Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine?

"R U Mine?" is a song by the English indie rock band ARCTIC MONKEYS. The song was released as a digital download in the United Kingdom on 27 February 2012 and was released physically for the Record Store Day on 21 April 2012 on a limited edition double A-side purple 7" vinyl along with new song "Electricity". The vinyl was limited to a run of only 1750 copies.

"R U Mine?" debuted at number twenty-three on the UK Singles Chart; the band's highest charting single since "Crying Lightning" reached number twelve in July 2009. Despite originally being released as a standalone single, the song was later included on their fifth studio album, AM, in a slightly different version.

The song was also featured in the video games Forza Horizon and Rocksmith 2014. It was released as a downloadable song for the rhythm game Rock Band 3 on January 13, 2015; one of the first three downloadable songs released for Rock Band 3 in almost two years.

Alex Turner said that the band drew inspiration from Drake and Lil Wayne, saying "There's a few references for people to pick up on in there – 'Some Velvet Morning', Tracy Island. Those references are just me being a smartarse...That particular bit is like the thing Lil Wayne and Drake do. We've been listening to a lot of their stuff recently. I like that thing they do where they talk about something backwards, so they talk about it but then say what it actually is on the next line. It's hard to explain but I guess it's a little nod to that idea. So I say, 'I'm a puppet on a string', just before mentioning Tracy Island. That's what it's about – uncertainty."

ARCTIC MONKEYS formed in 2002 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield. The band consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, lead guitar), Jamie Cook (lead guitar, rhythm guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass, backing vocals), and Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals). Former band member Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) left the band in 2006 shortly after its debut album was released.

They have released five studio albums: Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006), Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Humbug (2009), Suck It and See (2011) and AM (2013), as well as one live album, At the Apollo (2008). Their debut album is the fastest-selling debut album by a band in British chart history, and in 2013, Rolling Stone ranked it the 30th greatest debut album of all time.

The band have won seven Brit Awards—winning both Best British Group and Best British Album three times, and have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. They also won the Mercury Prize in 2006 for their debut album, in addition to receiving nominations in 2007 and 2013. The band have headlined at the Glastonbury Festival twice, in 2007 and again in 2013.

ARCTIC MONKEYS were heralded as one of the first bands to come to public attention via the Internet (through fan-based sites rather than from the band), with commentators suggesting they represented the possibility of a change in the way in which new bands are promoted and marketed.

Today's tune "R U Mine?" is taken from ARCTIC MONKEYS fifth studio album, "AM". This is the official video!
