Jorn - Love Is The Remedy

Easily one of the greatest rock singers of the 21st century, Norway's very own giant Viking warrior JORN LANDEs vocals are resoundingly strong once again on his ninth original studio album "Life on Death Road". It's great to hear that JORN is attacking the microphone once again.

"Life on Death Road" was not an easy album to make as it took several months of hard work for the songwriting vision to come together. JORN needed to take the music to a new level to push the concept of the band further than it has ever gone before. The result is a record that is deep, strong, full of groove and powerful with anthemic songs aplenty! Songs like "Man Of The 80's", "Love Is The Remedy", "Life On Death Road", and "Hangman's Robe" capture the essence of JORN as a singer, songwriter and lyricist.

The album also marks the debut of a new lineup of very experienced and gifted musicians around the Norwegian singer. On bass is Mat Sinner (PRIMAL FEAR, SINNER, KISKE/SOMERVILLE) who needs virtually no introduction to European heavy metal fanatics. On keyboards and production is Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE, REVOLUTION SAINTS), who already joined JORN for the recording of his last covers album, “Heavy Rock Radio” and was the glue that helped JORN to create the feel and the direction for the new album. Francesco Jovino (PRIMAL FEAR) is on drums and Alex Beyrodt (PRIMAL FEAR, VOODOO CIRCLE) handles guitar. Truly a recipe for a roaring success!

JORN had no desire to do "just another" JORN record. The aim was to do the best record possible and it took almost two years of writing, arranging, and producing before wrapping this all up. The performances are thunderous across the board and you can hear the urgency of these songs in JORNs singing!

JORNs catalogue is getting too long to include in brief overviews and his innovative and creative skills as a vocalist and music visionary have led to him selling millions of albums worldwide while being a frequent entrant on sales charts around the world including Billboard. Worth a mention here though are his years fronting German based MASTERPLAN, whom he recorded three albums with. Claimed to be the biggest selling Norwegian musical export since the pop band A-HA, JORN continues his rock crusade and there are no signs of him slowing down and “Life on Death Road” is a magnificent testament to his abilities!

Today's tune "Love Is The Remedy" is taken from the upcoming album "Life on Death Road", set to be released June 2:nd.

Sinner - Road To Hell

SINNER are a German heavy metal band formed by vocalist and bassist Mat Sinner in 1982 (who later joined Primal Fear). They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene. Their latest album, Tequila Suicide, was released in March 31st 2017 and the first taste from it is today's tune "Road To Hell"

Based in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Sinner released their first album, "Wild'n'Evil" in 1982. This album, along with the next two ("Fast Decision" and "Danger Zone") were raw affairs, having little in common with the melodic metal they would later become known for. After many personnel changes (including drummer Edgar Patrik leaving to join BONFIRE), the band saw the addition of ACCEPTs Herman Frank on guitars and the release of "Touch of Sin" in 1985. Frank would leave before the next album, 1986's "Comin' Out Fighting", with future U.D.O. guitarist Mathias Dieth replacing him. 1987 saw the release of "Dangerous Charm", a much more melodic album than previous efforts, but shortly after this the band took a break and wouldn't be heard of again for five years.

In 1990 Mat Sinner released a solo album called Back to the Bullet on BMG with a completely new band. Three members of the Mat Sinner band reformed SINNER and released "No More Alibis" in 1992, an album far heavier than anything SINNER had released before. This renewed vigour coupled with songwriting that far exceeded the band's previous releases not only carried on but strengthened with "Respect" in 1994 and "Bottom Line" in 1995, the latter staying in the Japanese national charts for five weeks. SINNER were to reach even higher peaks though, releasing two hugely successful albums with "Judgement Day" in 1997 and "The Nature of Evil" in 1998

In 2000 the band saw its first line-up change in five years as several members left, including guitarist Tom Naumann while ex-HELLOWEEN and GAMMA RAYs Uli Kusch filled in on drums for "The End of Sanctuary". However, in 2003 the previous 1995–1999 line-up renewed itself and released There Will Be Execution before going quiet again for four years. In the past nine years the band had released six albums, each as good, if not better than the last, proving to be the band's most successful period. This success would continue, as after releasing two more albums with PRIMAL FEAR, an album with his pre-SINNER band GODDESS SHIVA and guesting on Tribuzy's debut album, Mat Sinner brought SINNER back to release "Mask of Sanity" in 2007. This album spawned two popular singles in "Diary of Evil" and "Black" and included a faithful rendition of THIN LIZZYs "Baby Please Don't Go".

