Bad Company - Feel Like Makin Love

Sunday, time for a classic.

"Feel Like Makin' Love" is a song by British supergroup BAD COMPANY. The song originally appeared on the LP "Straight Shooter" in April 1975 and was released as a single in August of the same year.

Paul Rodgers started to came up with the lyrics at a camp in California while touring the US with Free. He was 19 years old. After several years, Rodgers played it to BAD COMPANY guitarist Mick Ralphs who threw in that big chord in the chorus - the muted 'duh-duh' that marks the shift from country ballad to chest-beating rocker. This was at the end of 1969 and Paul Rodgers was a long way from home. While chart success still eluded the FREE vocalist and his band at this point, their reputation on the UK blues circuit had been enough to earn a string of dates on the American West Coast supporting BLIND FAITH. One particular afternoon the band had pitched up at a sun-dappled hippie commune outside San Francisco where Rodgers, still in his teens and more familiar with the industrial smog of his native Middlesbrough, felt the muse strike.

BAD COMPANY are an English hard rock supergroup formed in Westminster, London in 1973 by two former FREE band members—singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke as well as MOTT THE HOOPLE guitarist Mick Ralphs and KING CRIMSON bassist Boz Burrell. Peter Grant, who managed the rock band LED ZEPPELIN, also managed BAD COMPANY until 1982.

Ouzo Bazooka - Desert Love

OUZO BAZOOKA was formed in Tel Aviv, a city with its own unique lifestyle, where one can feel that the vibrant urban scene is driven by cultural coexistence and vigorous creation. Drawing influences from this melting pot and exotic Middle Eastern feel, along with classic hard rock, psychedelic art, garage rock and surf – OUZO BAZOOKAs sound is a dizzying concoction of east meets west.

The band has been touring extensively in the past year, gaining local recognition and supporting act shows in Tel Aviv for both THE PIXIES and THE HIVES.

Yawning Man - Ghost Beach

“The sickest desert group of all time”, as apparently Brant Bjӧrk described YAWNING MAN.

The Californian rockers YAWNING MAN have released the album "The Revolt Against Tired Noises" on December 6, 2017, an album that showcases the band’s talent to drift away with their adoring listeners across a dusty plain of companionship and innovation.

The aural experience of YAWNING MAN summarizes as an intense yet graceful kaleidoscope of polyphonic musical textures. Dramatic and flowing, dark, intense and emotional. July 2018 finds the band releasing their most musically exciting recording to date with their 6th full-length LP, "The Revolt Against Tired Noises" on the ambitious up and coming independent label, Heavy Psych Sounds. The songs on this release are described as “an emotional and visceral expression of pure melodic darkness and beauty”, the album was recorded at Gato Trail Studios in Joshua Tree, CA and produced and engineered by friend and long time collaborator, Mathias Schneeberger (Mark Lanegan, Greg Duli, SUNN O))), EARTH, THE OBSESSED).

Frayle - Witches

The Doom/Stoner Duo FRAYLE was formed in Cleveland in 2017 by Sean Bilovecky and Gwyn Strang.

FRAYLEs “lullabies over chaos” approach to songwriting and their strive to balance the heaviest of riffs, complex layering, tone stacking, syncopated rhythms, with unexpected vocal progressions of Gwyn’s haunting vocal melodies.

Gwyn tells stories of heartbreak, anger, hypocrisy, and resolution, asking the audience for empathy, and in turn inspiring vulnerability.

Drawing inspiration from bands like SLEEP, PORTISHEAD, BEASTWARS, BLONDE REDHEAD, KYUSS, MASSIVE ATTACK, DOWN, CHELSEA WOLFE, and many more, FRAYLE exists at the intersection of doom and dream pop.

They released their "White Witch" on April 1st, 2018, the opens drop tuned and eerie and continues to draw the listener in with heavy slow riffs, light spooky vocals, and doleful lyrics.

Work has already begun on a new full-length album with release pending this summer. Frayle promises to further explore the relationship between crushing riffs and ethereal fragility.
