Nervosa - Perpetual Chaos

Tuesday, yesterday it was suppose to be the regular post with "Record Of The Week" and the celebration of the International Women's Day and for us at Tune Of The Day is the Women's Week. But we were interrupted by the terrible news about LG so we decided to move everything one day.

So now the focus are on the Woman's. I think it is important to highlight the females, so we dedicate the whole week to important and talented female abilities. And in the usual order we present the "Record Of The Week" today, a band where the slightly tougher and harder sound that has to break ground, a band that I am next convinced have met at LG on a festival around the world.

The São Paulo thrash metal powerhouse NERVOSA attacks with inexorable full femme power, leaving the world in "Perpetual Chaos". The newly staffed quartet showcases their ability for impetuously feral, pungently sharp riffs and aggressive vocals on 13 massive tracks. The founding member and guitarist Prika Amaral has re-built the band following 2018’s "Downfall Of Mankind". The new line up featuring the talented new members Diva Satanica (BLOODHUNTER) on vocals, Mia Wallace (ABBATH) on bass and Eleni Nota on drums delivers a massive punch of thrash spliced with remarkable death metal assaults. The new line up really have injected the creation with something else than the vaccine, here you will get a adrenaline-packed journey which pulls you by the hair and throws you into the wall.

The vocals from Diva Satanica is freaking powerful and boost the band massive, what a recruit. The bass licks are heavy, a bit anonmys in the mix and the drums are furious and blisteringly fast along with Amaral’s frenetic and brawl-brushed guitar riffings. The basic ground of the band is still intact, but the sound is a bit boosted by the new members and sounds really fresh and more polished in the creation. The fans will not be disappointed, rather the opposite.

Their fourth full-length album, "Perpetual Chaos", builds upon the turbulence, adding diverse musical elements to create an infallible new standout. Guided by a marvelous force of uncompromising thrash and death metal, their raw power has its finger on the pulse of time: lyrically, the four piece does not hesitate to tackle issues that impact the very core of society as we know it. From political grievances and amplifying the voices of minorities to protesting against factory farming, capitalism and succumbing to the ill-informed musings of social elites, these commanding women do not mince words.

Tunes like the lead single and the airtight opener "Venomous" rices the bar on the level the album will follow on, the fast-twitching "Until The Very End" featuring some extra riffing by Guilherme Miranda (ENTOMBED AD, KROW) and "Time To Fight" where their outrage over Brazil during the pandemic is the main theme. On the Slayeresque "Genocidal Command" is featuring German thrash icon Schmier, co-founder of DESTRUCTION. On the tune "Kings Of Domination" where the subject is farming industry and human greed. On the tune "Rebel Soul", featuring FLOTSAM AND JETSAM’s vocalist Eric "Ak" Knutson that gives the tune some classic hardrock vibe. "Until the Very End". Already here they prove that NERVOSA’s revitalized identity experiments with both fresh new elements and crucial auditory foundations without succumbing to any clichés.

All-female Thrash/Death frontrunners NERVOSA stay true to their roots while exploring new terrain on "Perpetual Chaos" On "Perpetual Chaos", the girls has once again joins forces with producer Martin Furia, recognized for producing "Downfall Of Mankind", in addition to working with EVIL INVADERS, SISTERS OF SUFFOCATION, DESTRUCTION, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM. The album was released January 22, 2021 via Napalm Records

Sum: This female quartet delivers a furious onslaught "Perpetual Chaos"