Today's tune "Road To Hell" is taken from the album "Tequila Suicide".

Voodoo Circle - Trapped in Paradise

VOODOO CIRCLE is a German hard rock/heavy metal band founded in 2008, as a project of SILENT FORCE guitarist Alex Beyrodt (currently also playing with bands PRIMAL FEAR and SINNER) who had the idea to re-think his personal vision of music, making songs more based on his early influences, such as WHITESNAKE, Yngwie Malmsteen, DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW.

After the debut album called Alex Beyrodt's VOODOO CIRCLE, the project became a collaborative band, composed of Alex Beyrodt together with vocalist David Readman (PINK CREAM 69), bassist Mat Sinner (Beyrodt's bandmate on bands PRIMAL FEAR, SINNER and SILENT FORCE), keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE, also Beyrodt's bandmate on SILENT FORCE) and drummer Tim Husung. On 05 July 2016, it was announced that original vocalist David Readman was leaving the band to focus on other activities.

The band has gained some critical and commercial success with the 2011 album Broken Heart Syndrome. The last two VOODOO CIRCLE albums are More Than One Way Home released in 2013 and Whisky Fingers released in 2015.

Today’s tune "Trapped In Paradise" is taken from the album "Whisky Fingers", released on November 27th 2015.

Level 10 - Cry No More

New week and it's to present this weeks "Record Of The Week".

Level 10 is a new Trans-Atlantic Metallic alliance between powerhouse vocalist Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X, ADRENALINE MOB, AVANTASIA, AYREON, AVALON, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA & ALLEN-LANDE) and the charismatic bassist/producer/writer Mat Sinner (SINNER, PRIMAL FEAR, VOODOO CIRCLE, KISKE/SOMERVILLE among others), one of the real flags of German Heavy Metal music.

The pair met a few times during the years and swore to each other to fine the time and the chance to work together. The occasion came about when Frontiers President, Serafino Perugino managed to connect again the two and have them committed for the creation of a new Metal album which could melt the more contemporary and aggressive sound of ADRENALINE MOB with the more traditional European Power Metal assault from PRIMAL FEAR.

Sinner did not save any effort and put together a killer lineup for the album, including his PRIMAL FEAR cohorts Randy Black (on drums) and Alex Beyrodt (on guitar) and called Roland Grapow (ex HELLOWEEN) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE,VOODOO CIRCLE) to complete the lineup on lead guitar and keyboards respectively. On the songwriting side – besides the band members – the album also seens contributions from Magnus Karlsson, Carsten Schulz, Sander Gommans and Amanda Somerville. While the recording took a long time in between the commitments from the various musicians involved in this release, the result is an outstanding and super heavy – yet infectiously melodic album! With Allen’s over-the-top vocals and a powerful lineup second to none, the resulting album is – from start to finish a true delight for all the metal fans!

LEVEL 10 are:

Russell Allen – Lead & Backing Vocals
Mat Sinner – Bass & Backing Vocals
Roland Grapow – Guitars
Alex Beyrodt – Guitars
Randy Black – Drums & Percussion
Alessandro Del Vecchio - Keyboards

I can't Ignore to say that I really love the things that Russell Allen do, that he is a busy man these days is nothing he could deny, spawning side projects one after another and everything he touches becomes almost magical, he sings like Jesus and have an amazing feeling. "Chapter One" is catchy rocker with a great mixture Classic Epic Power Rock with Mainstream Melodic Hard Rock.

"Chapter One" is great album with many good tracks to keep the interest up. The guitar work is excellent, merging heavy riffing and melodic harmonies perfectly. Del Vecchi with Sinner and Black in the rhythms section is a well oiled machine that have an amazing chemistry together. This is the fronted by monster singer Russell Allen.

To sum this up:

If you’re a fan of melodic heavy metal then Level 10 debut is mandatory listening.

Todays tune "Cry No More" is taken from the debut album "Chapter One", enjoy!
