Volbeat - The Mirror And The Ripper

Volbeat the Danish rock band whose last album Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood from 2008 became a top seller in all of Scandinavia. Last time Volbeat toured in Sweden, the tickets were sold out in record time and so it did again when they was playing at Hovet yesterday. An upgraded Arena (Arenan Fryshuset) did not help, will it be the Globe next time?

This time, it was Volbeat with a big bang, consisting of no less than the biggest live production they've ever toured with, a handful of new songs, a bunch of classics and a huge hunger to play live for its thousands of European fans.

The support bands on this tour is "Entombed" and "The Kandidates". LG Petrov (Entombed) did get put on the dresses on Napalm Death's Mark "Barney" Greenway of the main band's rough bark death hit song "Evelyn" from latest album "Beyond Hell / Heaven Above". Witch was a really successful move to do.

During the show did Michael Poulsen say that he was really proud that his band Volbeat recently pushed Robyn from the top position on the Swedish album chart. He handed out a big thank you for the recently gold record award that the band got. He also gave the Swedish death metal bands a big high five, bands like Entombed, Unleashed among others.

The overview of the show was in my eyes and ears very good, they did a terrific show.

Here is some pictures, before, during and a setlist.

Todays tune is "The Mirror And The Ripper" a fantastic intro tune. To be honest i was going to pick Evelyn but could not find any good live clip so i take it some other time. Anyway, enjoy this piece.

Volbeat live at Hovet - 9/10 - 2010
