Ozzy Osbourne - Killer Of Giants

Yesterday Ozzy Osbourne made a visit to Stockholm for a show at the Globe. A gig that I have been looking forward to a long time now and now it finally became a reality. Ozzy's tour rig was under the classic Rock 'n' roll rule, only four trucks for a gig at the Globe, no unnecessary here. Simple fluorescent, functionally sound, no unnecessary gadgets, such as screens and a lot of other things like Rock Stars like dragging along on tour.

Ozzy's set list was solid, see below. Mixing classic Sabbath songs with his own works. He lines up the hits like a necklace and it's especially exciting to hear Killer of Giants.

Ozzy was inspired and in a good mood which made the gig successful in my opinion. Both audio and vocal terms, it is basically a flawless concert, was a little bit wobbly a couple of times, but nothing you get stuck on, the man has crossed the 60-year mark. The band that backs up Ozzy feels a bit anonymous, however very tight but equally interchangeable. New guitarist Gus G feels right pale in comparison to the colorful Zakk Wylde, I really miss to see and to hear at the side of Ozzy.

A fun element was that Ozzy likes to spray water on the audience and himself, usually he has filled water buckets on stage that he throws out, but this has he upgraded to a water cannon mixed with foam as he amuses himself with. I think it was during song two and start to give the audience a nice little shower and finish by spray down all the photographers so they look like walking snowmen when they wobble out with their cameras lowered, some of them have been around for a while and photographed Ozzy before, so they knew that it's probably best to keep a little distance.

Best during this evening's "Into the Void" and "Killer of Giants".

Current members (as of 2010)

Todays tune "Killer of Giants" is taken from "The Ultimate Sin" that is the fourth studio album by Ozzy Osbourne. It was released on 22 February 1986. The original title for this album was Killer of Giants (after the song of the same name) but Osbourne opted to change the title at the last minute, thus Killer of Giants became The Ultimate Sin.

Taken from "The Ultimate Ozzy". Filmed between April and August 1986.

Ozzy performs live on the main stage at Ozzfest 2010 in Hartford, CT.
