Records on 15 March 1993.

Eric Clapton - My Father's Eyes

Eric Clapton visited Stockholm on Wednesday in the Globe.
Claptonhas been out on this tour since january this year,
the dates that are left is:

A friend asked me if he was old and tired....NAH not a bit.
The man had grown longer hair and still have that bright look in his eyes, and did still have the same finger fastness as he always had. Clapton had some seated tunes mixed with faster standing onces. A perfect mix! The audience was really mixed in the ages and all of em seemed to have a ball!

This man devoted to the blues, and he play and sings like a god!
Clapton was influenced by the blues from an early age and practiced long hours to learn chords of blues music he listened to, playing along to the records.
He preserved his practice sessions using his portable Grundig reel-to-reel tape recorder, listening to them over and over until he felt he'd got it right.
Clapton cites Freddie King, B.B. King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, and Hubert Sumlin as guitar playing influence.



When he was younger his friends was all kinda familiar dudes, sutch as Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, George Harrison etc.

Clapton´s Stage Manager Michael, is a fantastic 63 year old man that been in the business since 1963 and been with Clapton since 1984 I think it was. Michael or Mikie that the others called him, had full control over what happended on his stage and when and all the dudes around him, loved to see him swinging his magic touch over the arena.
