Robert Plant - Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down

Robert Plant visited Stockholm yesterday for a show at the Annexet, he arrives there with a pretty simple setup, you could say old-school, no moving lights, smoke machines, raisers, stage sets or video walls, only a bunch of classic par cans of and a few profiles, thats it!

During the day Robert go away for a TV recording, he is visiting Skavlan to talk about the past and now and of course play with his "Band of Joy."

Robert Plant apparently enjoys very well the conjunction with Band Of Joy, which consists of
Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Darrell Scott, Byron House and Marco Giovino. It can be seen clearly when he is on stage, he is happy and satisfied, and still hungry of music. He has now essentially abandoned its old idioms. That he still has his voice is no hesitation about, though some have of course age has taken its toll and it is a bit screwed down and he sings low and nuanced, but with an incredible feeling. Robert offers up his band quite often and are open to their musician to solo while he is in the background. During the concert the band transforms several Led Zeppelin songs to the pure country music and rockabilly numbers giving his old music a new emphasis. Songs like "Tangerine", "Misty Mountain Hop", "Gallows Pole", "Houses Of The Holy" and a great version of "Rock and roll". The concert is a successful compromise and I liked this big.

A little fun thing was that Benny Andersson (ABBA) sits down on the fourth row bench a few minutes before Plant went on stage, that also including Lord Ahriman (Dark Funeral) that sits on the same line. In the end of the show, Benny sneaking out and in at the stage edge and wait for Robert.
